- This was my first time fishing Hogtown Bayou, just east of Destin Florida near 30a. I was hoping for some Redfish and Trout, ended up with a surprise catch and a NICE trout. Ended the adventure with a catch and cook with some vegetables from the backyard garden. Enjoy and subscribe!

Nice dude. Subscribed cause I support local fisherman. I'm in Tallahassee and hope to get down that way to catch some snapper. I also watch a lot of Lawless Tide. He's in the area as well.
Thanks for the follow! Yeah Lawless Tide is a great channel, I've learned a lot from him. I am hoping to make it down your way to do some fishing soon as well, I haven't explored that area yet. Best of luck getting on some Snapper!
@@freelineoutdoors Haha stay where your at brother. Better fishing!
I'm moving down to Freeport in October and look forward to kayak fishing in the bay. Awesome Speckled Trout!
You're going to love it, amazing fishing and a beautiful place to be on a kayak.
I'm trying to catch my first fish with artificial lures, but I just keep getting skunked. I caught rays back home in Savannah Georgia where I grew up, and they are good at stealing shrimp. I normally fish around Eglin AFB but I'm curious about other locations on choctawhatchee bay. Great catch on the trout.
Hogtown is a good place to try out. If you want to get a fish on artificials, try a gulp shrimp. Just work it really slow along the bottom. Catfish love them but so do redfish.
Max length on spotted sea trout is 19". Legally it must be between 15" to 19".
Bag limit: 3 per harvester
Zero captain and crew bag limit when on a for-hire trip
Slot limit: Not less than 15" or greater than 19" total length
May possess one over 19 inches per vessel or, if fishing from shore, one over 19 inches per person, included in the bag limit.
Heck of a trout man, congrats. Im hitting the bay in the morning in my kayak. Beaches are messed up so i cant really go offshore to troll for kings.
Thanks a lot man! I've seen some pictures of the beaches all covered in sea weed but haven't tried to go offshore recently. Hopefully it clears up soon and I hope you get on some big kings man! Good luck fishing the bay.
