As a dane I can see she could have a Scandi streak, but I think just being Irish many already have a bit of ancestry in them already

What a brilliant programme. Dame Judi was clearly delighted with her family tree. It's as if she was destined to play Ophelia. Magical.

No British person should be surprised, when his or her ancestry points to Denmark! At least half the population should logically have some Danish ancestry - either as close as Dame Judi in time or a few (!) centuries earlier.

My grandfather came over from Denmark…his name was Lauritz Jensen Norgaard, his first name Americanized to Lawrence when he arrived. He came from the farm & had 16 brothers & sisters, a few of which also made the journey. I look at pictures of my great grandmother & think “WOW! My heritage is mainly Danish with some Scottish mixed in. Hope to visit one day! 🌷

Did I hear her say at the start that she didn't know any of her mother's family or did I mishear? It certainly puzzled me during this fascinating show why this was so especially when for the sake of a show we were taken straight over to Denmark . Still one of the best I've seen. Can some one clear this up for me please?

I was about to reply to you with an argument..but then I Googled it and found: " The Library of Congress recommends the following: “Before handling any collection item, thoroughly wash and dry hands. Contrary to widespread belief, gloves are not necessarily recommended to handle rare or valuable books. ... And gloves often carry far more dirt than clean hands." Thanks, Kaffekaffe.
