I think the problem with the Pokemon anime is that it goes from such high highs to such low lows really quickly. After seeing Ash battling in the Pokemon league with a team of 6 powerful Pokemon who have been trained over the course of three seasons, going back to Ash with Pikachu, an unevolved starter and a route 1 bird or something is very hard to watch because it just feels so underwhelming compared to what you just watched.
You literally do the samething when you buy a new Pokemon game the anime just handles it in a unique way If he kept his strong team the whole time it would be boring It’s more about the fun of the adventure Don’t be a buzzkill
This bothers me far less than the classic “Ash’s level 100 Pikachu lost to a level 5 Snivy”. When they refuse to use their own world’s logic, it’s hard to be invested. Even a kid’s show should follow its own rules.
Do want to mention that FSG put up a Community Post about this video - basically saying “hey, yeah, Ash should have Gengar, Hawlucha, and Solgaleo here, so he’s probably above Paul, our bad”.
As someone that really enjoys Goh and personally ranks him as one of my favorite companion characters, him being No. 1 was a nice surprise. While I doubt he'll ever actually be that good in canon even with some Legendaries under his belt, I do think he'll be a high level trainer eventually since he said he wants to be a trainer worthy of Eternatus when he left it with Leon.
The thing about ahs is that he shoud be allowed to use all his mechaniques just like in the league. Mega lucario, G-max gengar and z-move pikachu all in one team for him to be to his fullest potential.
For FULL context about Eternatus, while Goh did give Eternatus to Leon, he DOESN'T use it for his final battle against Ash. But it DID make an appearance during their battle but not to interrupt it, but it went over to Hammerlocke Stadium as the battle between Ash and Leon caused so much intense energy that Eternatus escaped the Galar Power Plant to go over and stabilize the immense amount of Galar particles that had appeared around the Stadium during the battle before flying off. What was in Eternatus's place for Leon's team is Mr. Rime, but it shouldn't be underestimated. It defeated Ash's Gengar, and took on Ash's Sirfetch'd before falling to Ash's Lucario and it FORCED Ash to Mega Evolve Lucario to take it down.
Honestly, after the character reset and retiring Ash. The anime got really good. Liko and Roy are great protagonists and the power scaling of the anime finally makes sense again
Agreed tbh, imo horizons is probably the most banger pokemon anime i've watched It singlehandedly got me back into pokemon after i lost interest a few years ago
I think they should’ve retired Ash back in Kalos where he should’ve won the league. Heck I’d say he should’ve retired back in gen 4 if Tobias didn’t exist
Few things to know about sawyer: For one, he’s one of ashs main rivals of gen 6, being the main one before Alain showed up in xyz, he’s actually beaten ash before (granted, ash wasn’t in a good headspace, but he still won) and is a top 4 of Kalos, only being behind ash, Alain, and diantha, seemingly
Thank you for reacting to the video! We have a lot of fun writing and making these top 10s at False Swipe Gaming, looking forward to see how you react to the 3rd installment when we drop it!

Funny story this year I dressed as the “Riddler” from batman but all my friends jokingly called me the “Rizzler” 😂so when I went through the day and I’d see people trick or treating or me telling what my costume was. Some people said “you’re the Rizzler?! 😄” 😂 Happy Halloween 🎃
10:48 pat. you HAVE to react to the sawyer vs ash fight. not even for a video but the animation goes hard. i was surprised to hear you havent watched the kalos final fights yet.
I will say, I think Journeys had a lot of good episodes and I loved seeing Ash become a Pokemon Master. Goh was also a great companion because he was really playing his own game but also had that same love of Pokemon in general. I think I also liked Goh because, if I was in the Pokemon world, I, too, would just want to run around and catch/train them all.
YESSS FINALLY!!! A little sad that he didn't check out the Google doc in the comments but oh well For anyone curious, by their rules, FSG said that Ash should've had Hawlucha and Solgaleo instead of Charizard and Torkoal, leading to a total of 100+ points However, Goh still has an overall more competitive team even by Ubers standards so they still give Goh the #1 spot For the latest animes, Pokemon Journeys, the last season with Ash, is a mixed bag. Pokemon Horizons, the new show without Ash, is pretty fricking good.
Funny how par call goh "dumb" when he’s actually the smart one (ash is only smarter in journey when it comes to battle, otherwise ash is the guy who think data are a physical thing that you can call out like a dog when you lost all the data)
I remember a trainer by the name of Tobias and he was a menace with latias, and a guy with a sandrew with a strength belt that made Pikachu into a ball 99 wins ,
Black&white anime isn’t horrible but the weakest of all the gen XY anime is peak Sun&moon is considered underrated Journey is seen as a mix bag (though most of ash battles are at least decent) Horizon is a breath of fresh air but quite slow to really get going (though friede tend to save the day a bit to often until the paldea school arc)
Gen 5 was absolute dog, gen 6 was the peak of Pokemon and the greatest series till date, gen 7 has to be the most underrated and it's amazing if I'm completely honest, just the artwork is a bit off, and gen 8 is pretty mid, could have been the best but nah they fumbled
@@tylers50505 i respect your opinion but let's be realistic, gen 1 ain't anywhere near gen 6, i mean the nostalgia and all is cool but character development, plot and one of the best villain arcs with the best gimmick (mega evo). Yeah i doubt there's any competition here
27:34 Yes but Ice types have been notorious for being bad in most generations and if you're don't use ice types then you don't have stab on those moves.
Sawyer was one of Ash's secondary rivals in the XY anime, which is something they started doing in Diamond and Pearl where Ash would have a few minor recurring Rivals in addition to his main one to help round who he would face in the Pokemon league so it wasn't just a bunch of one-off randos. Though the way the anime plays out, Ash is more like Sawyer's rival, since Sawyer started behind Ash and had to quickly catch up to his level by the league.
Honestly, I wouldn’t consider him a secondary, once he showed up, he immediately got to show himself as ash’s rival, I’d say if Alain wasn’t part of xyz, ash would either face sawyer or diantha herself as the final fight, he may not show up as often as someone like Paul, but when he did, it mattered
SM Ash could do: Mega Luke, Naganadel, Ash Greninja, Dragonite, Gliscor, Gengar Uber, Uber, OU, OU, OU, UUBL 20+20+15+15+15+15 = 100 pts By their system
You should definetly watch the XY and Sun and Moon anime it's my favorite, even better than gen 4 in my oppinion even though I have huge nostalgia for it, also enjoyed Journeys and Horizons but XY and Gen 7 are peak
We should all know that Ash is the strongest, he knows how to pick up a tree with ease and held the heaviest Pokémon of all time, and he is the world champion, Ash is the strongest, no question
The gen five anime sucks, gen six is peak, gen seven is really good, and journeys isn't that good, but it has good moments. Pokémon horizons is really good too.

This is why im glad they didn't put ash in the new anime
Don't get me wrong ash was cool and iconic, but i needed that breath of fresh air
True lol. (But i do love the restarts… except the Snivy situation; we don’t talk about the Snivy situation)

@@Lt_Chloe yes, he has an ultra beast on his team line up in the video.
I love how they got Goh voice actor for this

Friend, as an idea for the next video, you can talk giving your opinion on the Pokémon openings.
That was Goh’s voice actor, which was an awesome cameo.

Gen 1 was absolutely the best series with the first movie being the cap off for gen 1.
@@tylers50505in terms of having the most complete story within in its respective series, Gen 1 (including the orange islands) is the best.

Finally Something that's not from the same youtubers.
6:34 they literally are the best trainers in the world.
I’m surprised Tobias with his Latis and Darkrai wasn’t on this list!!
Latios not Latias and he wasn't on the list because we only know two of his Pokemon.

No shot Patterz is getting away with calling Kaiba "ok" at dueling
Could you imagine if goh didn't keep eternatus away and actually used that beast in battle?
I predicted Goh the minute I understood the way they were ranking.
Goh can afford to feed all his Pokémon because he works for a Professor who runs kind of a sanctuary park.
Goh may not know type matchups but that boy is NUTS
I'm surprised Kukui didn't make the list, Or did they not count Tapu Koko as his Pokemon so he technically didn't have a team of 6?
SM Ash could do:
Mega Luke, Naganadel, Ash Greninja, Dragonite, Gliscor, Gengar

First 10-15 episodes of the gen 5 anime are trash, but then it gets a lot better
Pokémon Horizons is great, but not crazy on action, at least yet

That moment when you wanna open the comment section and accidentally dislike the video instead (not the first time it happened to me either)
Hey Pat, I think that you should start watching Pokémon Horizons. It's actually alright
Watch the gen 6 anime

Pokémon horizons is really good too.
The anime is not bad if you skip the filler and watch the battles and evolutions

How did Alain beat Cynthia? Makes no sense.
"How does he afford to feed all those pokemon, though?"
...
He's a pokemon go trainer. He just puts pokemon into a blender and turns them into food.
