It was at 17:47. I am perplexed. Why can't we just substitute sinx with u, find the antiderivative of that, and end up with 1/3 sinx^3? Why do we have to go through the hassle of using the power-reducing formula and converting it into terms of cos? I always thought we could put it into terms of whichever was the easiest, which in this case is sin. This really doesn't make sense to me.

    Integrate (sin^5 X cos^3 X dx) at 15:00 what about if you split sin^5 X to give you ( sinX sin^4 X ) instead of cos^3 X and make ( u= cos X).
Here what I figured out is that whichever you make (u to b equal to) is the one to be on the final answer after integrating. I got (-1/4 cos^4 X + 1/3 cos^6 X - 1/8 cos^8 X + c) as my answer.

For cos raised to some power m multiplied with sin raised to some n, you can also simply use Wallis formula, it will save a lot of time, you will come across this formula in first year maths, or in 11/12th grade if you’re a jee student.

At 15:16 why couldn't you subtract u^5-u^7 and find the antiderivative of that? I think it wouldn't give you the same answer but I'm not sure.

I think that when the same variable has different exponents, you need to treat these two as different variables. We learn that the exponent makes a difference in the variable since when we learn about polynomials, I think maybe it might arise from something similar. However, I recommend you search further into this topic, I'm not even in highschool yet

At 16:22 how do you know when to make sin^2(x) equal 1/2(1-cos^(2x)) or when to leave at as (1-cos^2(x))? I'm really curious to know. Thank you in advance for your help.

Because we do not know the integral of sin²x, we only know the integral of the following trigonometric functions:
      ∫ sinx dx = -cosx + c
      ∫ cosx dx = sin + c
      ∫ secx dx = ln|secx + tanx|
      ∫ cscx dx = -ln|cscx + cotx|
      ∫ tanx dx = -ln|cosx| + c
      ∫ cotx dx = ln|sinx| + c
In addition to 4 other integrations ,Therefore, any conjunction other than them, we need to convert to one of them. How? Through the Trig Identities you have to save them
