If you like that dial, check out the video (The Best Dial Ever Made) they did on the Grand Seiko SBGA211. Stunning is an understatement for that one. 💕
@@buickboy92 Yes, the 'snowflake' is a beauty for sure, but it's just been replaced by this one IMO ;)
The trouble is legibility. In real life the domed crystal catches so much light it is actually really hard to pick up the detail without manipulating to just the right angle. This was a watch I was really hoping to love and was amazed to see it at retail just a week ago but this really put me off so I ended up passing.
@@TheDavidBangkok Interesting point, and that's impressive restraint shown on your part. If I went so far as to find one for retal, reckon I'd have overlooked that and bought it anyway.
What is the price for this watch? Looks pretty good.
This watch is certainly not being overlooked. Everyone's literally been beating it to it for weeks ;)
GS are ugly. And we see yet another Rolex hate video from watchfinder.
@@stockholmpublishings2937 Rolex, all Rolex, is BORING. GS is the BOMB. Go to the back of the line now.
@gmshadowtraders Rolex are classics. GS is the bomb? Lol they literally ripped off this design. Nothing new + ugly dial, ugly bezel and ugly bracelet.
@@stockholmpublishings2937 Yeah, classic and BORING. Seiko continuously improves and gives us different technologies, designs... what does Rolex do again? Oh yeah they all look the same. Why are you here mate, go join a 100 year waiting list for your precious POS mass-produced crap.
@gmshadowtraders improving what? Seikos are pure uglyness. "Different technologies" lmfao. It's a watch. It's supposed to look good and tell time, that's it.
Patek and AP have also waiting lists? Does that make them bad brands no.
You are too poor for Rolex. I'm glad ppl w/ ugly personalities wear Seikos and not Rolex. Roles is prestige.
how much ad money did you receive from seiko?
Did Richard Hammond train you how to talk up a product?
You bring the watch alive with your macro shots and details which few other channels can show. Amazing.
The attention to detail is incredible. The dial looks like the wing of a butterfly and the hands look like the finest chef’s knives. Exquisite workmanship.
Interesting video as usually. What can be said about Seiko automatic movements? Are they reliable and worth the cost ? Maybe you have done a video on this topic ? Thanx
Its just a Seiko, and I bloody love it.
Have you guys bought a batch of grand seikos?
You truly love grand Seiko ♥️
I think the sad part of investment watches isn’t the person trying to make a buck, but that people will pay over retail for them.
well, it seems pretty obvious that Rolex isnt paying Watchfinder enough. LMAO.
Late to the party, but at 2:17 I honestly wondered why there where 3 white dots at the bottom of the watch.
Then I realised it's just insanely polished and reflecting that much light. Insane.
Omg the dial looks absolutely gorgeous
Thank You! Well-chosen word and very bold to say it as it is. The question is whether in 10 years we will not look back on 2019 and think "Why were people willing to pay double the price for a Daytona or GMT in steel on the gray market?" It's a bit out of control right now with Rolex.
The limited edition watches of Grand Seiko are going to be something else when looking back in a few decades time... I love it!
I have feeling when GS becomes a mainstream name, its collectibility will be astounding.
Some reknowned collectors have even sold off their rolex/patek collection to collect vintage GS.
Chin Yoon I feel it’s just a matter of time until GS releases their iconic piece that will shift the market. Exciting times.
@@inouk5549 I feel that will be the case as well, its under the radar now,but have a feeling it'll catch fire and even all the naysayers will jump on the GS once they feel the public approves and recognizes the name. Sad but it is what it is.
Accuracy for Gs is a problem except for the spring drive....
Great video! got my first watch in 1966 Every watch in my collection bought with same principles in your video love at first sight and if they hold value then lucky me! most cost more to service than they are worth! Love that Dial!
Such attention to details is not for the Rolex fans.
Why do you have to shit on Rolex here?
I happen to like Rlx and can still appreciate GS
Cost?
True! But the fact that it say Seiko is a deal breaker for most.
Which statistic are you citing from?

On the website it says +10 to -1s per day. Thats soooo inaccurate as a high end watch
This is a masterpiece. My Milgauss looks rubbish next to this.
ok, send me your rubbish by mail! keep watching this very nice video and I'll take care of your Milgauss (by the way, there's a super nice video of the Milgauss in this channel, in case you missed it)
@@conannanoc8768 I spent good money on the Milgauss and got no regrets ,but this is far better. Yes I was extreme buy writing rubbish re my watch, but this GS is by far better. Wish you a great year.
@@marioaquilina248 I knew it! My point is, ok, probably with seiko you get more watch, but the rolex ain't that bad either!!
@@conannanoc8768 I own a Rolex and got 9 Seiko watches. The Rolex is fantastic and Seiko are great. My favourite watch remains my Seiko SKX007J. Don't ask me why, we bonded from the moment I took it out of the box.
@@marioaquilina248 Did the same when I got my SKX013. I haven't worn my other watches in almost 2 years because of it.
As supported by data, how have comparable (and contemporary) GS & Rolex models retained their value over a set of sales examples in the second-hand market?
What a beautiful watch I just have my jaw dropped omg... this is amazing what a dail....
Truly exceptional!!
I flip watches I can make money on so I can afford a watch I want for myself every now and then, so I will buy a Rolex explorer to earn money on it only to end up buying something like the JLC Reverso as a permanent addition to my collection
As long as people are willing to pay a premium for "hyped" brands, I am happy as it means I can earn money and buy MY grails at a great value 😉
Never agreed with the title of this video so much.....cue the rolex fan boys
Watchfinder, your videos are immensely impressive. Although, is there any chance that you might start uploading 4K videos in the future, so that I can enjoy them on my 4K TV?
With an aching heart and trembling knees is how I watch this video.
Anyway, for anyone who want GS but can't afford it right now. You can opt for Astron, the markers, hands and case polishing really close to a GS since they're being produced in the same factory. Except for the inside of lug area, which is understandable and passable.
2020 resolution: do what makes you happy.

This is what I truly called fine watch made by artisans and watchmakers and not designed by a photographer pretending to be a real deal.
The SBGK005 cost $7,400, a beautiful watch indeed but it will cost me as much as a Rolex, I can buy a datejust 36 for less or 41 for a $500 more.
No date sub for $7,900. I think this is the kind of watch that you buy once you achieved all your watch goals.. like ahh let me spend some money in something different, get a GS because it’s different.
Don’t like the way the paint sits on the dial, doesn’t seem right close up...
