China is not at all what we imagined! Today marks our first day in Shanghai, kicking off our month-long journey across the country. Our plan is to not only visit the vibrant and modern cities but also uncover the serene countryside and wander through ancient towns. It’s our first time really exploring China and we're excited to immerse ourselves in its people, cuisine, and culture. Our Shanghai adventure begins with a stroll along the chic Yuyuan Road, a pitstop at an underground food haven suggested by a friendly local, and a visit to the renowned Bund for that classic Shanghai skyline view.

I literally just left Shanghai after a 12 days China tour. China is so clean, so big! And the people are so polite and friendly. The Bund, you see it on UA-cam, on pictures, but nothing like seeing with your own eyes. It is like....staring into the future.

Born and raised in the midwest USA, never in a million years would I believe that this is china until I visited the plant in China. I remember how anxious I was before traveling only to find out that all I knew from the media/everyone (even the church goers) was a big lie. I know the media lies especially in politics but this is a league of it's own.
Chinese here from NYC, took my bf (from US) to Shanghai last year, after a week he said the exact same thing" I could live here" lol before visiting China, he was all suspicious and scared thanks to all the lies on the mainstream media
My son is there for a gap year studying Mandarin, now he told us to get out of the U.S. and move there. 😂

I went to Shanghai in November 2023. I love it so much. It is a clean, big, modern, nice, and SAFE city...I am sure I will go back again! love it!

It is very quiet, you actually have to be careful and look over your shoulder because you can barwly hear the cars near you.
China is amazing.
It's not only Shanghai that is clean. Even those 5th tier Chinese cities are cleaner than most US and India big cities.
Why is everyone who visits Shanghai mentioning Shanghai is QUIET? I grew up there and don't remember the city being anything NEAR quiet😂

Just got back from an amazing trip through China and the Philippines, with my final stop in Shanghai. I absolutely loved Shanghai! The city's vibrant culture, incredible skyline, and the bustling streets are just unforgettable. The mix of modern and traditional elements is something you have to see to believe

@@richardgadoury8452 if you dont buy an apartment only rent，it would be super comfortable life here，you can find both cheap and expensive lifestyle here depends on how you want to live.public transportation is way cheaper than any countries in Europe and north America.and in Shanghai most wage range from 6k to 20k RMB（1k-3k USD） depends on your skills and work experience，if you can find a job around 12k that would be a nice life here
@@richardgadoury8452 The cost of long-term residence and short-term travel cannot be compared. In fact, there are many people in Shanghai with low income who can still live a stable life in Shanghai.
I am so glad you are traveling China! My family and I were there in 2019. There are over 2800 pairs of bullet trains to get you all over the country quickly (217 mph). Very clean. In the 4-hour ride from Bejing (Great Wall and Forbidden city) to Xian (Terra cotta soldiers) attendants swept 5 times and mopped 4 in our section alone. The nature, culture, temples and carved statues are going to blow your socks off!

He laments that US cities are full of homeless people, drug addicts and gun shooters, dirty streets and violence infested cities that the American people are afraid to walk in the streets at night., Compared to Chinese cities where people dance and stroll at night in the park is a contrast to behold. But he is too busy making wars around the world whereas Dictator Xi makes Chinese people happy and peaceful. .

In the 13 years I lived in Shanghai before 2012, I never saw a single homeless person and saw no more than five beggars.
Of course it's China.not the US,the UK,or Canada,French,or some country like that

Excellent video, I first went to Shanghai 25 years ago, a lot has changed.
Time for a revisit! We don’t know what it used to be like but right now it’s one of our fav Asian cities to explore. Biking down the Suzhou Creek towards the Bund was a highlight for us.
In China time, that's like a 1,000 years !
That was right before Chinese economy started to take off.
In 25 years, Shanghai may have been updated twice~

We loved Yuyuan Road- so trendy, so chic, yet has a old charm to it. What a cool little neighbourhood. There are many more walking areas we have yet to explore in Shanghai.

I was there in 2008 after the earthquake in Chengdu (?). Due to a period of mourning all the lights were out at night and entertainment venues closed. We were so saddened but understood. Really hope I can visit again and see this incredible city. 😊

Love Shanghai, I just came back from that city 1 month ago. It was amazing and so was Disneyland.
The other side of the river is PuDong. Comparing to the Bund, it’s like the new China looking at the old China where the historical buildings were built during colonial times. China has come a long way

I had to laugh out loud when Note said it’s so cold and laughed again when Flora said she had 5 layers on because I just checked the weather for today, shows 60 degrees and sunny. That is definitely T-shirt and shorts for me. That street looks amazing and park too. I am so happy that you both joined in and went dancing in the park. Scallion pancake looks yummy. I could tell that Note really enjoyed the thin pork chop after taking his 1ST bite from his reaction. I laughed with Flora when she dropped the bun. Pork yum, crab must be delicious.
