G'day Assassin, That was an amazing build. Being a military aircraft modeller, it would be the huge decals that would have, and do, put me off such a model. Anything much bigger than a national roundel sends shivers through my spine! Like those tiny white spiral lines on the engine spinner cone would give me nightmares. There are folks that just don't like decals and I'm one of them. You, on the other hand, did a tremendous finished job, despite your difficulties. I also would not have thought that a civilian aircraft model would have so many fiddly little details, like military aircraft models, but they do which makes them much more interesting to me. I might do a compromise and model one of those Boeing 737s they use in place of the PC3 Orions for maritime reconnaissance. Lots of civil airliner details but only small decals and mostly in shades of Air Force grey. You really opened my eyes to the attraction of trying to model civil aircraft. Thanks for that and your excellent video. Cheers, BH
Thank you very much! I agree with you on wanting to see all the tiny details with the antennas, pitot tubes, etc. Some of the common airliners have photo etch sets so thats an added plus. www.metdetails.com might have some photoetch that could make your 737 build more exciting. I like to rotate between civilian airliners / military planes because there are some colorful special liveries that just look cool IMO. Getting that big decal aligned properly was harder than building the actual plane though.
That's one big plane in all aspects....amazing job on the build, in particular the decals. You sure do have a steady hand when applying those so well done.
@Pierce Gavin thanks for your reply. I found the site on google and im trying it out atm. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Very nice result. Working with huge decals over a curved surface is a real challenge. I have this kit in my stash. I will pick an easier livery decal like Air France or so. I recently received the Zvezda A350-1000 and is Huge. More videos of airliners, please.
This is easily the largest plane I've built and I can only imagine if it was a 1000. I definitely enjoy the creative liveries on airliners and have more in the works.
Loved the video - good job on this kit. I am doing my first jet liner - the Airbus A320 - can you tell me what you do with the all the passenger windows? do you use the clear inserts, or do you just use the decal provided to make it look like there are windows in place? certainly you don't actually mask off each window right?
Thank you, and thats faster than me lol. Looking at the dates on my first and last video files, I spent 2 months on this. However, I usually have at least 2 builds going on concurrently (you can check the "about" tab on my channel page to see what Im working on). I had 2 hrs 20 min of raw footage, but Ive never really timed myself. Id guess 15-20 total hrs went into this build which is on the low end. Some of my military models with photo etch and resin have ~5 hrs of raw footage.
It's just a preference of mine. I feel like it takes a lot of time to mask the windows before painting. I think the decal windows look good so I just use them instead
Yay a new video🎊

@Pierce Gavin It did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. I'm so happy!
Thanks so much, you saved my account!
@Bobby Jorge Glad I could help :D

Congrats with the decals!
Thanks, I was pleased with how they came out
Water under the big decals, so you can have to proper time to fix it as you like.
It's gorgeous!
Thanks!
Amazing. Im working on the a350 „old“ lufthansa right now
Same! Videos will be on my channel soon 😉
Thanks, I still like the "old" lufthansa livery more than their current livery
THAT IS A AWESOME JOB DONE!!🤗🤗🤗😍😍😍
👍👍👍👍👍
VERY WELL MADE SIR

Thanks! For the windows, I used the clear inserts as a backstop for the putty I put over them. The final product you see is the decal windows
@@ScaleModelAssassin excellent, thanks for the tip!
Very good work
Thanks! 👍
I think you can make model vax to make it shining.
That build definitely looked difficult, Great job pulling it off, how long was the total build time IRL?
I’m doing it now and it takes around 3-4 weeks to build 👍

Why did you paint over the windows of the fuselage instead of leaving the clear white plastic windows?
It's just a preference of mine. I feel like it takes a lot of time to mask the windows before painting. I think the decal windows look good so I just use them instead
Really great!👏👏👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Where are you buying the decals for this plane and where do you find other planes
They are from 8A decals. I also use Draw Decal. Those are my 2 favorites
very nice job!
👍👍👍
I wanna see you do a a380, idc what airline :D
Perhaps one day...wish I could get one in a smaller scale though.
@@ScaleModelAssassin yeah true! 1:144 is gigantic
Did the thing come with the color and paint materials?
No it only comes with the plastic model and the decals for Lufthansa
so good amazing
Thanks 👍
I will be doing an Airbus A350 Singapore
👍👍👍
Wow...nice!!!
Thank you!
🎉🎊😍😍😍
