Cody jinks, Chris Stapleton, the dead south, the steel drivers, the turnpike troubadours, and Brent Cobb . Sturgill ain't really been putting out country lately
And you are a beautiful and cool soul too. Im a year into the future, the world is in a pandemic with a terrifying 99% survival probability, and I'm listening to Tyler Childers.
Probably True and I just happened to be back right as your comment appeared. STRANGE!! Thank you for your kind words, and take care of yourself ♥️✨♥️✨♥️✨♥️✨♥️✨♥️
I Love Lexington I travel all over Kentucky... Tyler is like family I have never met all the way back to Lawrence county, Kentucky ol pike county our daddy's hauling coal. Awesome tune... Love this tune
I was 22 when I fell in love with this song, I had no knowledge nor preference of work boot, my 3rd pair of cheapo’s had fallen apart after only a few months and I decided I needed a quality pair that would last me. Thinking about the options available, I recalled that exact lyric and bought me a pair of Red Wings. Still wearing them every day 6 years later, so thank you Tyler
That's the key...mountain music at its very best.I'm not a fan of the glamour country music but this is the music my Dad loved so much..he would have loved Tyler Childers.
If you don't like this there is something wrong with you . I listen to rock music most of the time but Damm I can't stop listening to him is F---ing unbelievable......
But you know it wouldn't have been as good. Sturgill couldnt resist over producing Bus Route, and it doesn't have near the kick of the video. And none of Tyler's stuff is as good in studio as live.
@@Hooozyer What do you think about pre-album Peace of Mind vs. the album version? I like album better, and have to assume it was Sturgill (maybe John?) who told him to slow it down.

Barbra Wagers to hell with the major labels they are the reason the radio makes ya want to puke! People who want good music will find it and people will always be making it.
I heard Country Squire on the radio today and downloaded it right away. I am a fan of old country and listen to Guy Clark, Terry Allen, Sturgill Simpson, Jamie Johnson, and of course the late John Prine to name a few of the great artists. These are singers who can get on a stage with an old six string and entertain from the sole. I know that the majority of the youth listen to the new stuff put out now in Nashville and the record company just wants the money. I can't come to listen to it on the radio and it is even harder to watch the CMA awards now to see half pop groups getting awards. If they had to sing for their dinner they would probably starve without all the fancy tech equipment covering them. I call it cookie cutter songs. They all sound the same. I am so glad that we still have real music artists who write real life stories. I hope Tyler you continue to stay with this type of music and don't try and go to out there away from your roots like many others have.
They all sound the same and the words are practically the same. It's like they are playing the same song over and over. None of the songwriters seem to be over the age of 25 and have no apparent life experiences to write about other than partying by the river in their pick up truck??? No heart. No soul.
I hope they take it to the studio but a commenter down the page says it'd be played on the radio too much. I do not care how Tyler sounds here, the song is boss, and I keep coming back to it. This video has more than three-quarters of a million hits since January 2017. Nice.
This is real country at it's best that George Jones and Straight would approve. These guy's that get publicized like Kayne Brown doesn't even come close. Keep it up Tyler Childers, Cole Chaney, and Whiskey Myers .
Love this song! One of my favorites along with Charleston Girl, Deadman's Curve, House on Fire, Nose on the Grindstone, Whitehouse Road, Honest Work, Hard Times, Trudy . . .
Wish he'd write a song about my papaw, Jink Ray, (1898-1991). Fought in France in WWI, lived his whole life on Island Creek, Pikeville, Ky. I'd be honored beyond description. Even us Prosecuting Attorneys can't get enough of Tyler's music!
Thanks!! So many people on here asking who that guitar player is.....I can't find any other videos on youtube with him besides Whitehouse Road and this one. Do you know of any others or who else he has played with? Does he have any recordings? Anything? He needs his own youtube channel. I think he has a fan club just from this video. :)
What a great performance. Between the bass, slide guitar, dude with the tele, Tyler.. Damn Edit: I noticed that's his current bass player, dude rips. Easy to identify with that hair
Craig Berletic is a great bass player! Nowadays he plays a fretless. When we saw them in Cleveland a few weeks ago we spotted him just hanging out with the crowd before the show.
Thank God for this young man and his band mates. Bubble gum overproduced pop country is for city folks and 13 year old girls. These ole boys are the real deal
I had ever heard his music untill. Truin God thn I looked to see what else he had and I'm impressed I think this is on of the most pure country songs since Tracy Lawrence debut album stick and stones he has a country voice and this song is one of the best songs I've heard it's pure country ,and any guy that has even. Raised in the country and of simple means can relate to it I can close my eyes put this on and be seventeen again such an awesome song and the singing and playing is spot on this in a word is just country at its best
A lot of music artists will go back to similar hooks and reuse lyrics throughout their songs like a gimmick. I don't think I have ever heard Tyler really do that. Every song is so much different and original on its own.
IA. BassFishing bro what are the fucking chances that two Iowa boys that follow each other on insta (al.west_outdoors)are also commenting on a Tyler Childers video. Badass
Jesus, this is amazing music you can just listen to an actual real person tell a real story. The way this song comes from the soul like you’ve never Hurd before. Goose bumps.
Omg. What????!!!! This is absolutely beyond the best. Move over country radio cookie cutter crap see ya!!! Wow. I love this. Those drums and slide/steele guitar. Wow🎉
a friend of mine suggested that country was dead. I suggested he stop listening to the radio and start listening to Tyler, Sturgill, & Colter
Whitey Morgan and cody jinks
Definitely second Whitey Morgan
Cody jinks, Chris Stapleton, the dead south, the steel drivers, the turnpike troubadours, and Brent Cobb . Sturgill ain't really been putting out country lately
Jinks, turnpike, Mike and the moonpies, spur 327 band, John d hale
Check out Brent Cobb, John R. Miller and Vincent Neil Emerson
That pause after, "can't see for all the boozin..........but by God I can keep it together". Perfect. It's all perfect, really.
It would be even better if it wasn't compressed. I bet the dynamics live is fire

I agree it doesn't have an obnoxious pretentious piano
and the steel guitar isn't gratuitous

Danny Hollis I personally think the album version is the worst song on the record, absolutely love original live version.
