    If you have a black face plate, you can use clear PVC that you find on packaging, and a layer or two of black window tint in order to create something you can see through.

    FYI For the person that asked about the big rolls of masking paper at 1:49:18 Home Depot normally has the bigger rolls (2 feet long+) by the tarps in the paint section. I worked at a few Home Depots and that's where they usually were stocked.

    You should invert the camera on your left (birds eye) so that we see what you see, instead of seeing an upside down version of what you see. Just a suggestion.

    hey man sweet project maan, hey can you figure out a way to somehow make one side of the helmet see through and another side look solid like most of the Titan helmets in destiny this would help a lot!!

    Could you use Play Doh instead of foil to fill in ? I know you did say that you could do some clay on it, since its not for a molding use, i thought that it could be use as molding compound that still will stick on your head model and could be mold more easily... my two cents! :)

    isnt it possible to put some sort of mini vr device like google vr inside the helmet? dock your phone in some panel with stronger lens so the focal distance is greatly reduced and put a camera in the middle, a small camera at least to see where you're going ... :D

    I love watching these videos. Huge thanks for doing these. I have to get off my butt and donate to the patreon already. When you are live, what kind of delay do you notice to the UA-cam stream? I have not been able to watch you live but i tried a stream once and noticed a 33 sec delay that got longer as it went on.

    Hey Bill, Are you going to add more layers of epsilon to your chest armor? I currently am testing 6 layers, and I would say 4+ layers is really what worked for me, it sucked to do that many but in the end I am a lot happier then 2, if you get cracks do you think adding epsilon to fill and repair the cracks would work?

    When using contact cement do you need to use a breather for it. I use hot glue atm but im tempted to try contact cement but always paranoid about buying breathers / respirators.

    3 hours for half a helmet? I understand its a process, however in that length of time, surely you could have been further into the project. Do you intend to stream the remainder of the build? If so, how many more episodes?

Since this is my first full body armor build and I've never done helmets before, do you think the Breather Version would be very difficult? Question: Working on my chest armor and tried connecting the back and front together using neodyniumum magnets. Seems to not be strong enough. I used 3 1/2 inch magnets on each piece connecting. I hallowed out an area for the magnet and used 2mm foam to cover. Any advice.

    • @TheElectronicDoctor
      @TheElectronicDoctor 9 років тому

      Had the same problem. I found using clip on magnets (which I got from Walmart) worked really well and they are pretty cheap. They are strong (though I have found one or two really weak magnets in the bunch which didn't work) and hold everything together really well. Hope this helps

    What do you think of plastazote foam ? i cant find any EVA supplier here in France :(

    • @invictusaeterna7444
      @invictusaeterna7444 9 років тому

      I already tried plastazote and I don't really like it. It's very flimsy and doesn't heat form very well like EVA, you could try using plastazote as a core material for other thermoplastics like worbla etc.

    • @Quinafx
      @Quinafx 9 років тому

      Maverick Zero
      the pastazote does heat form, it works the same way, its a type of EVA but usually more dense, use a heat gun instead of a hair dryer, it also works great for a shine final look if you heat it enough, it creates a "film" over the surface

    • @invictusaeterna7444
      @invictusaeterna7444 9 років тому +1

      Yeah sorry I've mistaken plastazote with polyethylen foam my bad... And I own a heatgun and work with the EVA floormats by myself and I really love them :D if you want visit my Facebook page if you want to see some of my work^^
