In order for you to fix this kind of issue. Try to clean the nozzle of the black ink cartridge with clean damp cloth and then after that, try to clean as well the electric ports of the cartridge using a distilled water on the cotton budds, and after you clean it, please use free damp cloth again to wipe the electric ports of the cartridge until it dries. After that put it back in on the printhead and restart your printer by unplugging the power cable of the printer on the wall outlet and wait until 1 minute before plugging back the power cable on the wall outlet. However if the issue still persist then try to use your extra black ink cartridge.

Guys i solved this problem: My black light was blinking, i tried to replace black cartridge - no solution, so i put there old black cartridge and problem still: color cartridge ok, black cartridge blinking. solution: I try to replace color cartridge which software and printer mark as "GOOD". And printer working now. I dont know why, but problem wasnt in cartridge which printer MARK as FAILED. but problem was in color cartridge which printer MARK as GOOD.
Hello People,here is the solution..Firstly see if the black ink cartidge has ink in it,if not fill it (you may see many youtube videos regarding hp803 filling).2nd-Make sure you clean all the copper film sensor areas in the cartridge with a wet ear bud tip and later dry it using a tissue or dry ear bud.Do the same process in the printer catridge holder(ear bud technique) before installing the Cartridge.3rd- Hold Power button for 60 seconds to reset the printer and if that dosent work,uninstall the hp printer software and re install the latest version which is aviable in hp website...and walla, u r Cartridge will be recognised.Also to note - worst case senario- The copper attachments to the cartridge is worn off and u may have to buy a new cartridge or the printer port holding the copper connections to the cartridge is worn off and must be replaced...
No Sir...With all the above tricks, still, the black cartridge is not recognised and glowing all the while showing "Ink Status NIL".... Resetting technique is not rightly said here. Just by pressing power butten for 60 seconds wont "reset" the printer. I even unstalled the Drivers using my laptop reinstalled the total drivers new one from HP Site....Still the story remains the same : Black cartridge not recognised. Now I have yet ordered a fresh cartridge from Amazon and let us see what happens after installing it...Thanks
Looks like a total fake about "connector". Power line is one "connector" after connecting of this ONLY the printer initiates its functions. Thus if the connector has a problem, the printer wont start functions at all. Then how the "black cartridge" LED glow all the while ?? Power line has only two links : Neutral and Phase as you all know.... Wish if the "connector" (?) Which One : is NOT properly said here. ".....finally my other video i already replace black cartridge connector is gone" is not well spelt about "which connector"???

Had this issue many times during the past weeks, don't know why but it popped out after 2 years of using this Printer without probs. Ok if not because your color cartridge is finished (it made me buy a genuine tri-color cartridge to partially solve this) here's a quick solution. If your USB cable is connected you try to print normally and the blinking happens, prints like half page, or nothing at all ---> ON THE PRINTER BUTTONS PRESS AND HOLD "ON/OFF" AND THEN "X / CANCEL" AND RELEASE THEM (it will print a test page) but the clue is ----> While doing this open HP SMART on the Printer Status and it will tell you "Cartridge Used or Counterfeit if you believe this is not the case..." click YES and OK to whatever page is after and then try to print again. Hope this helps people like me in need to print on everyday basis and always spend hours trying to get it working. Cheers,

When i put it inside the printer the tri-color is still blinking, indicating that the cartridge is empty. I tried holding both the power and X button but after it prints a test page it's goes back to blinking again. Please help me i've bought 2 tri color inks thinking the first one might be the problem but now i think it's not...
@@dharshak1297 thanks but when we did take it back to the place we bought it from, they told us that the dots on the cartridge wasn't lining up to the ones with the printer or something like that, it's a while now, but they did exchange it and gave is a printer to replace that,

When your press (Power) + (X) keys combination and that prints printer information page and you can't print any document because of black cartridge lights blinking means cartridge is been blocked. HP support will never say that its blocked bez these are blocked bez of printing count exceeded max count and we are refilling the cartridge. 'Solution': Buy new expensive cartridge and enjoy printing ;)

Iske possible solution h ki ink ko refill k time overflow mat hone do and contact points par hath mat lagne do. Uske alawa ink tank bhi laga sakte, mene 300-400 pages bhi print kiye ink tank se colorful bina problem k.
Lol if you touch the metal part of the categories then the catridge will not work you have to purchase a new one. so if you want to work your cartridge properly don't touch that metal part after just opening the cell simply put it on the printer.

I had a similar problem and found the solution. In your laptop, delete all hp plugins and hp app. Then reinstall them. This seems to work.
