    What a wonderful video. Love, Love all those that are in bloom and in spike soon to bloom. You are such a wonderful mom to those orchids and to all your orchids. You are a great mentor to me and I am learn so much from you. Taking your tips and tricks and trying them out on my orchids is one why to learn and knowing what will work and what will not. Beside how are we going to learn if we don't take the plunge and try for ourselves. Thank you for your knowledge.

    Hi Danni, I just wanted to share with you I have been enjoying so many spikes on my Phalaenopsis ever since your video on temperature and phal spikes. I dropped the nighttime temperature down to 62-64° F, and wouldn't you know, I had tiny starts of spikes within 48 hours or so. No exaggeration. I am so thrilled, thank you! And on a side note, my vanda which I have been growing for 5ish years also spiked this month.....the first time ever, since I bought it in bloom. The vanda spike took weeks longer to start, by the way. These were the result of the same grow space, night temperature, etc. Just fyi, or your viewers fyi, I live in the US near the Canadian border and we have pretty cold winters so all my growing takes place in the heated house, even in the summer.....the nights are too chilly. (Sorry this comment is attached to the wrong vid!) But much appreciation to you and your channel, Danni, thanks again!

    Thank you for your videos! I was given a phalaenopsis nine months ago. I had never had this planned so searched online for help and found you! You’ve been a great help! After it was done blooming I bought the proper mix and fertilizer to repot it after it finished blooming. A couple months later it got a new leaf and several new words. I house is 65 at night I am 70° during the day. The plant sits in front of a north window with no obstructions outside. I was looking forward do it blooming again but now I see it’s getting another new leaf which I think means no flowers? Any suggestions? And just to add, my daughter-in-law received one a year ago does everything wrong and has two new flower stocks! It desperately needs repotting it’s in the low light situation and never gets finalized And is overwatered! A little frustrating for me!

    You are a treasure! I was afraid of cattleyas but was given one from a division, and I would like to put it outside. What do you think is the lowest overnight temperature they can tolerate? I'm trying to figure out how long to wait. Thank you for all your wonderful videos and experiments.

    Hey Danni, if the temperature for orchids is constantly 52F degree will it cause problems for the plants and prevent it from spiking another flower stem??? Love your video btw 😀👍👍

    Hi Danny. Great video as always. I have a question. I have purchased Cattelya Hawaiian Wedding Song from Lucke. It had a very inconvenient shape. At the moment it is laying horizontally in the container with the moss and growing few roots as it came rootless. I am lucky that the newest pseudo bulb still able to grow few roots. However when it arrived it was planted vertically with the oldest bulbs being buried in the pot. I just don't know how to pot it now.😳 Thank you.

    Great collection! What about getting few more botanical species and primary hybrids as you did with phals? C. Warscewiczii produces the biggest flowers of the Cattleya genus, up to 27-30 cm according to what I read on trustworthy websites!
    Some Dowiana (I think you might have a young one?), Trianae, Schroederae (those two have longer lasting flowers that most Cattleyas according to Chadwick), Labiata...would be awesome in your collection
    Some coerulea forms, you don't have much blueish ones, very much orange...

    • @ninathesupercat925

    Also, I have a question on your merch. Could you make a design that spells out the name Miss Orchid Girl instead of abbreviated? I want a shirt that shows off that I am also an orchid girl. I also had another idea for a design where there's lots of pictures of different orchids all over the shirt or around the neck like a necklace. Thought that since I can't decide which orchid is the one I like best, and I'm too poor to get lots of shirts, so one with many types of flowers! The pics you show are so great it looks like you could just cut the flower out and make a collage and bam it's a t-shirt! I'm sure it's a lot harder than that and you didn't ask for my ideas so I'm not trying to be rude just enthusiastic 😀👍👍

    Thank you for all the fabulous videos! If this is not the place to ask feel free to delete it, but I was wondering if you could talk about the growth rate of various orchids? As a beginner I was looking for some "fast" growing ones and couldn't find a good source of information other than vague descriptive information. For example, everyone say Brassavola is a "fast-growing" one, but I wonder how fast should I expect. I gradually come to terms with the fact that orchids will definitely teach me patience though haha. Anyways, thanks for the amazing and super informative videos all along! Cheers

      @MissOrchidGirl  4 роки тому

      Hi, I never worked with them, or ever spoken to them. It was just an app from the play store 🤷 I actually discovered I was spending more time writing entries in the diary, than doing actual useful work, so I gave it up after a while. It's a nice concept, but one needs a lot of free time to make use of it 😋

      If your orchid already dropped more than one leaf you should check for root rot or stem root. I lost one of my favorite phals to stem rot last spring and she was losing leaf after leaf in a very short time span (about two or three weeks or so)
