Area rugs and runners to protect the floor from stratches, don't drag anything across the floor (boxes and furniture) the littlest pebble will scratch. Rugs also cut down on the echo that hard floors and walls create.
Steve, the room with no light issue. it's actually up to the homeowner and she probably just finished the remodel and didn't get to that because she had to start renting. pretty much in the center ceiling you will see a white circular cover with 2 Phillips head screws. Once removed there will be the wires ready to install and light or chandelier that you choose if she says it's up to you. There should be 3 wires white, black and green. The white is your switch leg aka nwutral which means to control the on and off. The black is your hot and is the power. The green is your ground to keep everything grounded and safe. If you get any light just connect the exact color wires together. So basically white to white, black to black and green to green, that's it. Just make sure the switches are off, but just to be safe buy a pen size volt tester, their about 10 buck from home depot, get the green and grey one. To use; turn the switches of and touch the tester to the black wire, if it makes no noise then you know if the switch is off you can work with no issues. Sometimes even when the switch is off there can still be power so double check, good luck
Shark Steam Mop is great for hard wood floors once a week, for casual cleaning a swiffer works well on mine. you're in LA, treat yourself to some sanity and have a house keeper come in once a week.
Omg congratulations on your new home! What a difference it was from the state you were in to when you were first in L.A. to now. So inspiring, a reflection of the positive energy you put out into the world!
i really like these non gym vlogs when u are vlogging other things in ur life other then gym kinda helps us in understanding how steve's day to day life is.
You gotta go through the hard times to really appreciate and be thankful for the great ones. You life and you learn. Good for you for moving out there man. You're living my dream! Thanks for being an inspiration!
congrats on your new home. looks like a really nice neighborhood. begin stocking-up on swiffer dry cloth refills.they're very versatile and good on hardwood floors.
This must be such a relief for you Steve! It's been a long time coming, therefore it is so nice to finally see this video and I am so glad for you! Good luck with everything!
Steve, thanks for saying "help this guy out" when I commented that I was close to reaching 200 subs. Imma holla back at you when I'm close to 300 now though huehue 😏
sweep it and use those flat mops that are made from swiffer i believe? very easy and for sure keeps it clean and odor free also it has solutions that clean and are made for hardwood floors!
Hey Steve! In the guest bedroom, look for a power outlet that is upside down! That's the "half-hot" or switch power! If you plug a floor lamp or something into it, it can then be operated be the light switch on the wall!!! Hope this helps!
Great video as always. Never knew about your past history, but it's real inspiring to hear how great you're doing now, keep it up! Things always happen for a reason and everything falls into place, one thing at a time friend.
I use hot water and a wood floor cleaner with a rectangular mop (not the kind of mop with strings). Ensure you squeeze most of the water out. My mop came with a pail that has a squeezer built in. Then buy another dry rectangular mop for daily sweeping.
Steve, have hardwood floors as well. Easiest way to keep clean is take of shoes when come in the house. Invest in a small cordless bissell/dyson type vacuum. To keep the shine, get a swiffer hardwood floor cleaner and swiffer mop.
Beautiful home. For your hardwood floors; get a cleaner and mop specifically made for wood floors, and get a dust mop for sweeping. Don't use a traditional broom on the floor, the bristles will scratch it. Also, you don't have to wax the floor and actually doing so can end up making the floor look older and worn if not kept up. The Bona line is a good option (you can get it at Target;) it's what I used to use when I used to clean houses. :-) Much love and I hope you enjoy your new digs.
The big man on campus living in LA with Von Moger not far away! That's a good move Steve ! Best of luck out there I hope it brings you some happiness ! Keep killing it
Look for some protective plastic coating for the hardwood floor.. its like a roll of clear plastic type to prevent spills, dust etc.. and its reversible.
Put down Rugs in big spaces and you can get little protectors the put under things like couches so they don't scratch the floor. Best of luck in your new pad bro!
The place looks AWESOME. Good for you Steve! Enjoy every minute of living alone, and get to that physique that brought us Swoldiers here. Lots of love from Norway
The switches on the guest room walls that don't seem to work usually control the sockets in the room. So, if you buy a floor lamp and plug it into the socket that the wall switch controls you can turn it on and off from that switch.
Steve, to take care of the hardwood floors, its about maintenance. It's more about not doing things to it. Get used to not slamming your stuff on the ground when you get groceries or new furniture. If any liquid falls on it, wipe it asap. If not, it will suck it up like a sponge and expand, pushing other boards with it. For scuff marks from shoes and stuff, there is a cleaner they sell in home depot and a special rag pole, do that once a month. My best advice for you is try to cover the place up with rugs, just for peace of mind. Good luck, hope you have a great time in this place. Also, what does a place like this go for in LA?
I worked for an interior design company in Houston, I could do it for you, but I just moved to Napa Ca from Texas. Moving is sooo hard but a badass adventure. Kinda in the same boat, moved for a life change and to take a new direction in my career. Good luck!! Awesome house btw!
hey Steve Kudos for you buddy, I am happy for you and my God keep on blessing you on every project! keep it up man and remember always stay humble just like you are

Linseed oil looks good on hardwood, especially darker wood, you put it on like varnish but its not as thick or sticky and will help give the floor some protection from scratches 👌👌
I wish you the best. Moving is always stressful but you are going to be alright if you follow your own advice take on jobs one at a time and move on as you finish each one. We are all rooting for you!
To take care of hardwood floors, mix 5 parts bleach to 7 parts hydrofluoric acid and apply to surface for 10 minutes. Wipe down with kitchen paper afterwards.
Windex to clean them... Don't waste your money of expensive cleaner. To go with that get a micro fiber mop and you are set. Vacuuming wont hurt to it if you need to to a major clean up.
"mrkate" is a UA-cam interior designer in LA I would love to see you guys collab! Rugs & felt tip sliders for your furniture will protect your floors :)
Best way to clean hard wood floors... dust mop, little bit of liquid detergent, and finish with drinking a protein shake. At least that is what it says online.
Ahh you're a lovely human Steve. Best of luck with your next chapter. You are right. You wouldn't be where you are today if it wasn't for your past. Enjoy everyday. At the end of the night just go somewhere quite and meditate. Peace and happiness dude!

you're in LA, treat yourself to some sanity and have a house keeper come in once a week.
4:50 check those switches are for your outlets. Plug a lamp in to the wall, leave the lamp on, flip the switch, light turns on and off.
+Daniel Burnette Nice add Daniel. It'll usually be the outlet that's upside down. Welcome back to Cali Steve! Your place is gorgeous.
congrats on your move man! hope to see you and Calum collabing a lot more now :D
get those little rubber things to put under the couch legs and tables to protect from scratches
