This game is so much fun and the variability is really crazy. I don't think anyone born before 1990 can see that spider chariot not immediately think Wild Wild West.
Great play through! @20:02 - From the rulebook, page 20: "when you use Occult Knowledge in any way to perform an Experiment, you must move one space forward on the Insanity Track for each Occult Knowledge you used. Occult Knowledge only causes Insanity when used in an Experiment. You do not gain Insanity when collecting Occult Knowledge or recording Occult Knowledge.
Couple rules things - (1)the occult knowledge increases crazy levels a)only when used for experiments (not recording knowledge) and b) whether it’s used as a wild or not (you said only if it was used as a wild). (2) when you went to the Estate Affairs it looked like you got a card AND a dollar. It should be one or the other.
@@linarc6697 I am not seeing this in the rules. Spouse is basically a servant per the rulebook. The rulebook states: You may also place your Servants on your Estate Locations. However, this may result in the Servant(s) being overcome with terror and sent to Lost at the end of the round. The Estate Affairs space does not have any icons that I can see so they would not be lost at the end of the round. I do not own the game and have only read the rulebook, so if you can direct me to where this is mentioned in the rulebook I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!!
Great play through. I haven’t started this game yet but am really looking forward to it. I find the iOS version of the app a bit buggy. Don’t know which you are using here. There is narration for most of the parts you were reading out. I have to close down the App when I get to one of those narrated screens then restart it and click ‘Continue’. When it reopens, the narration will start. Hopefully an update will resolve that one.
Thanks! I don’t get much narration, only on the three passages that appear to auto scroll on screen at the start. Either way, weren’t fans of the available voices
Hi Tom, in the end of generation step you can hold on to two extra resources (because of the level 2 biology knowlegde stored). But you hold on to knowledge and knowledge is not considered a recource. Only body's, animals, gears and chemicals. (stated as wel on the back of the player aid card).
Just in case someone comes across this later as I did, and worries that you can't save knowledge cubes: Page 13: "Resource Gathering Locations: There are two main types of resources in My Father’s Work: Ingredients and Knowledge" You -can- bank knowledge cubes with the second level green journal.
Not enough turns to fully use most of these mechanics Creepy/Insanity/Workers/Using Resources, etc. Big bummer for my gaming group, I did not like it. Kept feeling like we missed something in the rules about our workers because there wasn't enough turns to do anything and always had too much or too little of something/Resources. This playthrough pretty much proved that feeling; not saying we didn't make mistakes or even played it efficiently but good lord just not very well balanced imo.
🤣 OMG the Wild Wild West comment almost put me on the floor laugh. Great one Tom!

Thanks Ben! I have added a note to the Klingon subtitles. Appreciate the help!! :)

Hi Pete! I have added a note in the Klingon subtitles for the first item. The second item already had a note at 23:39. Thanks for the help!
At 23.40 the spouse action is and “or”.
So either pick three cards choose one OR get 1 coin.
Hi Michael! This was already in the Klingon subtitles at 23:39. Thanks!
@@theercs i think spouse cannot do estate affair, only go to town unless you have the master bedroom upgrade.

40:09 At the end of the round you should have put the servants that are on Record Knowledge back to Lost, not in your quarters.
Did you bet against yourself??? What a legend
I don’t remember what happened but it sounds about right 😀
@@slickerdrips there is a moment both players bet against each other to see who become mayor, but you ARE both players!! Still, bets were made.😂😎

They should have hired you to voice the app 👍

Why did I think you were South African for a second.
Thanks Tom. I don't think this game is for me 😉
Thanks for watching! I’m glad I helped you find out though 🙂
