DEADLY SNAKE Invaded My POND & ATE My FISH!

  • In today's video, I go searching for the mysterious animal that has been eating my fish for over a month! After losing HUNDREDS of fish including my 2 rare paddlefish, I decided to drain my backyard pond and net all of the fish out to transport them somewhere more safe until we find out what's eating them! We suspected the alligator came back and has been killing our fish, however... After catching out TONS of my pet fish including fire eels, oscars, arowanas, redtail catfish, cichlids, koi, AND MORE we discovered a highly venomous coral snake inside of my pond, but it looks like one of my fish attacked and killed it... After netting more fish out we started feeling something going around inside of my filter, and when we looked inside we discovered a MONSTER invasive snake living inside! We suspect that this 6ft snake was the one eating my fish so we removed it and were able to put my fish back into their home!

That Boa looked pretty pristine and very healthy. Didn't look like its been in the wild long, nor did it look like it was filled with ticks, or looked too mangled from fights...so Im gonna say Im about 95% sure it either got lose from someone else, or someone released it because they couldnt take care of it anymore.

Leporinus is the stripy fish. Real bummer with the paddlefish. Do they have any more? If so and they were feeding well then please get replacements. They were a wonder!!! I used to collect pythons and boas, handsome snakes but good to see you find and remove it. I come here for the fish, not escaped common reptiles.

Some things you just don’t want to know. I used to get a rattlesnake repellent. It was granular and you made a line with it on the ground and they didn’t cross it. Whatever was in it irritated the snake’s belly and it had a smell they didn’t like. There was no discernible smell to me though. I don’t know what other kinds of snakes it works on but it might be something to check out. Ever since I lost a horse to a snake bite I get rid of any rattlesnakes that I find on my property.

  • @MrNoNameSoldier

It looks like a very dull columbian redtail boa. I hate to tell you this but that is not your fish eater. They are exclusive to rodents, birds and small mammals. If I had to guess you have a egret, heron, or other bird that had found your pond and is making a meal of your fish. Or possibly a banded water snake? I don't think you have found your fish killer yet unfortunately.
Edit: thinking on it the remainder of that coral snake makes it even more likely that it is a bird of some type. That is why the head and upper portion was missing I would guess.

Doubt that the Boa ate that many fish! They will eat small fish but fish are not top on the list for their food chain! Frogs, toads, mice, rats, and other small mammals are what they are really after and they will eat those before they would go after fish so that is probably what that Boa was after around your pond as well as the small mammals that come to the pond to drink! They sense heat from their prey and are basically ambush hunters hiding near logs and tall grass in wait of their prey! That one looked well taken care of, had no ticks or parasites so was probably someones escaped pet and had not been in the wild but for a few days at most! Raccoons are notorious for scooping fish out of ponds as well as other small mammals which the Boa was probably laying in wait for while they were hiding in the brush waiting for a fish to swim close enough to scoop out of the pond and you probably would not have seen any of this on the camera!

The likelihood that the boa was the culprit for your missing fish is very low. Based on the temperament it looks like it was a released/escaped pet and probably has eaten nothing but rodents its entire life. sure a wild boa may eat birds, mammals, other reptiles, amphibians, and maybe occasionally a fish, they are not what you'd refer to as a "fish eating snake" like water snakes are. you should keep looking.

Wow! What a beautiful Boa! I love snakes and that one is so docile! It had to of been someones pet at one time. Poor thing. I think you should try to find a home for it cuz it obviously looked like it missed human contact. Sorry it ate your expensive paddle fish and other fish too. But glad you found it before anymore fish got eaten or it got hurt. I wonder what ate the head off the coral snake? That was so odd to see. Great video! Keep up the awesome content!❤

Most likely someone got the Boa and then changed their mind once it got bigger and just let it loose...so many people do that in Florida...everywhere, really😢💔

I do believe Florida will pay you for catching that snake because it is invasive to Florida. If I was you would check into it. God bless you and your family my friend. p.s. what happened to Rob he seemed really good for the channel.

It's pythons that are invasive. Boas are legal last I heard.

Still illegal to dump, cause they’re not native here.

    • @tammyblankenship8742
      @tammyblankenship8742 Рік тому +1

@@GlowingTrashPanda99 Of course, it would be illegal to dump lol. That's a given. Just saying they weren't illegal as pets. Hopefully, it wasn't euthanized.

Just made it to 15:28, just so you know the second snake was a common boa constrictor and non venomous
Edit: just noticed it is also most likely someones pet on a count of how nice it was

That coral snake would scare the ever loving crap out of me. The boa is a sweetheart and beautiful, probably a lost or abandoned pet. I hope it isn't euthanized.

[EDIT 2: HELL YEAH HATS OFF TO A CORRECT SPECIES ID! Proud of you man… getting that species correct was super important in this vid.
And boyo if you think that boa was a big snake you should spend a night in the Everglades. 😅]
[EDIT: Ahhhhh ok, it’s a very dead coral snake… that was an awesome prank… got it, something ate the head off the coral snake. AWESOME.]
Holy crap dude… that’s… a coral snake. One of the deadliest envenomations in all of nature (but fortunately rear-fanged so rather less dangerous than the hype) and something I’ve never seen in the wild! That’s AMAZING! I never imagined your oasis would attract one of them buggers!!

Bobby so crazy that happened to your fish. I recently had 5 fish go missing and I caught my 3 stupid chickens assassinating them from my small 30gal aqua garden. 3 tequila sunrise guppies,1 panda coreydora and 2 ember tetra. Made me sad/mad. They are pet chickens we hatched from incubator and they have been free to roam the yard. It must stop!!

My money is on a raccoon or another alligator. That boa would not have taken the volume of fish you're talking about in the short space of time.
They'd be happy with a decent size rat or two every few weeks.

i didn't see many fire eels and they mostly sit in the filterbox or the pipes maybe the boa ate them too
it feels really sad for your loss
    do cichlid pond cleaning quick
when you showed it was like you only have kois in it
