Always on time and first to do it 👍
PBKreviews is the art of tech desasembly 👍
The phone looks really well made with all the metal brackets. Charging port within the motherboard is not good from repairability perspective.
👍
@@PBKreviews ma la porta usb è solo appoggiata e tenuta dalle due viti, oppure è saldata? perchè vorrei capire se è riparabile
Thank you very much for doing the disassembly. ❤️
you're welcome
@@PBKreviews You are doing Gods work!
really fast uploading it!! 😁
😀👍
Can we replace the battery for the google pixel 7, if it gets damaged or losing it's charge?
You are doing great job
Thanks! 😀
Thanks for the video, Sir
You're welcome!
I didn't quite understand what is the little hole next to the flash in the back camera. Is it a proximity sensor or a microphone?
I bought a protective glass for the back and I need to know please to see if it covers an actual microphone.
Yes it's the mic mate
This teardown was incredible!
Thanks :)
ありがとうございます!
Thank you! and you're welcome!
Does the the 7's speaker have those white foam balls like the pro to help with sound?
No not from what I saw.
Do the pixel 7 and 7 pro have same vibration motor?
Good job👍
thanks! 👍
Cool video, do you think that the mid plate on this vs the pro would help with resistance to bending?
Thanks. I think they should fairly be similar since the mid plate might be larger on the pro but the phone is larger as well. So the bend resistance would be somewhat the same as the regular version since its smaller and that in itself helps bend wise.
@@PBKreviews what I've noticed is that the mid plate stops just below the camera bump, in line with the antenna on the pro. Your tear down of the smaller 7 shows the mid plate go across the camera bar and up, with the plate in line with the antenna. Very strange to have 2 different designs, but I am assuming the pro telephoto lens was the reason?!
I love your work 🥰🥰
Thanks! glad you enjoy it 😀
Nice work, I want to place a metal plate in my case for my magnetic car mount without disrupting wireless charging. Would you say the far bottom of the phone is the ideal location ?
Thanks. Yeah probably mid to bottom portion.
مفيد جدا شكرًا 🙏
You're welcome
Would you say they provided more thermal pads and heat shields over the pixel 6?
nothing extreme but yeah
good video brother 💯👍🏻 your channel is always active 💡👍🏻 Google pixel 7 is super wow 👑🔥
Thanks!
@@PBKreviews considering the price gap between 7 and 7 pro which is more sensible option to buy
Probably the 7. For the difference in price, I don't think you're getting that much more for the 7 pro. The 7 itself is pretty much the same aside from one less telephoto camera, slightly smaller battery, and a slightly smaller screen. You get less RAM also but the processor is the same which is the important thing.
@@PBKreviews All I care about is the 120hz screen vs 90hz.
@@PBKreviews that is the reality, that is the important thing the processor that handles everything💡💯👍🏻
What is your opinion on the water and dust seal? Does the seal completely rely on the frame and glass seal or do they have additional seal inside the phone? I have seen some reports of small gaps (1 mm) between the screen and the bottom frame and was wondering whether it will affect the IP rating of these phones... BTW, Thank you for the great teardown video 😇
Yes its usually based on the outer seal for the most part. The small gap should be fine in most cases since the adhesive is somewhat flexible but overtime it can degrade however there are plastic clips aside from the adhesive which are holding the screen assembly down in place so I wouldn't be too worried. But I wouldn't take any ip rated phone regularly in the water with me since they are water resistant and not water proof. They are only water resistance as a safety measure and not intended to be intentionally dunked in water all the time because that too would over time deteriorate.
How would you replace the rear camera glass? I managed to break that small oval-shaped glass piece in less than a week somehow. Really frustrated by sometimes accidents happen
You can heat the glass portion itself and pry it off. If there are replacements for it already, you would be able to buy one online and re apply the replacement (it should come with an adhesive strip).
Vtf, Samsung ram on 7 and micron on 7 pro, when micron overhead Samsung in ram and ufs manufacturing?
Taking the crown from ifixit! ;)
👍 :)
I am repairing a pixel 7 power flex, the flex i took out of the phone has 4 brass pads, but the only flex i can find to replace it have 5 brass pads. Any ideas why?
Yeah, that's weird not sure why. Maybe they originally made the prototypes with 5 contacts then later changed it after a round of the parts had been made or later releases of the phone they added the 5th contact, no clue. But yeah seems to be hard to find the replacement with 4.
Hello. When I shake my there is something that is loose inside. Should I open it up or should I leave it as it is. Also, If I open it up, can I put all together again with the same parts?
It's normal, its just the camera assembly.
Good job
Thanks
Hey guys I need some help, I got my pixel 7 falled to the ground and even thought everything's working properly and the exterior is brand new (I had a case) the upside part of the phone has started to have a loose (and I think big) part and it sounds when I shake it and I'm afraid something is going on there, should I open it?
The camera assembly is suppose to rattle, it's normal.
Does pixel 7 have better cooling than pixel 6 based on the construction?
Yes seems to have better cooling.
are the dimensions of the pixel 7 battery the same as having a pixel 7 pro?
the battery is a bit smaller then the 7 pro
I watch your videos upside down because of in that way it looks correct.
lol, I do it in landscape so its close up and in more detail. In portrait or vertical, you don't get as close up of a view.
Next time you teardown a pixel 7 please measure the distance from top of phone to top and bottom of charging coil in mm to establish the coil center location and diameter.
Cool thumbnail 👌
Thanks! 😀👍
Stupidly I swam with Pixel 7 in a pocket. Havent been able to switch it on in a week. Thinking of opening it up. Is it worth the effort? What do you think?
If its been sitting for that long with water inside, It might be too late to repair it. Since the corrosion and water inside would short and damage the parts, especially if you attempt to use it or power it on without drying out the water internally and cleaning out the corrosion around the chips/connectors.
Proficient as ussualy. I am an owner of pixel 3a xl, old but perfect phone for me. Long battery life, still beautiful camera, good gps, and above all, very good reception. I test various phones in my basement...what is your opinion about anntena system on pixel 7?
I'm not too familiar with that to give an opinion about it since I haven't really tested these devices much.
"To start off, the SIM tray needs to be removed."
*Ding* +1
Just kidding, just kidding 🤣
Appreciate your video as always. 😉
👍 :)
Nice
👍
UR good 💯
Thanks!
What should I do when having water damage?
You would need to take apart the phone, disconnect the battery, dry out any liquid inside, use a small brush like a tooth brush to brush off any corrosion around chips or connectors, and then re assemble the phone to see if it works. If not, you would need to check one by one to see what part has gone bad between the battery, charger port and screen. If neither of those are the problem, then your main board might be damaged beyond repair.

👍
What is the liquid you use to remove the battery?
Isopropyl alcohol aka rubbing alcohol, its a disinfectant for wounds often found at pharmacies and gas stations.

Nice teardown. Any chance for a teardown of Xperia 10 IV?
ill see if I can find one for a good price and ill consider doing it, but got handful of videos to do before that
Hello.
How about new Tecno Pova Neo 2?
Thanks.
Hi, for now, Tecno phones are not something I am going to concentrate on. Not enough interest from viewers to justify spending the money on the phones.
Wow
Wonder what happens to the IP68 after such a teardown..
You lose the IP68 unless you apply the original pre cut adhesive made for the phone.
Thanks! Glad I do not need a new phone.
👍 you're welcome
As others have mentioned, I was looking for precise location and measurements of charging coil
You can see it @4:08 in the video. It's at the center back of the phone (pretty much the square section that you see with graphite film is the coil size/location). I don't have it on hand anymore to take actual measurements but you can base it off what you see in the video I guess.
The Google pixel is easy to desasembly as easy to repair, he has a simple main board not like sandwich main board of Iphones and Samsung s series
So nice video bro please next video teardown iphone 14 plus
Will have it done soon, maybe tomorrow.
@@PBKreviews thanks 😁👍
What about memory
Wheres the back telephoto camera? It sits between the two big cameras.
This is the Pixel 7, the one you're referring to is the Pixel 7 Pro, and the telephoto lens is not between the two other camera, but furthest right one.
@@PBKreviews you're right. Dev check must be wrong. It's a light sensor.
why is the video upside down :(
you mean why it's landscape? to give a better overall view and closer view of the phone and parts. With portrait or vertical point of view, it's not as close up.
I like how the soc n battery put in the middle u hope xaiomi copy this style
👍
Не дает интернет моему старому Xiaomi, у которого нет сим-карты с картой, которую я не пробовал, так как она находится в новом телефоне, но грустно, что тензор 2 pixel7 подводит меня.
4:28 Really Google not make to repair Divice easy-
Where the heck is the G2 chip
Its seated underneath the RAM chip @4:04 in the video.
✌️🇧🇷
👍
so, there's no 5g antenna. Just some metal piece.
there is 5g, just no mmWave 5g for this specific model pixel 7. Some versions will have the mmWave antenna as well.
no mmwave doesn't mean you don't have 5G. you still have sub-six. don't worry!
không có pin Xiaomi nhỉ
what do you mean?
These boards are getting smaller and smaller
yup
Good job
👍
