  • The second we got a hold of the new NL 10x52 and 14x52, we ran out to the desert to give them a shot and compare them to both the NL 10x42 and the SLC 15x56.
The NL 52 is available at Outdoorsmans, so give them a call at 1-800-291-8065 or visit outdoorsmans.com/collections/...

Entering my first real year of hunting and I've decided I'm going to splurge on one item (go all the way, if you will), and that's going to be my binos. I have an entry level Vortex RF (7x mag) that will suite my needs for ranging and I do not yet have a scope. I'll be hunting deer, antelope, and elk in my home state, Idaho. After my lengthy introduction, my question for you is if you would recommend the NL 10x52's, NL 12x42's, or NL 14x52's? I'd love to go with the 14's as this will be the superior choice on a tripod. However, I will also be using them (solely) for handheld glassing. Do you think a lesser magnification will suite me better because of stability? Or do you think the 14's are stable enough to run on my chest, as well as on the tripod? Thanks in advance! This was a great video!

While the 14s are truly spectacular, we're seeing a lot of interest in the 10x52 for a combo of handheld/tripod use. If I had to go with one for everything, a 10x52 or a 10x42 would be my choice - especially with a mix of open country and canyons.

That’s a great early review, Chris. Will you give us a more detailed review once you have used them operationally? Would love to know how you feel about using these without a tripod for an extended time. Are they manageable carrying around your neck? Thanks again. 👍🏻

Hey! Camera man speaking for Chris here.
We'll definitely put together a follow-up video after we get some more time with the 52s this season. While these 14x52s are a little larger than the 42s, they're pretty comfortable to handhold-a huge improvement over the 15x56 SLC. Some even say better than the 42s because they fit the hand better. After carrying 15x56 and EL 12x50s on my chest, I'd say they're more than manageable in a bino harness or with a strap. Call the guys at Outdoorsmans if you have any more questions!

how about hand held, any shake?

The 10x52 is very good for hand holding, and the 14x52 is shockingly comfortable for 14.7 magnification! Very doable.

Rediculous at this price point the headrest is not included . The the dial on it tirns so easily it never stays in place I’d have expected Ny now they’d have fixed that. Kind of lame

What dial ? Do you mean the focusing wheel ( which is designed by the worlds best optical engineers to turn easily ) or the diopter adjustment mechanism which never moves ? And as for price well like anything else in life you get what you pay for !think Ferrari , Snap on , Rolex 😂

@@jasonhiggins6431the dial on the forehead stabilizer. I don’t find they are worth the $ compared to other binos at a fraction of the price they may be 5% better than others but not at 2x the cost. My fujinon smtx beat them in focus clarity, color fidelity, edge to edge, transmission and chromatic aberration and they only cost $800 😂 all you lose is a bit of fov and slight weight/size penalty and they’re better in low light snd 3D
