Scovillain with froslass could be an insane deck. Especially if you TM evo in the first turn. Also azelf is damage counter on ALL of your opponents pokemon, so works super well in spread decks. Maybe even with dusknoir too
I could see Froslass being a partner with Scovillain since it wants to be hurt. Scovillain is probably the only pokemon with an ability that benefits from froslass. However, the downside with froslass is that you get put into range of Charizard and Dragapult pretty quickly, and you kinda help them fix the math when they are piecing ko's on you. So it's hard to say how good this duo will be. It feels like a double edged sword
I been using scovil ex for so long on live it almost got me arceus. Use gardenia vigor, teal mask ogre x2, use nest balls and ultras, run 4 energy switches, 16 minimum grass energy, i don't use boss or switch, i use arven and vigors...

My first thought with Scramble Switch was to try it with Ho-oh V and one of the Basic Stellar Tera's we'll be getting to switch off the energy from Ho-oh to a benched Tera Pokémon, but it may not be consistent enough to make work, and Ho-oh's ability has the downside of ending your turn, and you'd need to get it into the active on your next turn. Maybe if you're going first it could be interesting?

It'll be a solid rogue strategy since it has a solid MUs into many basic decks and Zard but it'll still get swamped by Dragapult and will likely be a little less consistent than most meta decks.
the new Scovillain EX is bad if it didnt have that ability. It being both grass and fire is really good, granted fire doesn't really hit anything at the top of the deck tier list, but grass does and the numbers are really solid (x70)
It seems to me at least like the tcg has reduced a good amount of "search for anything" cards without some solid investment. Like pidgeot ex does it, but you aren't going to play it in a big basics deck. The boom boom groove thwackey is limited to an archetype. I think, at least in principle, it slows the game down. It's like replacing battle vip with poffin, same effect but for weaker cards and less big boom on the first turn. Computer search is splashable in any deck and helps first turn just as much or more as any other turn. Just my theory.
@@rainbowunicode8352 makes sense I played during its era but I didn't play competitively until about a few months ago prior to that I played expanded because I always liked non rotating formats but a buddy of mine got me back into the standard format and I haven't turned back just because it may sound silly considering that I'm decently early on my goal but my goal is to try to make worlds so I'm on the grind bus right now
I' m worried about the gusting for the 2026 format when boss rotates, i am not playing 2 2 meowstic and 4 of that item card in a deck just for gusting, that is too much deck space that could go to other stuff! guess we will see when we get to that point if more gust cards are printed by then. The Scovillian ex honestly it's just one of those attackers like arcanine ex and stuff where they do damage based on amount of damage on them.
Honestly, I don’t think I’ll miss boss that much if it goes. I think guaranteed gust options should come with a stipulation attached like having more prize cards with counter catcher or being attached to an ability like meowstic. Boss is too free tbh.
