Have you considered using 8 to 10 ft supports for your sunflowers? They are so pretty. It's a shame they snap in the high winds.
That's worth pricing up, thanks for the suggestion :) I don't have any that tall at the moment but maybe it's something i could look into for next year so that I don't lose the sunflowers in the wind.

Some amazing harvests. Oh yuk I won’t touch slugs with my hands they carry disease 🦠 I’ve been told and they are slimy 😅. We like carrot and turnip mash 😂 my husband thought they were good raw but they aren’t and they give you bad gas 😮. Good rescue on the sunflower 🌻. Have an amazing weekend, Ali ☔️☔️🇨🇦
I don't touch them with just my hands because they're slimey i'd probably scream! Haha. I hadn't thought about putting it into mash, thanks for the suggestion. As for trying them raw, i'll pass on that one thanks! Have a great weekend :)

Aren’t bolted lettuce a stunning plant, too bad they go bitter. WOW awesome harvests 😮 I have 1 cucumber 😂😂. Stunning dahlias I have a few but none as beautiful that yellow and pink one. Prune prune weed and feed it must be August. Have a wonderful sunny weekend, Ali 🌞🇨🇦
Yes lots of bolted veg look rather beautiful dont they? I am pleased with the harvests, hooray! The yellow and pink is possibly a new favourite dahlia of mine and It was one of our garden centre 50p bargains too!

Another nice harvest there. What variety are the outdoor cucumbers? Ive no idea why runner beans are not as popular a French, interesting!
The cucumbers are called marketmore, im not sure if they are specifically for outside but i have grown them outdoors each year and they produce a lot, i hope that helps.

For a first time cauliflower, its very impressive! They can be a little hard to grow i find. Mine didnt do so good this year, with the random weather and temperature changes that we have had.
@@Zinnia82 I was only successful with 1, two other free but I didn’t pick them soon enough and the others didn’t have a cauliflower in! I’m glad that I got one though 😀 & I agree that the inconsistent weather has troubled a lot of growing veg this year
Next year, plant your pumpkins further apart. A lot further apart!

@@Allotment_life The RHS says: Space the individual sowing/planting sites at least 90cm (3ft) apart for bush plants and 1.5m (5ft) for trailing plants.

😂 truly unruly is the pea plant. Mine got up to 7’ tall then took over the yard (alderman I believe lost label though). Leaf mine got my chard but I’ll grow in a vegepod next time. WOW we don’t have a lot of snails this year but some ginormous slugs yes. Such a fab harvest 👍👍, great job. Have a fab week ahead, Ali 🌞32c 🥵🇨🇦

Fab 🌻🐝 shots. My teddy bear are getting buds now. Some of my dahlias were slugs damaged they are magnets it must be the lush thick juicy leaves 🤬🤬. That’s great that you have teddy sunflowers too, they’re so cute 😀🌻. I had quite a lot of slug interest on the dahlias, they really like those leaves! Bentley is my allotment neighbours dog and they live next door to the allotment, I like to call him site security🤣. He is a very good boy and knows to stick to the paths 😊. Have a lovely weekend 💐

😂 my tomatoes are taking o er for a totally different reason, it’s been way too hot to get out and prune them. What are the purple flowers in mom’s flower bed? Some fantastic harvests coming, my corguette plants are waiting for the bees 🐝 which are few and far between. All looking absolutely beautiful and lush, have a super day, Ali 🌞🇨🇦
