Thank you for your kind comments. I will and I have loads to upload, just been really busy that this fun stuff has had to take a back burner. Internals will cover the loft space, internal elements and services. Watch this space!

Hi. These videos are absolutely brilliant and have learnt so much from your video's, but quick question how do you know/what website would you use to find out what foundation a house is built on?. Kind regards.

Hi and thank you for your comment, essentially you can’t. If it’s a reasonably modern house you could check with the local council building control.

Spot on about the pointing. Our 200yr old cottage has pointing which is dusty to touch, it is also quite recessed as it was shoved in by hand in clumps! Some surveyors would deemed it bad and state it needs re-pointing. In fact this lets the cottage breath and for moisture to escape, there is zero damp. The stone is also layed with a slight downward angle so water can run out of them. Our shed is also stone. It has zero pointing and is dry as a bone inside! Cement pointing like in the video is so bad, rake it out and get lime in there, you can DIY it, not hard just time consuming

I would like to know how an Estate Surveyor from nigeria could have a carier as a Building Surveyor in the UK if he is relocating to the UK on a dependant working visa. Tx

Hi, to work as an MRICS qualified building surveyor, you’d need an RICS accredited degree.
