Chiming in here again to say that I really like the format of your playthrough. It's very enjoyable with the sound effects and the camera/edit work is wonderful.
Thanks so much Dean, means a lot! I probably put in double editing time with this playthrough, but felt like it was worth it due to the game being more of a story than other games. Glad that you appreciate it, makes it worth it!!
I'm impressed by how much this really feels like an 1980s or 1990s adventure game.
Going after the submarine definitely makes sense.

The balance card to the sub says on the bottom, every involved character moves to the next tile
The graveyard pray action says to resolve 666 before applying the effects of the pray

Yeah that has been the thing. But there are other curses too. And houserules are awesome hahaha!

That is correct. The expansion adds more tiles, enemies, expanded scenarios, new characters, and cards/items.
I cringed a little when you decided not to try and fix the spider bite :)

When a Card is drawn to determine success, are you sure you get the 'Item' side of the Card as well? I was under th eimpression drawing Cards for success is only used the left column.

Hi Colin, I would like to watch this entire play through's and join in but am about to start my first adventure so I don't want any spoilers. Just watched some of this just to get an idea of how it works. Shame as would have really liked to have joined in and you do such fab play through's.
Hope that spider bite doesn't come to effect you later on, just thought, hmmm that sounds too good to be true just banish the card there must be some reason.

@@OneStopCoopShop thank you! What are your thoughts playing 2 characters controlled by a couple each (two characters controlled by 2 players each character)? Because this have works better with 2 players on the board.
When one takes an action with a staircase next to it, does another player have to move their figure to the same area as the active player, or can they help from far away, participating in the action but doing something else?

Thank you Jan! I was thinking that, my only issue was I was still having to draw action cards to build the items, that is why I didn't. I may need to re-think that though as I am sure I will need them soon. Thanks for the advice!!
This is the first video I've seen of this game, so I'm sorry if you've already explained this before. Is this game just a once-and-done game? Since it doesn't look like the game would have much in terms of replayability, re-exploring an island you've already seen before.
Really good question! Technically no it is not, as there are multiple curses that will bring you different things on the island, BUT everytime you play, you are showing yourself more of the secrets of the island. This means that there are spoilers in where to go for which curse etc. Does that make sense?
Having the 'new area' exploration cards, and activity 'result' cards being random can really change what your expedition can do, or which paths are doable. I'd say the replay value isn't too bad.

Looks like a cool game but is going for way too much on eBay and Amazon currently to warrant a purchase. Maybe in the future if they do another production run.
It is SUPER expensive and they say this is it. . .so it might be hard to find!
It costs 59$ for the classic edition on seriouspoulp website (3 curses, cardboard characters instead of plastic miniatures and no cardboard discard pile stand)
The card you revealed when you prayed said to shuffle the cards back in after resolving the 666 card and since the 666 card had a mandatory action it seems like you shuffled the discarded cards back in prematurely but I don't have the game so I could be wrong.
Ahh yeah you are right! I missed that. I will make a note, shouldn't have made too much of a difference I think. Thanks for pointing that out!
I'll be interested to see how you feel about the game if you end up playing all seven curses (not necessarily as videos) since a lot of the people I have talked to about this game had the same initial reaction as you but found the game somewhat stale by the 4th or 5th curse.
Even though there is still the randomness of how the cards come out it's still the same cards you've been using since the beginning and it seems like much of the depth of the game comes from the experience of reading new cards rather than the game play mechanisms.
Now this is a very good point! I am not sure, I do want to see what the replayability of this game is. And this playthrough will not show that. I will make sure to let you know what I think after a few plays! Thanks for watching Trent!
