Thank you Brandie Carlisle for reminding us the precious helpfulness of Loretta Lynn coal miners daughter she went out of her way to help other singers and you emphasize that and that you would do the same in your career 😢
🤗🤗🤗
How are you feeling today my friend
Hope you're doing good will love to have you as a great friend
@Linda Bentley Loretta Lynn died October 4, 2022.
I was absolutely heartbroken when i heard of Loretta Lynn's passing. She is and always will be an inspiration to women across the world. She is never truly gone. Her and her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family, friends and her fans. Long live the queen of country music.
Thanks for having us!
You were wonderful, sang with so much grit and feeling... this performance will be a classic and cherished in the future, hope you are proud ❣
This is the one song I will always remember and the movie she done as well. A very well done job ! We love you Miss Loretta! ❤
She wasn't in the movie it was about her but Sissy spacek played her...
She's a wonderful singer 🥰
How are you feeling today 😊
@@danieljohn281 oh, yes she was .
@@debsmith1956 Sissy Spacek won an Oscar from that movie and became super famous. Sissy also did all the singing herself. She and Loretta became very close friends, as well.
@@debsmith1956 lol folks are funny as hell, thanks for correcting.
Wow OMG what a fabulous tribute to one of the iconic original Southern Honky Tonk celebrated charismatic Country First Lady, & the myriad of accolades that bestowed the late & gracious Loretta Lynn over the multitude of decades. The alluring array of female Country superstar singers: Jennifer Nettles, Miranda Lambert, Reba McEntire, Martina McBride, Carrie Underwood & the late Naomi & Wynonna Judd. I watched the biopic movie & fell in love with the Southern Charm & especially emotionally moved by the lyrics of the Coalminer's daughter, tears of heartache & memories of abject poverty in the olden days cascaded & streamed down my cheeks & face. Even though our society is experiencing challenges, this song tugs at my soul & heart strings, of how precious life is & that we should be kind & compassionate to all mankind. Embrace inclusion & diversity, Amen. May our Almighty Heavenly Father bless & comfort us all in the eternal loving name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Amen.🙏✌🤞👌👍🤚👋🤘🤙✊👊👄💖💕💓❤💘💋💗💙💚🧡🧡💜💌❣💟💞💝Rest in Peace, Lady Loretta Lynn✨🎇🎆🎈🎉🎊🎋🎁🎀
This is a perfect song to use as a special tribute to the late country queen!
Miss you Loretta I grew up on your songs. Rest in heavenly sweet lady
A strong emotional connection to literature, painting, song, or illustrious person that is the kind of sentiment Loretta Lynn evokes. I saw her film biography and can identify as my grandmother was a strong resilient woman of humble beginnings.
😀 Wow, what a great sound and the crowd loved it too
This was so great in person!
Lorreta Lynn is sure going to be really missed by a lot of people who knew her
That was awesome job! It was heartfelt and joyful, the lyrics just shine! All 4 of them were wonderful! Thank you Highwomen
Great job Highwomen
Great job ladies!! ❤
Very nicely sang tribute !
Incredibile come queste cantanti abbiano delle voci così coinvolgenti.❤❤❤❤
So good
The highway women singing Loretta Lynn cover coal miners daughter wonderful tribute
Beautiful tribute! You all sounded wonderful!!!
Loretta Lynn performed Coal Miner’s Daughter with a lot of love and heart💕💕💕💕💕
Sorry yall but, Natalie's the best one on this song. She sings as close to Loretta as you can get. You go girl !!
It’s not about sounding like Loretta, it’s a tribute! Why do you have to be such, negative Nancy. People like you is what’s wrong with the world
So much today feels like we are closing the book on a better world.
Beautiful u all were fabulous love it
BEAUTIFUL!!!
Ma che bella musica Mi sono appassionato sentendo i cantanti, uno più bravo dell'altro. Che gran spettacolo ❤❤
Nice beautiful song
Love it.☘
The first singer really does sound like a coal Miner's Daughter. And I think they did a fine job. All are great singers. I'm sure Loretta would be proud.
I thought the first singer sounded a lot like Loretta Lynn too. Her name is Amanda Shires. She's also a very good fiddle player.
Are you guys deaf because she did the worse out of all of them. They butchered this song.
Think again.
Such a pretty version of this. Love it.
Well done, ladies!
Lovely photo xx
👏🎶🎙💕
It would be nice if told each singers name. Country music has changed so much I don't know any of these girls.
Either do I I grew up listening to Loretta Lynn and everyone from that time period. Funny thing is I wasn’t born until 2003. But tbh it’s something about the older generations that made country what it is. Personally I like the old stuff better than what’s out now.
This group is called The Highwomen. Starting from the left is Amanda Shires, Brittany Spencer, Brandi Carlile, and Natalie Hemby. Brittany Spencer is not an original member. She was filling in for Maren Morris. Hope this helps🙂
From what I heard here, I don’t believe you’ve missed anything. They could have gotten someone much better to sing Loretta’s most famous song. Maybe even someone who could sing on pitch. This borders on disgraceful IMO.
Only heard of Belinda Carlisle. Personally, I don’t think they have very good voices. There are singers at my church who would put them to shame. I guess it really is about being in the right place at the right time to get heard and sign a recording contract.
Only knew one
What are the names of the high women
This is who they found to sing this? Wow
I know Brandi Carlisle, but don't know the other ones. I guess I'm out of the loop.
Brandi , la voce più bella
😔
Amanda you are so beautiful!
🤍
No one can ever match the original so don’t be too harsh on this tribute.
Nobody is, except for you. Racism is showing
Complimenting Loretta Lynn’s song about her childhood is racist? Saying previous comments were being too harsh on this tribute is racist? You are lost and I hope you find your way back home.
Carlile Carried.
I thought Maren Morris was also a part of the Highwomen?
She couldn't be there for some reason.
She’s on tour currently
Was…. Until she approves of sex changes for children. Also known as promoting child abuse !!!
Take a seat, lil Travis…
😟😟😟
Carrie reba and Miranda kept it original
i just realized all their outfits were worn by loretta at some point....
Good performance but really distracted by the one girls face with rhinestones. Bit tacky for a tribute.
😣
I love the Highwomen but I think this should’ve been by Wy, Patty Loveless, and Rebecca Lynn Howard. The East KY women
Patty Lovelace should have sang this at the memorial.
This just sad
I thought they did a great job.
If you are going to sing a song that belongs to any artist especially one of the magnitude of Loretta Lynn, sing it the way it is written, both the lyrics and the music should be accurate.
Can someone please tell me who the dark skinned lady is please. I really like her voice.
Britney Spencer…..buttery voice
@@skippy9659 thank you
No clue who any of them are
Did they mean " Highway Women" ?
Nope, that's what they call their group. I've always wondered why they don't call themselves 'The Highway Women' instead of 'The Highwomen.' Do they not realize the name makes it sound like they're high on drugs? Ridiculous name.
@@MsJourneyfan When they released their first single, I wondered about their name as well and after doing some research I found that the name Highway Women was taken and they had been releasing music years before the Highwomen.
I would've rather seen Kathy mattea, patty loveless, Reba, faith hill
I totally agree. These ladies have no character to their singing, apart from maybe the 2nd vocalist. I feel sorry for Loretta. She's an music icon and deserved so much better. CMT ought to be ashamed!!
Whats with the auto tuning with the first woman
This is truly terrible.
😅
This has to be the worst version of this song I’ve ever heard
This song should have been sung by her family members. Her sisters or her granddaughter.
@@eileenbalonis4894 I agree this song was too important
@@Rs-dr4fw not one of them sounded good. You nailed it when you said the worst version of this song.
100%. This is terrible.
The most important song of the service and the absolute worse. Couldn’t they find someone else to sing it?
Idk who these ladies are but they butchered Ms Loretta's song. Especially the 1st lady singing. So sad. Like another person said they should've let ladies like Reba, Martina, Trisha and a few other do this. Even Kelly Clarkson would've been my choice.
Who tf are these people
The performance would've been better if the band just played.
Lip sinc
Such a flat performance. I love the Highwomen but this was just not that good which is disappointing considering how important this song is.
Amanda needs to work on strengthening her voice instead of focusing on her appearance.
This is absolute garbage and these women should be ashamed about this. Anyone who says this is good must not have really listened to this
It's so cringey, the one girl trying to sound like Loretta. "We didn't have shoes to wuuur"
LMAO have you ever heard Brandi Carlile? That's her voice.
@@kas_xo I have. It's not.
Loretta would never have dressed this way a slit up to to sey you next Tuesday
Maybe not but people thought her song "The Pill" was too slutty.
I totally agree. She looked so tacky. She reminded me of the kind of female characters Loretta wrote about. Fist City and Women of the world comes to mind.
She certainly wouldn't have. She was a gracious lady. She actually (as we all know) had talent!
Wow terrible...
Completely awful attempt at a tribute. For a song so iconic and a lady who was the queen of country, they should've gotten some better singers to sing this classic. These ladies butchered Loretta's song. Where's Tanya? She could've pulled this off easily. This is an embarrassment.
God is lucky to have there
Who are these chicks? I don't like this whole scraping the bottom of the talent barrel for a tribute to a wonderful woman like Loretta. They should have had a genuine talent like Carrie Underwood perform Loretta's most iconic song... not these randoms.
I couldn't agree more. These singers sound so unremarkable and the audience looks bored. Loretta had a unique voice and sang with enormous charm and attitude. It seems CMT used the event to highlight artists for record companies, as opposed to properly paying tribute to Loretta Lynn, a remarkable music icon.
@@michelleb3698 Yes! Precisely and thank you for saying it better haha.
They could have found someone better to do that song it was OK but not that great should have had her sister Crystal Gayle do it
Brandi should of had done this song alone. Girl on her right wasn't too bad. I couldn't get past what ever that was on the first girls face to really listen. But it wasn't a bad performance.
They were fantastic, some of people no longer hide your racism
@pamalakiser5373 Brandi had already performed shortly before this singing Patsy Cline's "She's Got You". They weren't going to have her perform two songs solo.
This was unbearable to listen to.
Absolutely awful. Such a disgrace to Loretta's memory.
Love the song.. just not by these women
One of the worst renditions I've ever heard of this amazing song!! Way to butcher a classic!! I can't believe this was the choice to close out this beautiful tribute show 😡
Terrible
I have liked The High Women on other songs. Missing Maren hurts. First girl sounded sick. Not a huge fan of this one.
Amanda Shires has the voice of an angel ! How dare you sir!
@@nickarndt4126 Well she butchered this song.
Omg really you just killed this song the rock and Kelly do a far rendition terrible terrible
🤗🤗🤗
How are you feeling today my friend
Hope you're doing good will love to have you as a great friend
What a disgrace to this beautiful song! Brandi was the only one who was great:(
I agree, but I didn't think Brandi was any good either. She's not a bad singer, she's just not suited to that song, IMO. This was embarrassing.
Trash 🗑
This is terrible.. shame on these women for doing this to Lorettas song
🤗🤗🤗
How are you feeling today my friend
Hope you're doing good will love to have you as a great friend
That was 😳😬🤢🤮🙄
The best singer here is Brandi and she didn't even do that great
Brandi is awesome. The others? Are they singers? Terrible.
They really think they did something here… only thing they did was butcher a great song by a legend!
I thought they didn't exceptional job! The first singer, Amanda Shires, especially sounded like Loretta to me. She is also an excellent fiddle player.
Worst version of this song I have heard. They should be embarrassed.
This is the most WOKE version of this song I ever seen! TERRIBLE!
CMT Too bad you never cared to notice when or where this took place. Jesus, how stoned can you get?
This sounded kind of flat. Like they didn’t put that feeling into it. Just too soft and uneventful. Go listen to Sara Evans sing Stand by your man. THAT is how it’s done!
"Go listen to Sara Evans sing Stand by your man. THAT is how it’s done!" Thank you, completely agree!
Here are a few albums worth every cent you will spend. Martina McBride (Timeless), Patty Loveless (Sleepless Nights), LeAnn Rimes has two "tribute" albums. Anthony Wilson (My Friend The Jukebox), for me, is one of THE best cover albums I have, Vince Gill & Paul Franklin on steel guitar put out Bakersfield. There will be many who don't agree with my choices but I don't regret buying any of them.
Two more suggestions, Tribute To Tradition (different artists), Alan Jackson (Under The Influence) Love them all, miss traditional country and what they play now is nowhere near country, hasn't been for many, many years. Not saying those who call themselves a country artist can't sing, am saying their music is not even remotely country, period. Put a different name on it, place it in a different genre.
