There is now a hack for the solo knit band. You buy another small size one from apple and zip tie it so it goes over the top of the head. I saw it on reddits Vision Pro forum.
I do this - sooooo much more comfortable. I use the same size band as the horizontal one (so, for me, both L). I also ordered a small 1/2 LB steel plate to attach to the back, as it will counterbalance the front. Of course, 3rd parties will likely make such things, but in the meantime, I’m much more comfortable.
Yosemite has an echo, too. In the Mount Hood environment, if you start content in the Apple TV app and go full immersive using the icon in the upper left hand corner of the video, the content you're watching will also be reflected in the water like Apple's promotional footage. Apple TV is the only app that does this in immersive mode, but it's still super cool and just another nice touch that Apple added to the OS.
Oh, that's a good one for sure about the video reflecting in the water! I dunno why I didn't notice an echo in Mount Hood - gonna go try it right now 😅

One more fun tip. This one is more DIY but if you take the whole magnetic frame off and put a small strip of tape foam on the nose bridge you can comfortably have 2/3 of the weight on the back of your head with the dual loop band and the other 1/3 the weight on your nose bridge. This modification gives you your full FOV (field of vision) back making mixed reality look way more immersive. Plus working on a laptop you can see your keys more easily at a glance. The weight is also much better distributed on your head partly because the magnetic frame being taken off gets rid of 100 grams of weight and partly because you have no pressure on your forehead or cheeks. Your nose is far more comfortable.
If you buy a second solo knit band and then use a 3D printed part you can connect them together and have the second solo knit band on the top of your head and you can also

I bought a 3rd part strap which attaches to the VP. It’s called the Annapro. You use it with the solo band and it’s amazing. When you go without the light seal, the band makes it so the VP is essentially floating just above your nose. No pain whatsoever. I used the VP for 10hrs on my first day. The most comfortable VR/AR headset I’ve ever used
Solo knit band is also way more comfortable for me as well. The dual band actually puts more pressure on my face no matter how I adjust it. I thought I was crazy, glad I’m not the only one!
Adding another comment for future versions... I cannot wait until facetime to be improved and invite family over to your house and interact with your room. DOPE!!!
@@AndruI think they meant tv shows but not sure. But this is a great point as Avatar was a movie that tons of people didn’t want to leave the world after the credits rolled. But it had negative trade offs where some people didn’t like 3d glasses, got sick, or they just didn’t like the film in general. But now if Apple found a way to do it in perhaps an even better way and people don’t get sick or have negative trade offs- then maybe it’s the tech that was needed for James Cameron to be right.

@@Andru Np…not yet, but I know that I should. I might not be able to wait years for a version 2 with all the hype around this product. I might also wait to see what people think in 2-3 months as we all know VR has a tendency to be super exciting at first and die out. Not sure if that will happen this time. This feels like an important moment. But yea the demo try is probably just a smart thing to do.
I agree with your take on the solo band. I find it more comfortable as well. Something that works for me is I first press the frame against my face until i feel even pressure all the way around. Once I have it, I tighten the band by turning the side dial. This usually stops me from constantly adjusting.
This is the most useful video by miles for a Vision Pro user. Thank you for the great content and I’m subscribing and hoping more to share is with in the future!
Others have also mentioned leaving app screens in various rooms, etc., and then returning to them later to find the app windows where they left them. What no one (that I've seen) has mentioned is whether or not they returned to those rooms after the AVP was powered down and restarted later. Do the app screen locations survive across sessions when the AVP has been powered off?
It doesn’t seem survive a full power down but I’ve only done that when the software update was pushed this week. Mostly you take them off and put them on like you do with an iPad and it’s cover.
Great video, thank you. Same experience as you, had demo on Saturday and the dual loop hurt. Luckily we had time to switch at the end and much much better with the fabric one.
I’m in the same camp with solo knit band…. The dual one just feels uncomfortable no matter how I adjust. Also for anyone complaining about the weight of the Vision Pro highly highly recommend just going to the store and switching out the light seals because you more than likely have the wrong one…
I like the band you liked too, it is easy to adjust the pressure between below the eyes and above the eyes (forehead) by adjusting the band position. Also it is so effortless to adjust the tightness by just turning the knob.
For some reason my persona never finishes . It goes to the spinning sun after the progress bar and just keeps spinning for a long time and never changes . I may have to exchange it for a different one
You can also move the control center dot to have it less likely to be accidentally triggered. Go to settings, control center and then you can raise or lower how high you have to look up to get the dot to appear. By raising it, I found it's far less likely to have it show up and get accidentally triggered every time you look up slightly.
Great review. Learned a few things. Regarding Guest Mode, they really need to add multi-user support. Not being able to be used (guest mode exclusive) by more than one person in your household makes the ridiculously high cost, obscene.
Great video! I love mine more each day as I incorporate it into my lifestyle. I prefer the dual loop (solo made me almost return it). Cool tip: tell Siri to make it night or day in an environment to see it happen live in front of you. Very cool.
I love telling Siri to do that! Way easier than manual! I just dropped my full Vision Pro review if you wanna check it out! ua-cam.com/video/aUbxnufkkg4/v-deo.html
I also had the same experience with the straps. I instantly switched to the daul loop band after using the original one for 1 minute because every said it was better, used it for 2 days. Felt very uncomfortable. Swapped to single band, it was much better. You just have to find the balance between where it rests on your brow vs cheeks, and adjust the back accordingly. Plus, it's much more simple to throw over your head
I'm with you on that! I don't get why the dual loop is way less comfortable for me. It seems like it SHOULD be the more comfortable strap with more even distribution!
I think the problem is the dual loop top part is still far back on the head. It should rest closer the the front of your head (where the weight is). I think that would distribute the weight better. Just look at the BoboVR aftermarket band for quest 2. There’s a part on the back of the head and a spot right past where the headset ends. That and the single loop band might even have more area than the entire dual loop! Dual loop should at least have still used the single loop part for the back strap.
Did you find all the Easter eggs? Any chance we can't a just AVP easter eggs video with the holiday approaching? That would be cool and I can't remember all of them so would like a go to video. :-)

I could lower it by reducing the white point from the accessibility settings. Today, I'll try different light seals at the Apple store to see if a different seal can lower the issue by changing the eye-to-lens location. I've been using the Solo loop band, and have not noticed any issues, maybe I just have a big head and my neck is just used to the weight, cause the Vision Pro isn't even noticeable to me. And as you said, the one time I used the dual loop band, it was the only time the vision pro felt uncomfortable.
I also got a vision pro and it does make my head and face hurt very fast. Hearing that it doesn't make you uncomfortable at all, I feel I haven't been so jealous of someone's head shape for... well for the first time. But I am sincerely jealous of your head shape!
Something that was not mentioned. If you don't use magnetic lens inserts and want as large of a FOV as possible, get a light seal with a 1 in the second position of the number. So a 11,21, or 31. The first part of number is basically narrow, medium, and wide for your face. The 2nd number is depth with 1 putting your eyes closest to the lenses and 9 being the farthest away (most binocular effect). The last part is bridge, which is W or N for wide or narrow where your nose goes.
I have a question. I tried the Vision Pro while laying in my bed to watch a movie before going to sleep. I have the lights off and I kept getting the low light error hand tracking error pop up. is this a limitation of Vision Pro or am I using it wrong?
You wanna make sure your hands are in a place where the Vision Pro sensors can see them...kind of annoying but i think will be address soon in software. It can see your hands in the dark, but it's using the flood illuminator (Face ID) to see them. I rest my hands on my chest when laying down in the dark and it seems to not cause that error (vs putting my arms at my sides!)
I started out with the solo knit as the default for me, which seemed comfortable, but I didn’t get as fine tuned alignment with the optics as I did with the dual loop, just because the solo had a greater chance of slipping up and down. Otherwise, solo loop is almost luxurious in how it cradles the back of the head
Great video. Very interesting tips. I hope they keep “eyesight”. The one feature that allows others to feel connected and engaged to the person wearing the headset should stay. Make it better don’t take it away. Especially if you are someone crying about our lonely, dystopian future. Did you see the creator who wore the Ironman helmet when scanning and the persona wore it too? You can wear costumes! It looked fantastic. Can you open more than one app on the Mac screen? So far creators complaining about only one monitor also show only one app open on the Mac, is that true?
@@Andru I don’t think your filters will let me post the information. It removed the comment. I didn’t post a link, just the channel name and the timestamp.
A great Easter egg in the environments is that you can actually walk around them! I kid you not, make sure you are in an open space and you have total freedom of motion. Only about 4 feet in all directions but you can actually move in them. Blows my mind!
How is the movie watching experience on the headset? That is what I'm most interested in. I still want to know if I'll be able to use my Air Pods Max headphones with this device. I'm either going to get an Apple Vision Pro headset, or a really expensive short throw projector. Great content, my friend!
@@Andru also when you play a Apple TV+ movie in the mount hood you can select the environment icon on the movie to have it cast over the water from the big screen.
Has anyone found a way to plug in USB accessories to the VP? Asking because for music production you need this for sure. Too much latency if there’s no wired connection.
I tried the solo band but it made the goggles very heavy on my eyebrows. I switched to the dual band, and that took most of the weight off of my eyes. I shortened the head strap to relieve some of the weight of the goggles. Great video!
FYI: Vision Pro mirroring does not remotely show content being watched in the headset to the remote device. Likely a licensing thing but unsure. I also found that you need ample exterior lighting a render better personas.
Thank you! Your explanation of why you wear the Solo-knit band vs. the Dual-loop band is spot on! I’m in the same position, where I have yet to try on the Dual-loop band. Mine is still in the box because I found the Solo-knit band incredibly comfortable after swapping out my Light Seal and 10 minutes of proper positioning on Day One. Keep up the great work! 🤙🏼
I am so glad you made mention about how uncomfortable the dual strap band is, and as a fellow bald headed bearded man I found the solo knit band to be the most comfortable band of the two and nothing is going to make me switch.
I guess it just differs... I have a full head of hair... Yet, I haven't even tried to use the dual loop band. Cause I have no discomfort with the solo. However, I do have a huge block shaped head. 🤦🏾♂️

Try a 3d movie make the screen large then walk a little left and right. When I’m static 3d is worse and i have to realign my eyes separating the displays just a bit
WOW! That's awesome right out of the gate. Any on your list that you were surprised to see in there? For me, I have the vast majority of my movies in iTunes from Movies Anywhere, and I am seeing lots in my library that SHOULD have been turned into 3D, but weren't. Hopefully it's just a temporary glitch!
@@Andru yeah most of my movies are from movies anywhere. And looks like a lot got converted. I wonder why yours didn’t. I was confused how Alita battle Angel wasn’t 3D. That movie was a James Cameron produced movie that came out in imax 3D and was like a big deal when it came out. Curious
Ok - I feel like this is a problem because, if you want the 3D version and it was from MoviesAnywhere, there is no way to buy it. Apple just gives you the option to play the 2D movie, but no option to either upgrade to 3D or just buy the 3D version outright.

I rest my hands on my chest when laying down in the dark and it seems to not cause that error (vs putting my arms at my sides!)
Thank you so much for replying. I will give that a shot@@Andru
Awesome video favorite so far
I see that background. Somebody is cultured.🎉
Oh wow! I didn’t see that! Is that here on UA-cam?
@@Andru I don’t think your filters will let me post the information. It removed the comment. I didn’t post a link, just the channel name and the timestamp.
Oh weird - try it again and let's see if it goes through!
@@Andru ok, the channel is Uncle Jessy and it’s around the three, fifty-eight mark. No numbers or quotation marks used.
Thanks bro.... so helpful. Love my Vision Pro!
Fantastic video! Thanks so much for sharing all these cool tips!
Gotta see how Blackbox sounds in Yosemite
Would love to feature it - hit me up!
@@Andru also when you play a Apple TV+ movie in the mount hood you can select the environment icon on the movie to have it cast over the water from the big screen.
@@Andru Sent one on X yesterday! Will email you the same
Has anyone found a way to plug in USB accessories to the VP?
If you wait long enough in Yosemite you can hear a rockslide happening. I looked around but didn’t see any visuals to go with the sound.
I will wait for the 6th Gen Apple Vision, with 8 hours of Battery Life 🔋
Too bad because I heard the seventh generation will be contact lens size.
Great information
This was really good. Straight and to the point. I love it. Thank you
So cool
I am so glad you made mention about how uncomfortable the dual strap band is, and as a fellow bald headed bearded man I found the solo knit band to be the most comfortable band of the two and nothing is going to make me switch.
I guess it just differs... I have a full head of hair... Yet, I haven't even tried to use the dual loop band. Cause I have no discomfort with the solo. However, I do have a huge block shaped head. 🤦🏾♂️
Forgot to mention that this was a great vid and definitely helped me find more great things to do with my VP. Between you and Marques, that's pretty much all I needed. Keep it up! Subscribed, thumbs up, pat on the back, buy you a beer.
Great video buddy.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice review! How would the experience be of putting a screen on your lap and using it like a very big iPad? Thanks much.
Haleakala crater is 2.5 miles wide at the narrowest point. I’ve been there. No echo.
there was rain in one of the environments
Try a 3d movie make the screen large then walk a little left and right. When I’m static 3d is worse and i have to realign my eyes separating the displays just a bit
Yeah I got 35 movies I owed that had free 3D upgrade
Curious
Oh interesting - so you know for sure that some of your MoviesAnywhere titles received the 3D upgrade??
@@Andru I think it’s the only the ones that link to you to purchase through the iTunes Store
Ok - I feel like this is a problem because, if you want the 3D version and it was from MoviesAnywhere, there is no way to buy it. Apple just gives you the option to play the 2D movie, but no option to either upgrade to 3D or just buy the 3D version outright.
The president windows all around the house is definitely cool.
