  • Fly Fishing Rocky Mountain National Park || Cutthroat and Brookies
Welcome back! As you can tell from the video I've officially moved to Colorado! My dad helped me move in so I decided to take him on a couple adventures while he was here. This trip consists of catching cutthroat and brook trout in high alpine lakes inside Rocky Mountain National Park. We used both traditional fly fishing and tenkara to catch the fish. The most successful fly was the ishigaki kebari tenkara fly that was fished on a dead sink or slight twitching action. The fly is shown at the end of this video.
If you have any questions regarding these lakes or the gear used please ask me in the comments and I will answer them.

Did you have to get a timed entry pass for the park?

I always enter the park extremely early before the gates are in use so I haven't ever gotten one.

You can fish all over the place in the park. Pretty much any body of water I've seen has had fish in it.
