Eh, not really on the Ball. He'd clearly never heard of 'Sunshine of Your Love', dropped his pen a good few times and told a long boring made-up story in a monotone. Vince was better at this, he has the right kind of ridiculous shock-jock way of talking down (with sound effects, etc.) and talked up all the bands featured in a big attention-grabbing way.
I really miss Headbangers Ball and 120 Minutes- old MTV, these shows were on late at night in Europe and I was staying up on school nights just to watch these vids from Cult and Skid Row...Good times

Man,I would pay big money to go back in time to just touch, brush and comb their hair, mostly Vince’s and Nikki’s. So long n thick n fluffy😍😍 and they click so beautifully in some of the videos of Motley Crue I've watched.
jeez...i grew up with being friends with a lot of rock band type head bangers but I dont ever recall them wearing shorts at all. Combining shorts and the head banger look is tough to pull off.
I would have loved to been a fly on the wall while Metallica and Motley Crue (supposed arch enemies) were hanging out on tour together. that must have been interesting.
Thanks for the video! I would have loved to have seen some of the vids they were introducing! I really miss mtv back in the day..... And when we were all young & hot looking! lol
if you wanted to communicate with the show you had to watch the show til the end and hope they showed the snail mail address and send them a letter and wait 10 weeks lol
+raceyro It sure was. I think it was their worst era ever. Shorts... Yuck! The only rocker that ever successfully pulled off wearing shorts was ACDC's Angus Young. And it's a terrible look. But he's cool, so it's ok for only him.
Ahh, late 1991. The last death throes of 80’s glam metal as the new era of grunge was about to be ushered in and take over the world for the next 3-4 years.
VINCE WILL ALWAYS LOOK GOOD TO ME I HAVE HAD A THING FOR HIM SINCE I WAS 17 YEARS OLD I HAVE EVEN HAD DREAMS ABOUT HIM TOO DAM YOUR NOT KIDDING LOL!!!!!!
@@mistermackey638 Absolutely nothing Lol, Vince left because he was drinking a lot and was clashing with the other members most of them were sober at that point...
@@anaseymour4556 Yeah I mean a lot of those glam bands just started releasing a lot of mediocre crap beginning in '92, including Motley Crue. The arrival of a new scene just lined up perfectly with that.
Did Nikki say he liked Nirvana? I like how Vince blew it off and said nothing, I would have done the same. I remember when Headbangers Ball started playing alternative bands, it went downhill pretty fast. It went from a great show to well...a pretty crappy show.
Nikki respected the grunge movement. I honestly think Motley could have continued to have success in the 90s if it wasn't for Vince being kicked out. I think they were one of the few 80s bands that could have adapted easily. By the time Vince came back for Generation Swine it was too late
@@gamma21285 Vince didn't like the way the music was going, he was basically being difficult while Motley was making the album that Corrbi sang on. I heard him say in an interview that he wasn't a fan of alternative music, his first solo album was more his thing, and mine as well.
@@irocitZ I loved the album with Corabi it was their strongest point in songwriting, I think they should have kept Corabi and Motley would have found a new identity and fans would have excepted John Corabi with time he was a much better singer than Vince and he brought more to the table being a songwriter.
I mean many of those early 90's bands WERE alt. metal, even Soundgarden and Alice in Chains. Nirvana's first album had a kind of sludgy alt metal feel to it. It wasn't much of a stretch to have them on HB, especially when they were clearly heavier than bands like fucking Slaughter and Firehouse, who were considered metal at the time.
What is with that hand-on-heart gesture they keep doing? Is that a private Nikki&Vince symbol, or unconscious body language? Either way, it's weird to see them getting on so famously. This was like their second honeymoon.
@@cellblocknine5385 Almost. In one of the Crue autobios (can't remember which one), there's a story about a wasted threesome that they started with one of their girlfriends (Beth? Not sure), after a night at the Cathouse drinking. IIRC the story correctly, though, Nikki stopped and walked away a few minutes in.
Nikki Sixx is perfection❤️
My grandparents received a $300 phone bill from my aunt calling in to the show. She tried to blame me(I was 10)😂
😂😂😂
Hahaha

If I were alive in those days, I would definitely be watching MTV for Headbangers Ball.
Magical Times back then.
I did :)

Such good vibes in here.
Vince Neil is seriously the sexiest man that will ever exists. The way he moves, talks, n sings. It’s just everything! 😍
Have you seen him lately?
C B yes I have.. lol he’s Vince Neil though! 😍 Besides we all get old one day!
he definitely aged the worst out of them all
Paulina Łaba True.. 😂😂😂
He didn’t need the plastic surgery. All he had to do was get back in shape and go back to his trademark blonde! He would have aged great.
No one :
Nikki : WE'RE BACK
I love them saying, “Ozzy! Ozzy! Ozzy!”

This whole thing did have a very 'coupled' vibe. I dig it, whatever works for them.

Somehow Vince pulled it off here, he looked cute. I think it's his beautiful cheekbones & rich tan that saved the situation, though.

nirvana, one of my favourite new bands, Vince....yeah....hmmm
Those early 90s shorts and Vinces visor. Haha

We need headbangers ball back on mtv! Not these shitty tv shows that have nothing to do with music
Nikki Sixx bowing Nirvana, cool
