Legnani copositions are in a class by themselves Whittingham's rendition is superb ; each note is played with perseverence and clarity to enhance tonal excellence.
Thanks Siccas. Once again you've broadened my musical knowledge. Must have been a golden era for music when mr Legniani was around. Not sure if i'm 100% correct, but i believe Mauro Guiliani and Fernando Sor were composing and playing at roughly the same time.
Actually this was the second golden age. The first golden age was in the 1600’s with the baroque guitar with composer’s like Sanz, Corbetta, deVisee, etc. Like if the golden age of SNL was in the Belushi/Ackroyd years, the second golden age was the years with Carvey/Farley.
The image in the thumbnail is actually of D. Aguado playing his guitar with his invention - the tripodium. There is no known paintings, lithographs, or photos of Legnani known to exist.
Saludos
Nice performances but... Really not my favourite composer so crass sounding, 'look at me' only nowhere as good as Sor and Guilliani on compositional thematic development and structure.
Brava! Legnani intimidates, challenges. You faced and conqeured. Thank you!
Legnani gives me nightmares
@@Sketch_Sesh Hahahaha . . . I hear you! Genius playing does that; composition for genius performance guarantees it!
Really fresh, rhythmically precise reading of the op.19 solo

Outstanding ! Very very nice. Thank you for the post
Simples e Bonito 😌
Bravo 😍
Adorably.
Now there's Legnani!

Yes, you are right. I was a golden age of the guitar.

@@edzmuda6870..... thank you for the information, some more interesting history for me to learn.
Peter plays Legnani as if he was his best friend. His playing makes me respect the quality his compositions as much as Paganini's
Why is there Mauro Giuliani in the thumbnail when this video is about legnani?
Was gonna say it
Yep, that's Guiliani.
Exactly!
Yes me too
Maybe no extant pix of Legnani, so any Italian plucker will do?
Atrapante interpretación
At 10:30 is op. 20 n. 7 in a major, not the n. 2 in e minor.

Formidável 👏👏👏
👏👏👏👏👍🇬🇧🌹
What's with the thumbnail being Guiliani?
Alexandra Whittingham... virtuoso !
Seems like many of the early guitar masters were Italian .
Saludos

Interrupt the sound in as she did is not musical.
