Many Gucci gasses are made in Japan, Gucci often uses Japanese frames (especially metals) because they a renowned for their superior craftsmanship and durability. In short, Japanese make some of the best glasses frames available and most premium designers use them, even if assembled in and thus labeled Made in Italy.
The numbers following the model number are the sizing (length, nose bridge width, lens width)

Sorry that they turned out to be less than authentic. I sold some Chanel sunglasses a while back when I was new and assumed that they were real. Now I usually stay away from such items. You bought them cheap, had fun wondering if they were real, learned something and now, GIRL, you be styling them there GUUCCIs!! Have fun, Julie

Great informative video. I just purchased a new pair of sunglasses on ebay and had a concern they may be fake but I do already own a real pair and in the nose pads. They have the double G's on them plus I purchased them at a high end store and paid I high-end price. When I get these new glasses I will definitely go over them with a fine tooth comb.

Wow, this was eye opening! They are getting very good at fakes. Used too, I could just look at something or feel it, and tell it was a cheap reproduction. This one had me going, the whole time while I was watching, I kept saying if I could just pick them up, I could tell. Could you tell by the weight of them? I think I must have missed that in the video. Very imformative!

The cleaning cloth Gucci font size and the other font sizes give them away! As soon as you opened the case I knew but only because I just bought a real pair today and can tell from the parts that came with mine 🙂

When looking at watches the first thing I check is quality of the logo and lettering because that is usually your first clue something is amiss. My neighbor had a "Rolex" she wanted me to check. The logo and lettering were blobby looking under magnification and should have been sharp. From there, I go on to other things.
I've always heard the fake Rolex won't move continuously like the real ones the fake ones will tik tok in and out and Rolex move in a continuous manner around the face is that bs?

I found a pair of these EXACT glasses on the same day you went live with your find. My pair were 50 cents at a thrift store, tossed in a basket with lots of sunglasses. I have been waiting to hear what you determined on your glasses, but meanwhile did my own research. For what it's worth, my research was step-by-step the same as yours and I came to the same conclusion. Give aways: nose piece, light weight, gray cloth, less than perfectly stamped/printed words, and bees. Darn! I will be gifting them to my daughter who will love them! Thanks for your education!

Gucci are making some of there sunglasses in Japan. There are on the Gucci website.
The font on the nosepads doesn't match the font used by GUCCI.That was the giveaway for me.

Great video. I have looked up the serial number to see if they were real too. I had a purse once and the lady thought it was fake and I told her to look up the number inside and in fact she did and it was real. Guess you never know and really need to dig to find out if they are real or not.
How do you verify if the serial number is real? I want to buy a pair of second hand Gucci glasses that are not exactly cheap. I googled the serial number and found the same model but I really don't know what to think.
Even those r faked occasionally but a close look at the stitching etc can usually tell u

that wiki how article is quite miss leading. They are sometimes made in Japan and their weight tends to vary. I have some very light pairs and some pairs that are double as heavy.

I have a pair that are made in Japan , and that did rub off but they are authentic. Good job investigating. The nose pad was a dead giveaway.
It's so difficult with luxury goods. In China they sell super premium fakes they label as AAA or AAAA, these are typically more money but closer to an authentic item. Even coming with "authentication" documents, accurate packaging, and accessories. I look for for all of the suggested indications plus very minor details like the kerning of the letters in the logo. With luxury, the devil is in the details.

I heard the frames and instantly “these are fake” same with the nosepiece. They have that cheap sound to the frames.
..the lettering CAN and WILL rub off. Primally the “Made in..” side. The serial number takes a lot longer.

I received the glasses today. I love them. Everything seems authentic but the only thing is there is no Made in Italy on the glasses which is alarminga d no authentication card with glasses. The seller gave me a good excuse for not having the card but the fact it doesn't say made in Italy is a problem for me. All of the gucci items I own says it's made in Italy so I will be going to a gucci store and have them checked out.

Some one said Gucci’s website says they’re made in Japan. Gucci has manufacturing buildings in the Italy and France area as well. Idk what the hell she was looking at but Gucci doesn’t have pictures of their merchandise with where it’s made on the ear clutch, only in person will you see it

Most bin veterans....know that any designer stuff at the bins is going to be fake....at least the top brands that are heavily faked....raybans have a mark on the lens that is holographic that is very hard to duplicate....
Also just fyi sort of misguided bit of info online i see often that's misleading ppl is where Gucci glasses are actually made which most are yes made in Italy. But some are truly authentic are made in Japan & are titanium which is the why for deviating to this location the actual metal. Not all say Italy for examples of some authentic Japan models look at Amazon but keep in mind I've seen about 50% of their products not just Gucci be actual counterfeit & that number was alot more like 20% prior to our break we a just had.

When you opend the case i knew they were fake.. the cloth gave it away immediately and also the inside of the case .. the glasses sounded cheap and plastic .. and the glass itself were cheap plastic ones and not scratch resistent.. so many giveaways .. hope you didn't pay to much .

well that was sad even their fat lil bee made yours look like a zom-bee. but it was still exciting to find them and think for a minute they might be real. lol i'd wear them once i found out they were knock offs and i wasn't going to kill a real pair of designer glasses
Thanks for the video. I just got a pair that said made in Japan. I researched and seen Kering in Japan bought some of Gucci. So now making in Japan n Italy. It seems ridiculous because you can buy sunglasses from Japan for $10 but because there making Gucci there few hundred. I'm really disappointed in Gucci letting all there customers down. But it's all about money n cheap labor. So sad😂
Japan certainly makes high quality Gucci eyewear. I'm not going to speak of other glasses made in Japan but the Gucci's are high quality. Seeing a lot of uninformed comments..

i think the glasses are real and being in the thrifting community when you find a good steal and other people dont they seem a little jealous and tell you they arent authentic. seems like everything matches to me. if not its pretty darn close. i just ordered some Gucci glasses and i paid so much for them im kind of scared to research lol. happy thrifting.

Fake cuz they sound flimsyAF when ya move em around they sound like they're gonna fall apart whenever u touch em but the serial number not name of Gucci is etched into the lense im purdy sure & Gucci should b on the side arm inside. And one of the biggest fakes I actually see a lot is the inside arm printed info usually is starting to come or rub off either fr wear or just plain being cheap & as I understood this, that should be ever happen no matter what when authentic.
I think the weight & feel fake bs authenticate is usually the most obvious indicator you can tell & feel a real bag or pair of sunasses right away without costing or looking at anything

You must have very bad eyes, or you’re just not used to looking at expensive eyewear. Just from initial glance you can tell these are fake, the textures are really bad and cheap, it’s hard to explain but there will always be a certain sheen/fit and finish to an authentic item that counterfeiters just cannot duplicate, these don’t have that. Plus there’s a million glaring flaws, bad text, atrocious nose pads, bad materials, bargain hinges and lenses, everything is bad.. just listen to the way they clunk around, they are awkward and do not have a general luxurious feel to them.
