Coach geno was exactly right when he said this team goes through spurts of turning over and missing shots it was refreshing to see azzi out there though ngl and Caroline and Dorka both been bright spots all year. Injuries have just derailed this season because that 25 30 a night from Paige is needed.
I've been saying that since the first time Caroline Ducharme broke the 20ppg barrier. When Paige comes back, every girl is going to get lots of very good looks at the bucket. 80 points per game will be their minimum production.
It's so exciting to think of having all these players fit all at once for long stretches of games...it's gonna be scary but not for us🥺These players and woods can win a Championship but add the luxury of Olivia Nelson Ododa, Nika Muhl, Evina Westbrook, Aliyah Edwards, Dorka juhasz
That was intense. They guarded tight and Morrow played like Bill Laimbeer. They were very tough, despite all the bad ref calls and flops. UConn took some to adjust, but getting ahead was not easy. This was the perfect opponent for this moment. They pushed and UConn pushed back. Ducharme is amazing and AZ is great. Lessons? Don't pick up the dribble too early. Inbounds plays are special. Muscle complements length. Good passing is huge. UConn passed the test this time!
Yes on all counts! It was awesome D by DePaul, an excellent challenge for UConn. Morrow is a great offensive talent. But if the game had been called evenly, with as many touch fouls called on DePaul as were called on Olivia and Dorka, Morrow would have fouled out in the first half. It's a shame that she isn't really experiencing the sort of referring she's likely to see in the tournament. It will be bad news for DePaul if she fouls out early then. Azzi and Caroline stepped up in a big way on offense, as did Christyn. If they can get the basic elements of guard play down more consistently -- better d, fewer traveling calls, fewer bad passes, not picking up the dribble needlessly -- it's actually a long list. If they can do all of this, they won't need as many last second heroics by Caroline and they can concentrate on dominating opponents. But it's a relief that they can count on her when they need her. I can barely wait to see what the team looks like when they can have Paige, Azzi and Caroline on the floor all at once. I suspect Christyn and Evina will recover their form from last season once the youngsters take the pressure off them. And if the guards can take control of each game, Amari and Piath may get enough playing time to develop and bring some real help to Dorka, Aaliyah and Olivia, and then there will be no such thing as foul trouble for this crew.
This was the first UConn game that I was able to attend after a long time of being a fan. Incredible hustle and determination by the huskies. Thank you MJ for the repost of an incredible night ❤️

very very good game for uconn to weather through and tough out a win; the depaul coach got his women to believe they could win, but they came up 1.6 secs and 3 points short; the uconn women grew their confidence in this storm of a game
This UCONN team proved it can win with Sweet Caroline & Gutsy Nika in the backcourt. Nika will play with a broken leg & Sweet Caroline wants the ball when it's a tie & there's just 8 seconds left. Add Smokin' Hot Shootin' Azzi Fudd & you get additional All America quality play plus 20 ppg. Add Paige & Chrystin and the team goes to another, much higher, almost cosmic level. March madness could be something special with Paige, Caroline, Azzi, Nika, Khristin, & Dorka, The Dodo, & Edwards and the rest of the team. These girls are serious talents. Paige, Azzi, & Sweet Caroline can all shoot, plus dribble & catch. Paige can plan & make it happen. Caroline can drive. Azzi can shoot. Niki is driving more, plus she's the team Kamakazi, and Christian is a coast-to-coast player. At least three of those girls will make All America, maybe four because, they all have skills & handles. Alll of them can catch errant passes like they have glue on their fingers. Sure, on Friday nights, they might not be "dancin' with the cowboys, but they will be shooting out all the lights." 85 points per night is the new minimum for a team with players like that.

Morrow is good she doesn’t need to be flopping so damn much almost ended her season for trynna flop. DePaul probably would’ve won if she didn’t flop and end up hurting herself to the point she had to be taken out.
i have notice a pattern with the comments if uconn loses it because they have no senior leadership. if they win its because they have no senior leadership that play a roll in the win . you win as a team and lose as a team
Is it just me but I find it very suspicious that morrow looked like she was in absoulute pain in the beggning but came back, made tons of shots and kinda played pretty good?
Nelson odota is a fucking monster on the board. Her replacement has to step up her game, she loses a lot of balls on both the drive and shots, and she gets boxed out relatively easy. But coming on clutch at the end. Uconn stopped driving and cutting the entirety of the second period, and odota stopped posting. It was working wonders. But good job and effort none the less. Fun game.
When Refs call a one side game, the team they cheat for should win but they lost this time!!! DePaul's Star pushed and forearmed, stiffed armed and twisted feet even causing her on to go out of the game. Their senior did the flop multi-times, which in the NCAAW 2021/2022 year, a flop is Technical foul...WE shot and they jump on our player and we made the shot and no foul... I keep saying all games should be watch by the Ref's Boss and if they do bad job then they have consequences!!! I am not saying we did not foul but the other team did a lot more than was called!!! In all this the Announcing Team never disagreed with any calls or talked about them..... Of course they are not that knowledgeable folk any way.... Both want to do color instead of one does color and calls the play by play!!!! And if you notice they never review fouls accept when the Refs calls time out to have look see!!!! They always review a great shot some player not the foul that sent the players to the line or out of bounds play!!!!
Oh please quit whining Depaul does this in every game. And DePaul shouldn't even have been in this game, Bruno is just a great coach. Their best players were all 3 star recruits. UConn even without Paige is loaded with 5 star recruits.
The announcer literally just said she's never seen so many foul calls in her life and sided with UConn at least twice in the fourth quarter. So I don't know why you're complaining about the announcers.
Just want the game to be call fair for all teams.... But now that the Refs have been exposed to some national press they should run for the jobs!!!! Do not write back because you are barking in the wilderness and just the tree the falls and goes bang in the woods where no body will hear you as they do not get to read the second layer of comments!!!!
Geno getting what he deserves ain't no way Westbrook should be on the bench with the game on the line it's like he's having a senior moment with his thinking
@@alexroberson4454 no I have a liking for uconn teen yes she's in a slump but she can't get out of it on the bench and her experience would have helped on defense which they were lacking
@@paulchandler9060 Westbrook is the weakest player out there. Her hesitation in shooting when WIDE open is mind blowing. What is she afraid of? She hasn't done her job in a consistent manner and Geno has made the right call. Fudd came off the bench tonight and in half the time knocked down 15 points with great shooting. She has to earn her playing time.
@@JH-eg7mq you said it your self the word earn she has already been done that yes she's in a slump you don't get out of it on the bench her defense and ball handling was still better than a few that was in the game in the last quarter fudd is a scorer she did need to be on the floor
@@paulchandler9060 Evina does the small things that don’t show up on the stat sheets. Geno’s decision to have her be the 6th person is a correct assessment at this time. We have lost 4 games this season due to the seniors NOT stepping up. They are the leaders right? Out of the three seniors, Evina has not done what Geno has asked on a consistent basis. She plays lost out on the court at times. Throws the ball away at least once a game! I don’t know what it is up with her, but he had to make a change. She is much more effective, as a 6 person coming in, than starting. Some people just can’t handle starting. I will say this for Nika as well. Once Paige is healthy, we can go to the final four with Paige, Caroline, Azzi, ONO and Williams. They should be strong together. Williams and ONO have really stepped up. Nika, Dorka, Evina and EDWARDS can sub in to fill the gaps. What is up with EDWARDS stats and play this season? It has been way off from last year. Geno is on point in every postgame interview, And knows what it takes to get to the final four, let alone win a National Championship. I trust his judgment 💯! Go Huskies!
#4 for DePaul likes to flop at every little physical interaction. Like come on everyone else is being bumped and pushed yet they aren’t flying to the ground or arms swinging in the air.
In-bounds plays begin as soon as the ref hands you the ball. Several times the Huskies had their backs to their in-bound player for 2-3 seconds after, until they apparently decided they wanted the play to start….too late! The ladies get way too casual and undisciplined way too often. Need more intensity for 40 minutes every game. No mental time-outs allowed. If they need an example, rewatch this game and pay attention to that Morrow kid. She’s the best player I’ve seen this year and her motor never stops churning. Plays hard, under control, great footwork, good shooter, and very high BB IQ. She was everywhere all game impacting play in every dimension possible. Great player. It looks to me that DePaul is way under-rated.
The officiating is very very lousy either the referrees are blind or they agreed to be biased with uconns. Held left hand was on Caroline side pushing her down and no foul. Morrow has a unique style of body movement, very agreesive just study her moves and you can predict and anticipate her moves. she is freshman a bad experience will kill her spirit. She has to be careful with her body movements for it is susciptable to injury.
JEst, this game left her a gimp in both legs. She should sit for three to four weeks after a bend back like she took in the 3rd quarter. She's a gamer for sure, but basketball depends on the legs, so she should heal and lose weight, or she'll be too crippled to reach her potential.
@@chestermicek Agree she is heavy in upperbody that type of built is for discuss thrower and not for basketball, she should get a good advice before its too late.
Someone needs to tell that announcer to STOP calling these young ladies kid! It's annoying! If I refer to her as that broad it would be offensive. These are not kids. Stop referring to them as kid!
DePaul is like Iowa(lite) they can run and gun but they give up a ton of points to the opposition. UCONN still has it's in conference streak still intact. But even (non conference) low scoring Georgia Tech broke UCONN's streak against unranked teams. They did look better with CW getting to the cup and Juhasz rebounding. The open 3's by Azzi and Nika were going to be there all day, but put this win into context. It's still DePaul in the Big East.
I feel like Edwards and Westbrook have both had their spirit broken. Westbrook is the mama of the team and they both just need a chance to get their confidence back up. It is hard to do that from the bench. That being said; Caroline, Azzi, Williams and Juhas have a bright future. Dorka and Olivia need to stop dropping the hand down. They work hard to get position and then they do that to get called with the foul.
Both were given plenty of chances to get out of whatever funk they're in and both failed. Visions of AE getting called for a travel on a solo breakaway fastbreak still haunts me. A 6'3 post and Canadian Senior National Team member getting outplayed, outhustled and humiliated by a 6'1 undersized post is just plain unacceptable. And the most unfortunate thing is that she's going to have an even harder time next year when two hungry posts join the team. As for Westbrook, I love E, but she looks like she doesn't even want to play when she's on the floor.
Why do the Huskies continually abandon the ball on the point?! The dribbler picks up the ball, usually when she shouldn’t, and four players just stand around and watch. Like a wide receiver in football, when your QB gets in trouble, you HAVE to work back toward the passer to provide a safe outlet. This one tendency leads to SO many turnovers for this team and it’s such a basic concept. It’s your job as a receiver to get open and give your QB an out when needed. Nika has to quit picking up her dribble in no-man’s land and needs to learn how to play hard without losing control. Aaliya needs 15 minutes every day through the end of the season practicing contested layups…..get a blocking pad and push her around while she shoots layups. She ‘s playing super soft, needs to toughen up with the ball, and make contested layups.
i agree. one of the things that frustrated me the most when watching UConn play is that sometimes they literally just stood around? it was worse last season because i remember Geno would just yell "move" at them lol, now I think it's getting better? esp with Dorka and the freshmen
Again thanks to MJL243 ❤!!! How important is Paige Bueckers to this particular team? Here's my answer. If prior to tournament time a healthy Paige returns for at least 5 games (enough time for the floor maestro to establish chemistry) & has healthy teammates to play with, *her* Uconn team will swiftly establish dominance reminiscent of the Stewie era, ultimately comparing very favorably to all past Uconn dynasties...my humble prediction😎!
Not a De Paul fan but a shame "birdnest betty" doesn't leave the political statement on the bench, I say it would enhance her game! Guess I should be thankful!!!!
Really? UConn how are u gonna compete against more talented teams . Stanford, Baylor . Tennessee South Carolina , LSU Paige or no Paige c'mon now u let this team take u to the end of the game to get a win?
a win's a win, does it matter what it looks like, or how long it takes; would you give back a win because it's by 1 point or on a buzzer beater? i don't think so

Thank you MJL423 for this game. 🤣🤣🤣 Yesss
Let's help MJL243 with more subscriptions!!! Without him/her, for several years, a lot of us would not be able to watch UConn!
Thx🔥👌🏼🔥
Ducharme is my new fave player!
I love DePaul, there an amazing team.
No Geno Auriemma show video for today??
That was a great victory.
i have notice a pattern with the comments if uconn loses it because they have no senior leadership. if they win its because they have no senior leadership that play a roll in the win . you win as a team and lose as a team
aneesah morrow is cold!
what happened to paige bueckers?
UCONN love.....
Did you delete the Geno show from a couple days ago? It was on your account but now has been deleted and it's just the one from 12/3
SNY took it down for copyright violation. They don't want anybody uploading their original programming.
@@mjl2434 ahhh makes sense! will you be able to post it eventually?? Love your uploads btw!!!
What are the strengths of Azzi Fudd?
She's just a spot up shooter
Good game!
@@stanwebb3480 LOL
That's my sister basketball game number 11
Good player!!
3:12
They fucked up on that 5 second inbound call. That's bullshit
That morrow is a monster there
Geno getting what he deserves ain't no way Westbrook should be on the bench with the game on the line it's like he's having a senior moment with his thinking
You must have a personal liking for Westbrook because there is no way you made that analysis based on the way she's been playing.
Go Huskies!
UConn kept picking up their dribble and it made me so mad 🤦🏽♀️
#4 for DePaul likes to flop at every little physical interaction. Like come on everyone else is being bumped and pushed yet they aren’t flying to the ground or arms swinging in the air.
Sometimes I wish Culmo would just hush 🤣
Excellent observations! I agree.
I think DePaul was in the tournament last year, so, the fans who follow the big east know how good they are.
Morrow is a dirty player!
DE-Flop
Well, my Nova team broke that in conference streak earlier this week...it was GREAT!! lol
they are stepping in front and falling down, clear blocking but inept refs ?Why doesnt Uconn do that and see what they call.
There's some actor that DePaul's coach looks like. Help me out.
Garrett Hedlund
@@cassieh.1950 I was thinking more Uncle Rico from Napoleon Dynamite.
@@TheStranger513 Nah see…lol…don’t do Doug like that
A Tribe Called Judah, The Forrest Gump character by Tom Hanks?
@@cassieh.1950 I could've went with Steve Buscemi lol.
@@lexiewescott445 YES!! Even I yell 'move' while watching the game because there should always be some type of movement going on.
Why do they flop so much
Really? UConn how are u gonna compete against more talented teams . Stanford, Baylor . Tennessee South Carolina , LSU Paige or no Paige c'mon now u let this team take u to the end of the game to get a win?
a win's a win, does it matter what it looks like, or how long it takes; would you give back a win because it's by 1 point or on a buzzer beater? i don't think so
It's almost February and Paige is still in that brace? C'mon UConn fans something is not right
Not a top 10 team probably not top 25 especially if they played in a real conference.
worst hair ever!!
thank you very much
