I only grow a “bush” variety of raspberries in huge pots but yes there are two types of canes and both require different pruning. Looks a beautiful sunny day, I assume it didn’t last 😢. Happy weekend everyone hope it’s nice and calm, Ali 🥶🌧️🇨🇦
@@myrustygarden of course the sunshine didn’t last 😩🥶. Very cold here now unfortunately. I expect that my raspberry pruning confidence and knowledge will grow over the years 🤞🏼😊 Have a great weekend.
Bit confused by this. Summer fruiting raspberries should leave green canes for next years fruiting. Aurumn fruiting canes should all be cut back to the ground in winter for new canes to grow through the summer.. I usually do this Feb. Are you sure yours aren't autumn fruitinv
@@katherinehopkins6511 I’m not sure at all 🤷🏼♀️ It’s all a learning experiment on the raspberry pruning. It’s likely I have more than one variety though😊
I normally prune my raspberries all down every year, they always grow back strong as ever. New growths tend to produce better fruits.
@@makcity7850 that’s good to know, thanks 😀. Hopefully mine grow back next year too!

Binge watching Boxing day New Zealand as had been working long hours, may watch two videos, as I need to go out and water the tunnelhouse.
@@helenstewart2085 it’s strange that you are in summer and doing the watering and we are in winter with not much if anything at all growing
