I think it’d be better to say that it’s weird how they want you to feel bad about killing certain characters when you have no agency in it. Examples being Ellie killing Mel and Owen in self defense, or stabbing guy to save Dina. Whereas a game like Prey 2017 allows you to save or kill characters as you please and then be judged for it. Spec Ops the line had some interesting gameplay choices like that, even TLOU had it to a certain extent. Most games do use cutscene deaths though, and if it’s a boss their is a cutscene either preceding it or following it or both. It’s frustrating in TLOU2 though because it feels like your agency and Ellie’s is stripped away and outside of Nora you don’t feel like you are TAKING revenge.

Not only that but if we're trying to use they're own pc logic against them, Manny was an offensive stereotype that only characteristics consisted of yelling spanish obscenities and getting shit faced.
