MEET The RECLUSE SPIDER You NEVER KNEW Existed!

- The brown recluse is arguably the second most well known spider in the United States after the black widow but did you know they have a smaller cousin? These small brown spiders live in some of the harshest habitats in the US and spend their time safely nestled under rocks away from prying eyes. I want to seek out the desert dwelling recluse to see if you should be worried about finding this spider in your backyard! Thanks for watching!

My cousin Billy Bob was bitten by a brown recluse and suffered amputations as a result, fortunately after the amputation of his head the symptoms subsided.....
Hey Jack! I've watched your episodes about recluse bites. They were great.
When is Spencer's turn to try it ??? ☺️
Hey jack! I will join a discord server if you have one! Sorry for being a ghost in your community for a while. You do awesome work, and i will leave comments more often! Jack for presidentl
Look at that adorable eight legged arachnid.
I live in California and I've found these guys before in the high desert area and I have a picture of one on my gloves hand. The one I found was a male I believe.
_keeping it real Jack!!!! 💪🏽💯%_
What a docile little animal. Love it!
One of the best educational channels on UA-cam. No one is doing it like Jack. My kids and I are always stoked to see your content. Thanks for what you do and keep it up.
Wow, thanks!
Heck yeah. More Jack wild beans content. We love to see it.
the spider are looking really cool 😊. greets Stefan
Super cool spider! Im driving to arizona in a few hours and i can't wait to find some cool bugs!
Good luck!
I feel like Im cheating on my favorite Red Widdow by watching this. 😂
😂😂😂
Huh, well I guess I am not the only Jack out there who loves spiders (much to my mom’s horror since she has severe arachnophobia)! 😄 I have been handling spiders ever since I was 7 years old (Argiope garden spiders are my lifelong favorites, as my own videos imply). But I just don’t have the heart to press one against my skin because I don’t want to risk hurting her. 😔 But I just watched several of your videos and enjoyed them so I subscribed! Maybe in some future video you will do a Argiope garden spider? I have held hundreds and never been bitten but I heard it is basically like a minor bee sting. Anyway, keep helping the world to understand that these beautiful, fascinating little creatures are not evil and that they have no interest in hurting anyone.
Thanks for dispelling the myths of these lovely creatures. It looks like the desert has gotten some decent rain?
Yup! We went during the monsoons, but the Sonoran desert is also among the wettest deserts on earth! Lots of plant life here!
@@JacksWorldofWildlife Very cool. I love your videos, and share with my wife and kids! We now all relocate spiders from our home instead of killing them - respect!
My mom was bit on the hand and my granny was bit right above the eye
Let me guess. Your mom lost her hand and your granny lost half her skull? Lol
Lord have mercy the intro cuts has that first spider in the bottle and my brain didnt process it fast enough. I thought it was a clip of you with the recluse and me bum sucked up into my throat.
What a cute and very professional guest!
Indeed!
Amazing tshirt!!!
Thanks! They’re available in my store!
Hi Jack great show! could you do a show and maybe take a bite from the yellow sack spider? also maybe do a show on spiders in Oregon.thanks!!!
Cool idea!
You can save the lives of many future yellow sack spiders that I encounter by letting one bite you in a video. I tend to squish them (out of self-defense) when I see them in the house. But if I see you take a bite (or even bites from multiple yellow sacs) and walk away from it unscathed, then maybe I will make it a point to put them outside when I see them in the house.@@JacksWorldofWildlife
AMAZING SHOW!!!!
Have you ever eaten cactus fruit?
I sure have!
They are delicious from what I recall! Like a big juicy strawberry with a bit of a watermelon flavor profile. Definitely an underrated fruit.
Earrrlyyyy. Keep em comin jack!
You got it!
Those are very dangerous. I once bumped my shin into a rock, searching for one. The pain is no joke.
😂😂😂
I’m in California and had a verified bite from a brown recluse in bed. I don’t believe native to California but believe it came in furniture I purchased and was delivered. The bite rotted away about quarter size hole in my leg. Although pain was pretty minimal but I ended up with almost 105 degree fever and doctors had me come it. The bite was bad. I don’t blame the spider and still one of my favorite spiders I just have stupid bad luck being bitten by something not native to where I live.
Definitely out of range, and hitchhikers on furniture are unlikely. Did you see the actual spider that bit you, or diagnosed off symptoms?
@@JacksWorldofWildlife yes had actual spider I think why it bit me I was asleep probably felt the tickle of it walking on me smacked it in my sleep and it didn’t like that. I’m sort of animal nerd and was pretty easy to tell what it was. I’m sure it got me better than most one because I have bad luck lol and two probably pinned it against me good when I smacked down. Please don’t think I’m against the spider think anything bad about them my point is if they bite you right it can cause some issues. I know 99% of them won’t cause this reaction but can happen. I have also been unlikely enough to get bit by black widow as well and I had much worse issues with the recluse but just my personal experience. I still think all wildlife is amazing and never upset for a spider just being a spider and being unlucky enough to come across me.
Your videos have really helped to alleviate some of my big fear of spiders! In fact, I no longer kill house spiders, I let them be. So, thank you. I'm still not cool with black widows though.
There's still time!
First!
Love Jack your awesome!♥️
Thanks Jack for all the wonderful content, and hard work you put into these informative videos. You are very much appreciated! 😊
Er why are people scared of these creatures. It makes no sense to me ❤
People fear that which they do not know. Too many legs. Too many eyes. Possible venom. I also, don’t really understand the fear because I have always absolutely adored entomology and arachnids since I was very young. They are awesome though
I take yearly trips to Death Valley, im usually looking for scorpions and tarantulas but after watching this I think I’m going to target these guys next. What a cool spider
I'm convinced that spider is a paid actor.
Hahaha! What makes you say that?!
That's cool and all, but which spider would give me Spider-Man powers? 😂
😂 none that I’ve found so far 😮💨
@@JacksWorldofWildlife Hahha, how unfortunate! 🤣Keep up the great videos man, I'm a long time follower and love seeing how your channel has grown!
Wonderful little Spidey she's really awesome! Thank you Jack for showing her to us.
It’s my honor!
Quite the riveting encounter! Jealous that you got one of the Loxosceles I haven’t seen yet lol
Easily remedied my friend 😉
Jack! There’s a spider on your shirt!! Watch out!
I would like to see you go through the identification characteristics for some of these insects.
After watching many of Jack's spider videos, my fear has become an appreciation for spiders.
Love it!
Hello Jack, a general question about spider venom. If I am bitten by a mosquito, I can let the mosquito's saliva break down with heat, so to speak, which reduces the itching and the release of histamine. Does this also work with spider venom, for example if I press a heated spoon onto the bite site the spider's venom disintegrates, so to speak? And thank you very much for your fantastic videos
The spider venom is injected into the circulatory system so it spreads into tissue and lymph as well as blood fairly quickly. It’s unlikely a heated spoon would break down a large portion of the venom.
Beautiful!!!!
Wonderful video! Thank you so much for what you do, you impact viewers perspectives on these amazing creatures. You are making a difference! Keep it up man.
Thanks for watching!
Hey, jack, could u do an episode on the chilean recluse
I certainly could 👀
Great video Jack, I didn't pay much attention to this species while I was out in AZ and honestly didn't realize that they are true recluse spiders. So neat that there are harmless species even within Loxosceles!
The Sonora Desert is an awesome place! There is so much cool stuff to see out there in that hot environment.
Absolutely!
"As long as you keep the hole in your arm clean you'll be good."
Nothing more than a blister
You should've gotten some footage of the crab spiders that are everywhere under rocks. Big and mean looking
Chilean recluse spider bite video is certainly not doable. Nor is one of the Sydney funnel-web, six-eyed sand or Brazilian wandering spider.
*_Here's the world's deadliest spider:_*

Great video jack 😊
Glad you enjoyed!
I think you should take 10 black widow bites at once and see how it goes. Cant be that bad
Want to see spider bites Mr Jack lmao 🤣
Most don’t believe that.
Google Tustin Michigan. A few years back a nurse was bit by one didnt realize they were in central Michigan, it bit her directly in a vein in her ankle, husband called ambulance after a few days she was worse, she died.
By a recluse? They do not range into Michigan.
3:19 they are sharp, but not sharp enough to cause you to bleed. There to blunt. Jumping cacti are the sharpest.
F those cholla
I really still do not like creepy crawly thingies...
But the more i learn about the them... The more I learn to appreciate them.
Thanks Jack for always teaching us and giving us a great show!! 🤓🤓
That’s what I’m here for! 😎
A few years back, while living in Rancho Cucamonga, I woke up with a spider bite on my foot. A couple days later, the bite turned into a deep hole roughly the size of a quarter. At the hospital, the doctor pointed out the red lines going up my ankle above the hole and told me that it was blood poisoning and, had I waited a couple more days or so, they would've had to amputate my foot to save my life. They didn't know what bit me, so I researched recluse bites and the one that looked most like mine was from a "hobo spider". . . . . QUESTION FOR JACK. . . What do you know about the hobo spider and is it possible that one was responsible for the hole in my foot?? . . Or is there another type of recluse in southern California that can do that??
Just a bacterial infection. There are no spiders on the west coast that can cause anything like that
Yellow sac spiders are common here in Oregon. I've heard mixed reports on how poisonous they are. I have not found a video of someone getting bit by one. I would like to see what happens when a person is bit by a yellow sac spider. Since I am not a professional spider handler; Jack, I challange you to find a yellow sac spider and allow it to bite you. I look forward to watching the video. My guess is that you will be screaming in pain after the bite.
They do not have a dangerous bite lol
Also the Hobo spider in Oregon have bit folks and had to be treated in a hospital, i lived there years ago., they can become a problem coming in homes in numbers
Hobo spiders are harmless. Total myth they can cause dangerous effects with their bites.
