I just finished making one with "Peaches and Cream" , brown cotton yarn. I blended the Peaches and Cream cotton yarn with Lion Brand rewind yarn for the brim. It came out very good! My hat is super cute. I used hook: H,G, & I yarn: dishie. It turned out super cute (21” head.. no hair-fits perfectly) for those who are curious about sizing
Hi. Acrylic will still work! It’s personal preference really. I only suggested a natural fiber, for more breathability during warmer months. Depending on your climate, acrylic may be just fine to wear now, and on into Spring. 😃 🌦️🌼
Hi Helen. LOVE my Furls hooks, both the Odyssey that I used almost exclusively and the wooden Streamline for more slippery yarn. I'll be doing a review at some point.
Hi. Since that home cotton is a little thinner and slightly lighter, also due to the small amount of nylon, I think it is, should help keep it from being overly thick and heavy. You might need to frog, and go down an additional hook size, if your gauge becomes larger than measurements given; after approx. round 4. (and then another hook size down, for the band and first row of brim.). Depending, of course, on your crocheting tension and head size. Hope it works out great with what you’ve already started! Have fun! 😃
@@missybrigner9958 Oh really, well that's curious. I would've thought it might go the other way! Generally, they may appear smaller, at first. When you finish the cap portion and the band, the final round (after the brim), and then the finishing round will also add more height. Hope that makes sense and it will fit you nicely. But nice you have a granddaughter who can use it instead, just in case! 😅
@@missybrigner9958 GREAT you've finished already, wow! 🎉 If you'd like to email me a photo, I'll save it and post in a show n' tell video, at some point, and/or Instagram. cabinfeverc@gmail.com 😃
Hello. A ladies average head size circumference is 21 3/4”. There’s some flex on the average size; but remember, yarn stretches. So depending on the yarn you’re using and your own crocheting tension, you can adjust for that either way. You can stay with the H hook (5.0mm) throughout, if your head is smaller, or go with the average size, if you’re unsure. I hope that helps. 💜
Several companies make the 1/4 sizes, in smaller hooks as: 2.25/B, 2.75/C, 3.25/D, and 3.75/F. I've been using primarily Furls (www.furlscrochet.com), for severals years now. Clover, Boye, Addi and possibly others, have those sizes, too. A google search will show various places where you can get them. I've noticed that although the size listed in millimeters may vary between companies, the corresponding letter and hook number, are considered the same. Hope that helps! 💗
@cabinfevercrochet Just to let ya know, my hat turned out too small for me. But I really like it. I'll be adjusting hook sizes till I get one that fits me. Lol Thanks for this pattern
@@missybrigner9958 Thank you for letting me know! After you've made one, it gives a good sense on what yarn type and hook size works for the intended hat size. Sounds like you have it down, now! Thanks so much, you saved my ass !
My hat is super cute. I used hook: H,G, & I yarn: dishie. It turned out super cute (21” head.. no hair-fits perfectly) for those who are curious about sizing
So wonderful to hear and I sure appreciate you letting me know! I'm really happy it worked out so well for you. 💗
I like that
Thank you!
👍👍☺☺

Unfortunately I only have acrylic I checked and it’s 100% , so this yarn probably won’t work for the brim?
Hi. Acrylic will still work! It’s personal preference really. I only suggested a natural fiber, for more breathability during warmer months. Depending on your climate, acrylic may be just fine to wear now, and on into Spring. 😃 🌦️🌼
@@cabinfevercrochet thank you !
I'm going to make one, how do you like your furls hook, I've been debating whether or not to buy one to try.
Hi Helen. LOVE my Furls hooks, both the Odyssey that I used almost exclusively and the wooden Streamline for more slippery yarn. I'll be doing a review at some point.
I'm trying it in premier home cotton. Hope it works out
Have fun! 😃
@cabinfevercrochet right now it's looking to be too small. I just finished row 8.
But if it is, I'll give it to my granddaughter and go from there.
@@cabinfevercrochet wish I could post a pic. Turned out really nice. My granddaughter will love it
@@missybrigner9958 GREAT you've finished already, wow! 🎉 If you'd like to email me a photo, I'll save it and post in a show n' tell video, at some point, and/or Instagram. cabinfeverc@gmail.com 😃
You say average, my head is a size 19, so what size do you want me to crochet help
Where do you find the 3.75s and hooks on the quarter? I have lots of hooks. None of them are on the quarter. 😢
@cabinfevercrochet
Just to let ya know, my hat turned out too small for me. But I really like it. I'll be adjusting hook sizes till I get one that fits me. Lol
Thanks for this pattern
@@missybrigner9958 Thank you for letting me know! After you've made one, it gives a good sense on what yarn type and hook size works for the intended hat size. Sounds like you have it down, now! Even though there's some flexibility within each size, It's still one of those more, size-specific patterns. 😅
Stick to crocheting you don’t get hurt lol❤
LOL!! 💜😅💜
“V-stitch increase” is too hard for my little brain. Had to translate to “W-stitch” 😂
Whatever works!! 😅 💜
Thanks for the demo! Just bought the pattern. Think this will be a hit at the fall craft fairs in our local #GOCHIEFS colors. Thank you!
Oh wow, that's fantastic! Thank you!! 💗 I hope they'll do really well. Since you'll selling, if anyone asks, please give credit back to me/my channel, as the designer. 😘
Google translator is so helpful!! 😍
La traductora de google es muy útil !! 😅

100gm should do it! 💗
Is there a written pattern.
Hello and thanks for asking! I don't have one yet or an exact time fram; but I do plan to start releasing written patterns on some of my designs. I'll have a video announcement when it's ready. :)
Por favor en español
Si, gracias preguntando. ¡Los subtítulos ya están disponibles!
Too much talking. Gave up before she even got to the how to.....
Hello. It is a lot of explaining, and I’ve scaled back on that in more recent tutorials, without sacrificing instruction. However, there’s a detailed time stamp in the drop-down description section. You can fast forward to any segment, at any time, if you’d still to give it a go. 💗
