Jim Carrey actually regrets being in this movie, as he knew it was going to be darker and more violent than the first film.

@@deving9793 I missed that the first time I watched it, too, so don't feel too bad 8-) I didn't even know Jim Carrey was in it until years after I saw it, and somebody said something about him being in Kick Ass 2. Then it clicked, and I felt silly, but he seriously was hard to spot.
He was the military guy with the dog. I think he had a prosthetic nose to make him look rougher, and with the Italian mobster accent, I didn't recognize him.
You missed the after credit scene when he was laying in the hospital bed with no arms or legs saying "Somebody scratch my balls,my balls itch."
While the first was better this was grittier and better then i thought it would be, shame this was not supported by the fans as I really would of loved to see a final 3rd film. Thanks Devin

@@deving9793 me either but Hollywood like all business in the usa is profit profit profit so when it failed to make good money there was 0 chance for a 3rd film. Sucks for the fans as always
@@michaelcoffey1991 It was not the fans fault. It was protests by parents after a school shooting and Jim Carry disowning the movie for having to much gun violence that destroyed the chance for a 3rd movie
Yeah Carrey didn't want to do another violent role because something happened around the game time. Huge shame, this needs a 3rd movie.

Geez, I know this is a movie, but in real life that .357 Magnum or whatever that was would have broken Dave's ribs right under his bullet-resistant vest. Even a .40 S&W or .45 ACP can break ribs and send you to the hospital, so getting shot is no joke, vest or no vest. But this is a movie.

@@lennyappleton2840 I get the reference, of course, but these rounds in the sequel literally sent Dave flying. While that's not realistic outside of movies, I think the point is that Mindy is decidedly *not* using low-velocity rounds--certainly not in that Magnum revolver.
To add to my previous comment phoenix jones is credited for stopping over 200 crimes over his career and I’m pretty sure kickass’s girlfriend and the hero group was loosely based on the rain city superhero movement irl
Thanks for sharing your reaction. Sequels are often lazy cash grab attempts and I have issues with my willing suspension of disbelief, but this sequel was so over-the-top that it was still enjoyable.
They need to do a Kick-Ass 3 or a spin-off like Hit-Girl. They are talking about doing the third film I wouldn't mind the trilogy

I dislike the writers made Dave Lizewski and Marty Eisenberg being little bit different to their childhood best friend Todd Haynes in this movie. Besides they ditch him. They mock him. They abandoned him when he need them the most. They're brothers figure.

The baseball bat hero is Donald Faison, he’s in scrubs and a bunch of movies like waiting to exhale.
9:31 He could've just told her he was being trained by her. The writer's just wanted her out of the story. They could've done a better job at it.
To be fair this puts her more in-line with the comic version.
