I keep hearing that Danish did something stupid here, but it's actually the opposite. He just underestimated Roy's stupidity - in the end, Danish's disappearance on the Tillman farm also led to the police being charged, among other things. Danish is used to playing smart, institutional games - Roy's response is "BOOM"
Roy’s not stupid, he’s just ruthless. He was also too proud, he didn’t want to have to make a deal to win the election. I don’t even think it had anything to do with wanting to keep Dot there. His belief is that, no matter what, if he kills you, you lose. Which, is kinda true 😂
He should've known that Roy was a loose cannon. He knows Roy publicly assaulted a woman at his debate. It's clear that he isn't the type of guy who thinks before he acts. Danish is usually a smart guy but this was not an example of it. You are right that that he underestimated just how profoundly stupid Roy was.
Danish had every reason to believe he held all the cards. In a rational conversation he would've been right to dismiss Roy's threat as posturing, unfortunately the moment he walked into the compound he entered redneck bizarro world. He underestimated Roy's willingness to completely self destruct over Dot.
Danish was a bit of a revelation. With the job, his boss Lorraine, his eye patch and general demeanor you think hes going to be a right prick. When the reality is hes only a bit of a prick, cos how could you not be in his line of work. He actually turns out to be a generally decent and courageous individual. Nobody made him walk in there after Dot.
Roy was right, in a sense. Danish wasn't smart enough: a smart man wouldn't be in the same room with an animal. He mistook Roy for a man and assumed his rationality.
Dude I totally agree, I keep seeing UA-cam channels hating on it saying it's not working and it missed the mark I don't know what they were watching I thought it was right on par with season 1 and 2
Dont think him having a gun would help, he was probably searched before entering the property anyway. He did hesitate to go, but in a previous episode a cop told him she is kidnapped and he needs to hurry if he wants to save her. He took a risk to try to save her, didnt pay off though, but courageous attempt nonetheless.
@@aristotleasparaguspodcast1129 You think it was smart meeting this man ALONE? Regardless, he still went alone. 🤣 Y'all can try and twist it any way you like, Danish is still a dumbass.

Don't assume that it's trying to trick you, or prove that it's more clever than you. Just actually listen to what is being said
A general rule of diplomacy is to not murder the ambassadors. Danish didn't think he was in much danger because Roy killing him didn't help Roy at all. It was a stupid move that only a complete and utter idiot like Roy would do. Danish was far braver than Roy ever will be. He literally scoffed when Roy pulled out a gun, and died trying to help a woman. Also the contrast is huge. The big strong sheriff is usually depicted as the good guy, and the lawyer to a powerful rich woman is usually shown as a coward and a bad guy, but in this case, the roles are reversed
Season 3 is underrated and always has been imo. Rewatched it recently and granted it is more of a slow burn than any other season, and much more psychological but after episode 4 it really picks up. Plus Varga is one of the greatest villains of all time, up there with Malvo, Gus Fring, and Anton Chigurh in my opinion. I actually liked this newest season quite a bit too, more than I expected
@@ItheauthorityI Not to mention his presence there was later discovered by Indira and Lorraine due to his cell phone pinging the nearest tower. If that hadn't happened, they wouldn't know with any certainty where he or Dot were located (his arrival likely prevented Roy from killing her, as he seemed ready to do so). And the whole reason Danish goes there without ever telling Lorraine is because he felt bad for having Dot (who was also his own client) unjustly committed and felt that he owed it to her to try and help (which ties into the season's themes regarding debt). Unfortunately, he went in there with the naive assumption that money and power can solve any problem; he completely underestimated just how rigid Roy is in his beliefs and how quick he is to resort to violence, and it cost him his life.
@Magnonxyes 100% agree with you about the character of Tillman. He didn’t make sense whatsoever. He was a MAGA man written from the perspective of a leftist. A polygynist, a pdf file, a militia leader, an ultra conservative republican far right wing extremist. Just cringe. If they had just made him a corrupt cop/politician, abusive husband trying to find his runaway wife, he would have been a great villain.
I dont understand why he would ask Danish a question but then kill him before he can answer, it just seems like he could have waited for an answer otherwise why ask the question
Why not just call him on the phone? Why go there & especially bring up ruining his campaign to his face knowing he’s violent? Watching this season to the previous seasons especially 1 & 2 is like night & day
I think Danish was trying to save Dot. Witt told him to act, and act fast. Danish was trying to do what was right. He said “immediate release” Danish thought he could have Dot out of there in his Porsche that night
That’s one of the only things that DOES make sense in this terrible season. A man like Danish would never expect a man like Roy Tillman to kill him… mostly because it makes absolutely zero goddamn sense that he would.
