- It's time for this owner to review my Royal Enfield Himalayan. In my review I will talk about the good and the bad about the Himalayan. I will give my honest opinion and point out what I like and don't like.
Loving my 22 himi. I've got 1500k miles so far and love every mile. I've heard a lot about the front brake but it works great for me. I've been tempted to do my own review but there are so many reviews already. I love cruising 55 to 60, such a great feeling.
I feel the same about the brake. 55 to 60 is a sweet zone. I've had to stay at 70mph for a bit and didn't like the revs it was pulling. Keep riding!!! Thanks for watching.
Best thing about your video was the special Olympics portion. Bless you man!
Agree 100%, thank you!
Hi there, here's a few comments written as I watch the film :
1. The Tripper - I reckon it is great and I use it nearly every day. It gives out simple pieces of info in a clear format.
2. The brakes - The brakes on my 2022 Himi are excellent but if you are used to sporty twin discs up front and only needing to use the front, you're doing it wrong. Using both brakes simultaneously and my bike stops like a good'un.
3. Tyres - my bike came with CEAT Indian tyres and they were great from the outset on and offroad. Back tyre lasted 9000 KMS.
4. Fuel consumption - I average 105 mpg (4.5 ltr gallon) or 2.7 ltrs per 100 kms.
I agree, the brakes are good on my RE Himmy. I've heard others complain but I've had to stop quick and the Himmy stopped.
I have a 2019 Himalayan. Love it so much I bought an additional RE, namely a Meteor 350. Both good bikes, excellent value for money and contain RE's DNA: SOUL.
I'm really interested in riding some of their other RE bikes. I'm starting to see more and more of them here in Tennessee.
I only have about 600 miles on my 2022 Himalayan and I concur with your assessment. I tried to use the nav system and found it to be more trouble than it's worth. I actually chose the Himie over the Scram because it was feature rich for just a few more dollars. Although a lot of owners say the brakes are great, I was wondering if they were talking about the same bike. Your experience and mine are the same. Thanks for the warning about the kickstand spring, I will keep an eye on it. Congrats to Zoe for her great performance in track and field👏👏👏.
The fun factor is high on the Himmy!! Thanks for the comments and watching Zoe!
great video love the royal enfields. I have fond memories of the special olympics when they were held in Ireland had 2 athletes staying with me.
Special Olympics is so important for all the athletes. Thank you for supporting them.
Excellente analyse, je vous rejoins sur pratiquement tous les points, à part peut-être le Trippy que RE offre gratuitement, ce qui renforce encore le côté 'good value for money' de cette Himalayan. Et bravo Zoé !
Thanks for commenting! Definitely a good value and I plan on putting many miles on it. Zoe is a superstar!! Thank you
Enjoyed your review and great job Zoe!!!
Glad you liked it!! Zoe is awesome! She's a fighter.
Awesome review and thanks for sharing big love from Australia 😊
Thank you, enjoy the ride!
RE customer service is terrible, parts are really hard to get. It would be cool to have a 650 motor in it. Its gutless. It does handle really well, looks retro cool. Rode 80 miles last weekend, riding to Natchez Trace this week.
Thankfully I haven't needed any parts yet. 650 engine might break it a part but would be cool. Have a great ride!
Tell Zeo she is a champion. Looks like everyone there had a great time! Where did you buy your GPS mount? I really like the chrome look. Great bike overview. I always tell everyone that it is plan fun to ride. Ride Safe
The mount works great, from SRC moto. Yes, we're paying for fun! worth every penny. Great day for all the kids and Zoe powers through alot, she is a champion. Thank you.
Hi, thanks for the review. I have a 22, and I really like it! Re: the tripper, I actually use it (!). It's not super sophisticated obviously, but it connects well with the phone, and I find it useful enough that I don't need my phone out for most rides. I am using a Beeline as well on my other bike, so I am used to the format. Good riding!
Thanks for watching. Glad your getting some use of the tripper. I probably should give it another go.
The engine is very unstressed and I assume the owner could see 100,000km before a rebuild so long as they do the services. A very very nice bike to own, better brake pad’s improve the brakes the welds look rubbish like you say but I haven’t heard of any failures of the welds. Harris engineering designed the frame for RE so no wonder it rides so well above it’s market price. Love your honesty in the review ❤
I agree with your take on the engine, I plan to put a ton of miles on it. I'll be interested to see what changes with good pads. I'm not familiar with Harris engineering, glad to know its a good company. Thanks for the input!!
@@skitchonwheels
Harris performance used to be big, they know how to tune a bike frame, they're worth a look at wiki.
No wonder royal Enfield trusted them for most of their bikes.
It does look amazing
OMG, 50 mpg? I was disappointed when I was getting 62. Granted, in Central Ohio I'm doing mostly road driving.
I hear ya, there were times I think I hit 60 but though something must be wrong. I don't even monitor anymore because it's so dang good. I will test the distance till empty if I start doing overnights in the boonies.
@@skitchonwheels With the costs of gas I was just trying to see how efficient it was for transportation. As a result I've kept a log of every drop of fuel put into it. That eliminates, hopefully, the whole "tank half full" question. I know the type of riding is a huge factor though.
How many miles is left in your tank when it tells your low?
@@skitchonwheels every time I've put gas in it, it has said I was low... So far it has never taken more than 2.5 gallons.
Having never run it empty though, I don't really know.
my 23 doesn't have the NAV on it
the brakes are so so i find i need to ride it differently to allow for more stopping time as they just aren't sharp and crisp but in fairness, i didn't get this for performance lol off road brakes are more than fine
welds? eh adds to its primitive look lol
overall super fun and capable machine
nice job
Thanks for watching and commenting. Did they stop putting the Navigation on the 23 models?
@@skitchonwheels They apparently stopped due to "chip shortages". Supposedly you can order it as an option on the 23.
@@skitchonwheels must have ..... mine def doesn't have it
The Himalayan is in a class of it's own. I must have had a conscientious robot, my 2018's welds look fine. If you fancy yourself riding around in your own Indiana Jones movie, you'll love it! just don't be in a hurry. 😄
It would fit right into the Iindiana Jones movies
7k? Damn have the prices been skyrocketing? I see them everywhere near me under 6k....I'm in the market for a gently used one and see them around 4-5k all day.
7k = tax, prep, dealer fees? you know how they do ya. If you can get a lightly used for $4k-$5k I would take that deal. I have seen a few like that.
@@skitchonwheels gotcha man, I certainly will once I'm in the market in August. Great video btw, makes me excited to get my hands on mine.
I really like the special effects, could do without the background music when you talk though...
I will keep that in mind. Thank you for watching and the advice.
Used the tripper once. No good.
yep kinda a waste
