Finally a review, kinda weird I’m watching a review when I already have the shoe lol but good video yeah definitely big downside is the toe cap flaring out since they changed it from a one piece , might start skating mine , did you have on the adidas tyshawn in the beginning ? I have the same ones
Cameron Haynes I did! Honestly the Tyshawn’s were taking forever to break in and wasn’t to stoked on them I prefer the Busenitz when it comes to Addidas. Love the Joslin’s tho! You should skate them forsure 👊🏼
Dude this channel is amazing! Keep up with the content. Just saw the Nyjahs video. Love teh quality and that you have an actual skate filmer. Your tricks are dope too!
Do they run true to size I wear a 10.5 but when I jump down stairs they push my toes should I go for an 11? I have his first model and everyone including me said go a half size up
1.The blue color way only comes in suede. 2. There is 3 layers including the top “canvas” layer. 3. There is a lace cover over the first THREE eyelets to cover your Ollie zone. 4. Nice kickflip down the set.
Really dope skating for a shoe review and a nice bag of tricks. I just bought these today along with a pair of marana’s. They are too clean and crispy to skate so I’m just gonna skate my OG accels till I no longer can lol
Jonas Mi yes somehow I missed that before filming this.. I began using it and after a few days it ripped so can’t use the protector any more. Still a great shoe even with a ripped lace they are very secure on your foot
Somehow I missed that at first.. definitely could have saved some laces! Just finished skating them and eventually tore through the protector. Still a great shoe will be getting another pair soon
ACG WestsideSB the soles are very durable! Only got one smooth spot and it was on my back foots heel (from dragging to slow down) didn’t form until they were 3-4 weeks old and did not form an actual hole
@@acgwestsidesb6410 The toe wore out quicker but was about the same time as the sole. Really depends how much you skate and how much you flip your board
Nice review and a great skating!🔥 New sub here🔥 quick dumb question from a rookie: If i switch from vulc to cupsole shoes will this affect my skating? Or this isnt a huge deal?
I really need some advise for my Kickflips. I watched several kickflip tutorials and most of them say that its best to place the front foot on the front bolts, but to me this position feels awkward and i cant really flick upwards from this position. Can i send you some videos of me doing some kickflips and you help me with it? (Maybe in a how to kickflip video?)
Jonas Mi send me a Video of you trying in a DM on Instagram @skateintel I’d be happy to help! I always place my foot right under the front bolts not on top of them
Danny Hard choice! Both shoes broke in very quick, had good board feel and lasted about the same time. The Shane’s are a lot thinner when it comes to the padding while the Joslin’s are very Thick. (Shane’s felt similar to slip ons) I think it mainly comes down to if you like a lighter thin shoe or a heavy more padded shoe. Personally I would get a second pair of the Joslin’s I really enjoyed how they skated!
Dope man! I'm just starting out (at 30!) and I think I'm going to grab a pair of these. It's impressive that you burned through them so quick!! Must cost a lung a year to keep buying trainers at the rate you must have to :O :D
i kinda wanna get a pair, but just from the one day review, they look weaker than the marana, unless you have a hefty flick, cus i want them to last long, how do they compare to the maranas on durability for you?
Bhodi Alvarado When I sat down with the shoe that was after a full week of skating everyday. I haven’t skated Marana’s in years so can’t make a good comparison. The toe area on the Joslins are ripping quicker than other shoes I’ve skated however I flip my board a lot and use Mob grip. They may last longer for you depending on your skate style!
Would you say these are durable enough for the money? It seemed pretty beaten up after just a week. I've been enjoying the Es Accel OGs a lot and am looking for a shoe that has slightly more board feel, but same overall padding and protection. Seems hard to find. Oh, and I think I prefer cupsole shoes at that.
PHeMoX The Joslin’s were great with lots of padding and board feel but I have not yet gotten a second pair. If your looking for something less expensive that still has good board feel maybe check out the adidas Busenitz or 3ST.003’s. Both under $80 and skate very well. (Just posted a review for the 3ST’s on my channel if you want to check it out)
@@SkateIntel Thanks, that sounds good. Yeah to be honest, I'm kind of torn between getting shoes that have good board feel and shoes that have good padding for comfort and actual protection (especially on top of the toes). I kind of need the Nyjah Free 2 flick, but the padding on top of something like an Es Accel OG / Slim. And the Vans rubber toe cap doesn't seem to work for me. Probably too much grip, not enough sliding unless the Vans shoe is like nearly destroyed, then it starts to flick good lol. Might have to consider the Joslin 2s, although I'm kind of bummed the durability isn't amazing. The Es Accels OGs I got are a bit too thick to learn kick flips with. There's not much board feel at all, even when confidence riding them is 150% feeling protected. The Nyjah Free 2s I just got is like the opposite. 150% board feel and superb flick, but zero confidence in impact protection (mind you, I'm talking about having the board smash into some toes, not talking about drops down stairs, the cupsole of the Nyjah Free 2 is actually fine, even against primos, even when the insole is super flimsy and pointless). I'm aware a more technically skilled skater will care less and less about the top of the toes and top of the foot being protected. But I hate how getting one hit on the toes in the Nyjah Free 2s, means I can pretty much not skate the rest of that day.
PHeMoX I feel that I’m skating the Nyjah 2’s right now and have gotten hit on top of the toes and hurts like hell! Joslins are the most padded skate shoe I’ve skated in awhile that still have a ton of board feel. Sounds like your not flipping your board as much as I do so I bet they will last a lot longer for you. (Probably the same as any other shoe on the market) I’d say give them a try and I think you will like them 🤟🏼
@@SkateIntel Yeah exactly!! I actually _really_ like the Nyjah 2's, but they would be perfect if they would have a little bit more protection (on top of toes specifically). I've actually ordered another pair to see if getting half a size up is worth it for feet that aren't as narrow. I mean, they are true to size fit, but not quite when it comes to width and to lesser extent height of the toes. I got annoyed by how narrow they feel, so am hoping half a size up will make them more comfortable. The other reason is I want to be able to fit some insoles in there and be able to wear some thicker socks (socks with padded ankles). At the moment I have to use the original SB insoles and thin socks, or the width of the shoe gets very annoying. I might sell the older pair if the bigger size is more comfortable. But the Joslin 2 looks mighty tempting too. It might be closer to the Es Accel OG, which I really like. Just can't get a decent flick with them (yet).
@@PHeMoX Well I hope you get them fitting right! If your thinking about getting the Joslin's I'd recommend it forsure and some shoes just take awhile to get the flick down but I'm sure you got it 👊
SkateIntel i would but we don’t have shoe goo in my country so thats a RIP. But yeah The Michelin rubber is very durable i think that they should just have made The Whole sole out of it

it is also on joslin's first pro model.

Superglue on stitching and pacing them under the flaps makes em last a lot longer

How are they now? Also, after the rubber layer is there another thick layer of suede? Debating whether to get Joslin 1’s again or the 2’s.
I’m done skating them now but it went Suede, Rubber, Suede! I haven’t tried the Joslin 1’s but I really enjoyed the 2’s I’d say give them a try!
