i am working as Software Developer in Middle east having lot of colleagues from india so 2 Majors Issues which i identified in Pakistan's IT industry 1. polishing the raw talent is not possible with only single entity, there should be a public private partnership to do that, in india every IT company has to hire and train a fix number of people every year which is decided by govt via mass hiring program 2. Pakistan's IT industry is totally a Service based company, while if you see india most of them are product based company like zoho , and when you have product you have client which are increasing every month, in Pakistan Most of IT companies are just commission agents
About the 2nd point raised: India does have a lot of product based it companies as of now, however, it wasn't like this before. What really bosted Indias economy were xonsultany firms like TCS and infosys etc. The product based companies were next set up to cater to the growing middle class created by the consultancy firms. In a nutshell, its better that Pakistan focus more on its services based industry as product based companies won't increase our foreign exchange or employees much rather would only circulate the money in the country
Very simplistic view I am sorry to say. Pakistani understanding of the Indian IT industry is very limited and still stuck at the call center level. Let me give you the example of Global Capability Centres that every major global bank in the world runs out of India. These GCCs have evolved from the earlier status of Captive Centres. Without these GCCs, large global banks won't be able to run, change and manage themselves. In these GCCs, very complex banking, financial services and global capital market operations, analytics and all key front office, middle office and back office ops including IT ops are run. JP Morgan itself has more than 70,000 employees in India from the MD, ED to the Associate level. These highly skilled pros come at a cost. Therefore, 3000 is a wrong figure to build a business case. IT industry just doesn't involved Engineers. It involves pros from various fields.
Dude it doesn’t matter if their understanding of the Indian scene is imperfect. The focus was on explains challenges in the local scene. Good on you for explaining the current state. They can probably learn a lot from India. Always a good idea to encourage young people trying to get ahead in life. We all start somewhere.
in India, from last 10 years there are foundations like SIDBI, MSME, SKILL INDIA , IITs, IIMs, etc are skilling India's youth....and these organisations receive heavy funding from private companies as Philanthropy, CSR etc... India is extra-ordinary....we suffered for decades due to bad governance but since last 10 years, things are changing.....we still have few problems like reservation system which limits the real talent to be replaced by less talented due to quota systems...hopefully govt. will find a solution to that too
This is so sad that PAKISTAN has a lot of gems like him who have a vision for the next 50 years but unfortunately, there is not even a single institution or office in PAKISTAN that is not influenced by retired generals of lumber#1 hence these gems have not given a single chance to bring PAKISTAN next level.

16:15 I don't agree because Nvidia's CEO said this to spike up his stock value. He often says such things. If you consider opinion of Meta chief scientist, he has a different opinion on this. Basic coding might be replaced by AI but advanced coding is still going to stay. I'm saying this since I'm both a computer scientist and an ML engineer.
i am founder of a live streaming company and employee 35 People in Pakistan. I agree with every word you said. You have a great understanding of IT sector. Finding a quality engineer in Pakistan is a huge huhe problem.
Indians like you will comfortably sit in India and have the audacity to talk about Pakistan while wagging your fingers. The host has already talked about how Indians exactly like you go to Pakistani content and make comments like the ones you made. Arrogance always kills Please learn some respect. We are all here to learn. If after having an education you aren’t equipped with the civility that comes with education, then your education may have been a waste
The idea that technical knowledge of CS fields combined with other fields like humanities and linguistics etc, is the future, may not be entirely applicable in every context. In product-based industries, technical skills can be leveraged to build innovative solutions, but it's not the only factor that determines success. Also when comparing India and Pakistan there is also a great barrier in the cultural aspect. In india , there is a strong emphasis on cracking interviews and preparing for technical and critical apsects of interview which is not prevalent in pakistan.
You are a gifted podcaster so don’t stop doing what you’re doing. On the side if you have a vision for creating a tech based educational platform that can benefit the country and don’t have the financial resources , there are TONS of people you can partner with that have $ but no time or skill to build it. This way your vision comes alive , and you risk very little. I’m open to brainstorming / connecting you with people that can at least point you in the right direction (if not more)
All Problem a side. I am freelancer and working for last 4 year. Its 10:30 PM here I watching that video in Low quality , Before open that Video . I am refreshing tiktok shop page and It has not opened for last 30 mints due to very slow internet. Its very very frustrating for me. Client waiting for me and I can't do anything. How we can say That Pakistan can Build 20 Billion $ IT Industry. Not Possible
Would be very interesting to listen to your vision and plan at a full length video. 29:10 In my opinion, pesa is not the problem. Companies with similar interests and like minded investers can be taken on-board to invest their money, resource, time and ideas. Because this again, what I understand from your video is a business of the 'education industry' before the IT industry.
It took india 45 years to reach here..market has changed now . Completely. Now so many IT experts are not needed. AI is coming. It doesn't need so many IT experts. Pakistan has missed the revolution.
I think there is one thing that needs to be corrected. Freelance income is not shown as remittance technically. Incoming foreign payments to freelancers are declared as IT services income to the receiving bank (who then reports to SPB), along with proof of contract of work. Only after receiving that documentation and purpose, the bank would clear your payment. Bank deducts a 1% tax on this income for people not registered with PSEB and 0.25% for people registered with PSEB. If someone is declaring their freelance income as remittance, in case of audit they will have to prove who in their family was the sender of that remittance. It may never come to that actually, but most of the freelancers who want to keep their tax declaration clean are paying that 0.25/1% tax and are part of the formal economy as per current rules.
@@designingmania1965 But paying atleast 10 to 20% commissions on various platforms....have high uncertainty in income....more stress....no perks....no medical.....no company cars.....no paid holidays or vacations
There are many ways to bypass local banks, like I created digital bank account in UK many years back, there are many EMI (digital banks) in EU, UK and HK where you open and receive payments. You simply go to ATM or at shops use directly these cards. As the card name will be shown as local and card issuance will be abroad the state bank will register inflow as remittance instead of tourism income. No audit will be able to trace this and there will be no way to know the income. Many freelancers also use western union which again shows remittance. I firmly believe the remittance shown from London or NYC are not actually remittance but freelance income as many banks have HQ in these cities.
A decade ago my dad invested millions in developing an institute named ZIPS with a vision to develop leaders with multi-domain knowledge from technical to business and problem-solving skills but those millions went down the drain, people came in droves to events with food and prizes but when it came to investing in themselves they had a million excuses not mention the bribing, constant hurdles put in the way by the rotten system, Me and my Elder moved to Pakistan to head this venture leaving multiple high-prospect jobs offers on the table for the love of our people and nation even when we mostly grew up overseas. but it perhaps was for the better as we have created multiple businesses ourselves as of now, again there is Divine Hikmah we cannot understand. btw I love this type of video the length is also great for breaking down issues to the core offering some sort of solution to problems and creating an optimistic vision for the future instead of bickering.
Bro, thank you for making this video. It was much needed as I am in the IT industry and was constantly thinking about its growth and future and had many doubts. After watching this video, I have gotten so much clarity and can now make better decisions in moving forward. Also, hearing your dream sounds like my own, and I would love to be a part of it. I would love to contribute to it without expecting anything in return. I will wait for you to take the initiative and be there once you are ready. KEEP GOING! Your "DIL KI BAT" sounds like my own.
18:10 very good point, in Pakistan we have very few educated engineers and even the educated engineers they leave the country, whereas India has hundred thousands of graduates hence they have 20 billion dollar IT industry, we have to really learn from India to boost our IT industry in shaa Allah
think those long videos are much more beneficial than just short videos. There is already so much short content out there, and we don't want you to be one of them. Detailed, complete, and informative videos are your USP, in my opinion.
Hi Muzzamil, I rarely comment on UA-cam videos, but I must say you are doing a commendable job educating Pakistan. I want to appreciate your efforts and sincerely thank you. As an IT graduate from Karachi with over 10 years of industry experience, I believe that those who are unwilling to invest 30-40 minutes in a video do not truly value the opportunity to be educated. Complex topics require ample time to understand and research before they can be explained in a simpler way. Please continue your great work and don't worry about the length of your videos. If someone is truly dedicated to learning, they will invest the time. Keep up the solid work! Cheers!
A very good quality commentary indeed. Duration is of no consequence when a serious subject is explained as elaborately as done by you. Wish you all the luck in realization of your vision. Great job
The part where you mentioned having a plan but lacking funding is quite intriguing to me. I hope to connect with you someday to discuss your ideas and vision in depth and I'm eager to invest every penny I have in you-albeit for my own benefit, not just altruistically😅
Video length is totally okay, Muzammil bhai. Content mattets. And you're doing a phenomenal job in explaining the complex concepts into layman language. Kudos 👏
Don't agree with your AI point, the CEO of Nvidia OpenAI has an agenda to say the AI will dominate, coding and other stuff like call center, graphic design will be obsolete for example but no matter how good these LLM gets they will not be able to replace the humans. Most of AI scientists think AI has reached its peak with LLM because these models are trained on existing data and when the dataset is so large there is a garbage in garage out situation. The efficiency might have reached a plateau. LM is the best and only short toward AGI (Artificial General Intelligence). But even with the advancement being currently made this is no where near. Also there is a cost of training these models and running the servers which is really high and is same as the business model for every other hit or miss silicon unicorn to bleed money now to reap benefits later. LLM AI's are just as Twitter. AI will never reach the level of creativity as a human when all AI is being trained on existing work. There was study done on this AI ranked 3rd on average in almost every scenario. The weight of neurons are tweaked by humans. Humans still decide if the path the AI is taking is correct or not. AI will only be a tool to increase the efficiency like in image processing, helping architect with designs and simulation. Coders with writting generic code. AI will not reach a level where it will be designing really complex systems unless it's been trained multiple similar scenarios. All the demos are meticulously curated but with all that you have seen what flop was Gemini when it was demoed. So take this hype with a dose of skepticism and see what the real AI scientists and activists are saying and doing.
Please keep the video content in the longer format. It makes every detail crisp and valid! You are doing a phenomenal job with your research and delivery. Lots of duas!
I see a clear divergence in this version of Muzammil. This one is more open to speak of the ills of society and not afraid to offend people. I was a bit offended for a few seconds at some statements, Im part of the IT industry and understand how hard it is to create jobs in Pakistan but that doesnt change the fact that the problem is there and discussion without fear of offense is how we can get to the solution. Thanks! Muzammil for shining the spotlight on these issues and a very insightful take on the problem.
There is no lack of educational content, most of it is freely available on UA-cam. The issue is that the standards are so low in Pak, and we have an anti-intellectual culture steeped in orthodoxy that it's impossible to escape the mind cage we have entered. The whole notion of Pak as an Islamic state was ill conceived, it keeps everyone looking at the past and no one except for a few brave individuals is looking to the future.
Introspection or the ability to introspect is step 1. As long as there's folks like you who can call it like it is, maybe there's hope. Respect from India!
As a Principal Software Engineer, I believe the primary issue stems from our education system, particularly the Punjab textbook courses, which are highly detrimental to career development. We also face challenges in communication skills for the international market, and problem-solving skills are developed during schooling. Therefore, I think the root cause is the quality of our schooling.

Iam CS student from szabist I was working hard on CGI and computer graphics rendering. I was trying to create a proprietary solution like Unreal engine unity for opencv etc.i picked graphics API like vulkan and opengl and used java and c++ for implementation. I came very in this journey and rendered things like terrain and water 🌊. I realized that I should share this knowledge with guys of my class I did even pitched an idea of creating a proprietary graphics engine from scratch that could be able to compute high quality graphics in low system resources. They were like that there are just not interested into it and we're saying that iam just copying pre existing solution. I think the main problem with CS students in Pakistani universities is the mentality and knowledge. i must say most them are Soo dumb that they don't even what they are gonna do after graduation as there is no culture of working together on something or believing in some ones vision instead we see people getting jealous or planning cheap tactics to take a talented person down
I am trying to learn opengl too. Just for fun. Certainly I am dumb because I am unable to make fly through camera. Still confused about matrices. I sure will be able to do it. Do you have any references?
I m a software engineer graduated from FAST. Got a 100k before graduation, and making 200k now with one year of experience. I'm extremely dissatisfied, stressed out because I can't find peace in Pakistan. I am planning to leave this country as soon as I get an opportunity abroad. Every other friend of mine who works in tech wants to leave. Top talent doesn't want to stay here. I think the only solution on individual level is to leave this country and live a better life. Wasting anymore time on this country is not worth it anymore. It's a dead stuck country. Save your life, and your coming generation by giving them a good life abroad.
My London-based company is currently hiring graduate engineers from Pakistan. We've encountered some initial observations: - Candidates' written and verbal communication skills require further refinement. - Some candidates responded late to interview email requests, while others failed to attend or provided casual excuses like 'internet issues'. - Pakistan boasts a wealth of engineering talent; however, Indian candidates have stood out due to their professionalism. Some graduates we interviewed displayed communication skills akin to much younger individuals, highlighting a need for improvement. - Many CVs from recent graduates contain excessive embellishment. We encourage honesty regarding experience level. - Attending prestigious universities such as FAST, NUST, or GIK does not guarantee an easy path. Our rigorous interview processes prioritize creativity and problem-solving abilities over academic pedigree.
All the points are spot on. However, I don't know how much you have experience with indian IT folks. They are good on CV, papers, and LinkedIn profile. The majority of them below average IQ have almost no skills despite having experience in the same fields. I have worked with Wipro, TCS, Cognizant, and Infosys cybersecurity guys, and I always wondered how on earth they have got that job title.
IT Jobs are shrinking fast here in India. What is going to be the future jobs is a big question and one should be ready with deep knowledge and skills on emerging technologies like AI and data science cloud
Excellent analysis of the problem and very good articulation of the solution. One correction though, lion's share of India's earning in IT was, is and will be from Services and not from ITES/BPO sector.

The thing you mentioned at 10:00 is true, I have 2 friends who run their own software houses, they had to do this because the banks were not clearing their money (because the banks thought it is black money) for multiple months. therefore they had to open new companies in UAE and now they are transferring minimal office cost to their local bank accounts. all the savings are in DUBAI BANK ACCOUNTS. ALL THANKS TO LOCAL BANKS ECONOMY IN PAKISTAN.
Great points! As a product designer with experience working in various companies and with multiple clients, I can confidently say that we indeed lack problem-solving skills. In my field, it’s all about solving problems, so I can completely understand the challenges and the importance of addressing issues in the tech sector. Remember, there’s no age limit for learning. JP Morgan itself has more than 70,000 employees in India from the MD, ED to the Associate level. These highly skilled pros come at a cost. Therefore, 3000 is a wrong figure to build a business case. IT industry just doesn't involved Engineers. It involves pros from various fields.

Everyone knows what is the pakistan's issue.....But nothing can be done.
in India, from last 10 years there are foundations like SIDBI, MSME, SKILL INDIA , IITs, IIMs, etc are skilling India's youth....and these organisations receive heavy funding from private companies as Philanthropy, CSR etc... India is extra-ordinary....we suffered for decades due to bad governance but since last 10 years, things are changing.....we still have few problems like reservation system which limits the real talent to be replaced by less talented due to quota systems...hopefully govt. will find a solution to that too

Yup another reason🙄
It may never come to that actually, but most of the freelancers who want to keep their tax declaration clean are paying that 0.25/1% tax and are part of the formal economy as per current rules.
still not paying 120000 on 500000 salary
Bro your video's length is perfectly fine don't worry about it. don't cut them off.

Hi Muzzamil,
I rarely comment on UA-cam videos, but I must say you are doing a commendable job educating Pakistan.
Cheers!

I don't mind if you make even 2hr+ videos like this. I have watched some of your videos twice. Such a quality content.
The whole notion of Pak as an Islamic state was ill conceived, it keeps everyone looking at the past and no one except for a few brave individuals is looking to the future.
wow - brutal but true
Introspection or the ability to introspect is step 1. As long as there's folks like you who can call it like it is, maybe there's hope. Respect from India!
As a Principal Software Engineer, I believe the primary issue stems from our education system, particularly the Punjab textbook courses, which are highly detrimental to career development. We also face challenges in communication skills for the international market, and problem-solving skills are developed during schooling. Therefore, I think the root cause is the quality of our schooling.
Pakistan already have 20 billion dollars IT industrie.

I think the main problem with CS students in Pakistani universities is the mentality and knowledge. i must say most them are Soo dumb that they don't even what they are gonna do after graduation as there is no culture of working together on something or believing in some ones vision instead we see people getting jealous or planning cheap tactics to take a talented person down
wow, i am using UE5 and blender for CGI. I am sure you are now in elite programer class.
I am trying to learn opengl too. Just for fun. Certainly I am dumb because I am unable to make fly through camera. Still confused about matrices. I sure will be able to do it.

My London-based company is currently hiring graduate engineers from Pakistan. We've encountered some initial observations:
- Candidates' written and verbal communication skills require further refinement.
Are they still hiring?
All the points are spot on. However, I don't know how much you have experience with indian IT folks. They are good on CV, papers, and LinkedIn profile. The majority of them below average IQ have almost no skills despite having experience in the same fields.
