John Mayer totally needs to release an album of all these songs that just never quite made it on to any of his other albums. Even if they are just live versions it would be totally awesome.
I Re fuse I think a lot of them are genuinely good songs, though from a point of view of an artist like him - one who has undergone so much of an evolution as a musician over the years - i suspect he wouldn't be comfortable doing so. A lot of these are very "boring" songs in the sense that they follow a straight up pop formular with rather safe chordprogressions that make for a good melody, but they aren't really all that exciting. All of that is just an opinion of course, but i imagine that's the reason they were cut from the albums in the first place. Though i must say, if he was ever to express any interest in releasing these songs in some form, then i would totally be the first in line. Been listening to this guy for more than 10 years....
Oliver Munck I'll add the main reason I think he won't: His vision on life has changed over the past years A LOT. Like all of us he changes as a human, and when he wrote this song, he felt different than he feels now. That will be the main 'problem' I think :) But I kinda like it. I have lots of memories from all those unknown Mayer songs. Put like a full year of emotions in them because I was obsessed by them for a year. So everytime I listen to them, I feel like I go 2 years back in time, which is kinda magic :)
Then he says he may release a CD called 'Zero' for all of his unreleased masterpieces :) What I've said is just through rumors so do not take it as completely true.. but there is a higher chance then none.

I used to have a mix cd with about 20 bootleg live JM songs - this was one of them. But there's a song I'm trying to remember. Something about sleeping on the couch and I think John mentions his brother in the song. Any ideas? Time and UV rays don't treat old mix cd's well. Thanks!

Possibly JM's next abum release supposed to be titled "Zero" consisting of around 6 to 8 unreleased songs. These are rumors, but awesome to think about!

Songwrites have like 30 songs before they choose the ones for their albums, it's pretty obvious why something like this didn't make Room For Squares... i think it's great don't get me wrong, but some of the stuff is kinda cheesy.. "can i have my cake, can i have you too?" that's just so corny and poppy :P
