Great content! I want to see more videos like this on how workouts are structured to achieve goals. Everybody focuses on the neat new drill but nobody talks about how it fits in a training program. I want to learn more about organizing workouts and even periodizing training goals.
As a baseball player, I will never understand how guys train in non-athletic/non-trainer shoes... Like I cannot physically hit well if i don't feel like i am planted into the ground... There are seldom any days I am hitting in any shoe that is not a turf, trainer, or cleat. I don't understand how guys can hit in 270's, in Tommy's case, dunks, AF1, or any shoe that can slip and slide around. For me, I'm hitting in a turf trainer that sticks me to the ground, or a pair of metcons that are solid!!
As with any jump to the “next level”. There will be an adjustment period for a hitter. Now everyone’s stuff is better. However one thing I know for sure is they’ve said this to him at 13 about going to high school, In high school when going to IMG, at IMg about going to the ACC and then gain about going to the SEC. Welp. This is another instance of the next level. Good hitters adjust, you don’t have one of the best college hitting careers ever without being talented, Talent wins most of the time👊🏻
Hey man! I’ve had coaches use this angled soft toss method to help with bat path and adjustability to pitches. Summers and their hitting coaches probably have a significantly more in depth reasoning but it’s helped me in that way
@@jaivanstrength5947I just started doing this with my 10 yo daughter. We have progressed to the point where we are trying to be intentional about where we are hitting the ball in the zone on front toss, not just taking hacks. The angles make it so you have to have proper bat path and connect in the zone where you intend to be able to hit it where you want to.
Congrats on being drafted! Good luck Tommy and Colby.
absolute gold content right here Summers. Nice work.
this content keeps getting better and better and looking forward to the next one. TGRTG

i think tommy could swing in flip flops and be fine.. he’s that balanced and comfortable with his movements
Has Tommy lost a couple pounds?
Looks like it
I’d bet he had some predraft workouts and wanted to show a step faster speed.
I hope I'm wrong but I worry for Tommy at the next level.

Why do you toss it from an angle?
