One of the things I love about this song is how it's structured. First there's a drop down in key, then the tempo slows. It feels almost as if the music is falling into a pit.
Yeah, something about getting on that stage just changes her for the time being. I saw Jinjer on November 20th in Connecticut here in the states and she said she was having an anxiety attack that day, but being able to perform for the very appreciative crowd that was there made her feel a lot better. She thanked us, which is insane. We needed to thank her and the rest of the band, but I guess we were thanking them by having an awesome time. Really looking forward to seeing them live again in the future.
Dude I was there too!! She was SO GOOD. I was right up front and at one point got a good scream in when it was quiet and I made her smile. Fucking AMAZING show. Got myself two picks and almost had Vlads drumstick. 😩😭
You often hear about a band, that has a really good singer or guitarist etc. But in the case of Jinjer, everyone in the band is just on another level. I'm just greatful that they doesn't have the massive ego, that often follows. They're allways giving each other space to shine. 🙌
Thank you for checking this one out Prymal !!! Great reaction!!! This is one one my many favorites and I guess for me each member is so highly skilled from where they came from and started learning to play this type of music that I am just so captured by everything Jinjer does and it is so different from everything else out there! I used to play drums but nothing like Vlad... to have your arms, hands and each leg to be able to play something different is totally unique for me and all of the off beats are just amazing to me. Vlad can not only play drums & piano, but he can also play guitar as well !!! You are doing great and on behalf of Jinjer Army we thank you!
Great reaction!! Just saw them December 12th in AZ for the forth time and finally at a great venue!!! The last show of their tour was awesome and we sang Happy Birthday the Vlad after. What an amazing down to earth hard working group of people. Love this band!!!!!
You've GOT to do their song 'On the Top" live in Kiev, same show. Such a good song, especially live. Going you also make it to their song "Home Back". You've said on other videos that you like the jazziness they insert into their music, you'll really like that song!
As a drummer/percussionist for the last 15 years it really depends. I grew up taking lesions from a predominantly jazz drummer and concert timpani player as well as playing in percussion ensambles so it’s not as foreign to me as it may be for other people. It does stand out as him being extremely talented. His technique, rhythm and groove while accenting places in the the song that need it while letting it breathe at times is super jazz influenced and super cool in metal. His use of ghost notes in this and other songs it really cool too the way it sort of shuffles in a way keeps you on your toes. He’s awesome and one of my favorite drummers at the moment.
Jinjer has phenomenal play throughs of guitar, bass, and drums. I have never seen anybody react to them, but they are awesome to watch. Even if it's just in your own time.
Another epic performance is "Captain Clock" live at Resurrection Fest. The guitars sound a little muddy but the vocals and drums sound excellent. It showcases Tatiana's strength as a front woman. "Who is Gonna be the One" (Live, Napalm Records) is another outstanding performance.
Another great reaction Prymal. Pit of Consciousness is my favorite Jinjer song to date. After being a huge fan of Jinjer for almost two years now, and listening to every song they have done, Pit of Consciousness is still my favorite, and this performance was epic. When I saw them in late October, most people were recording the whole concert, me, I knew exactly when they were going to play Pit of Consciousness, it was the third song on their set list, so after they finished On the Top (great song by the way, the live version is from this same concert) I got my phone ready, and recorded Pit of Consciousness, it was the only song I recorded. I have it saved on my phone, it's a great memory for me on that amazing night, and yes, it sounded just like this, absolutely amazing. Keep up the great reactions my friend, and as always, stay Metal. 😊🤘🤘🤘🤘🎶🎶🎶🎶
The laptop is running Pro Tools, which has their backing tracks and effects, click tracks with individual mixes for the in-ear monitors, and probably has midi of some sort for the light show. Songs with layered instruments like Sit Stay Roll Over, Just Another, and Words of Wisdom with two guitar parts or Teacher Teacher! with two bass parts as well as some of the vocal harmonies are piped through the PA from the lappy. Early in their US tour, Vlad had a positive 'Rona test, and they had to do a few shows without him, so the lappy played those parts live. The Pro Tools mixes with the clicks are the exact same as the albums. Odd placed pauses where vocal fades would be remain, it's really apparent in Captain Clock in the drop when you play them back to back.
Wow! How do you get access to this kind of info! Haha did you work on the show? Or are you just the batman of the internet?! Either way very cool insight, thank you!
@@PrymalChaos I'm a guitarist, so I'm into those nerdy sorts of things. A lappy running Pro Tools is kind of a standard thing for a lot of live bands these days. UA-camr Ryan Bruce (Fluff) has kind of the same setup with his band, so he explained once how the lappy runs everything. Every Jinjer live show, you see the lappy open running Pro Tools next to Vlad, so I'm assuming it's doing the same thing. One thing I forgot to add is everyone can hear live feeds of their instruments / singing through the in-ears as well. Roman explained his crazy setup once for Gear Gods, which uses a sort of dual or triple 4-cable method which has a mix of signals going from his guitar, to his helix, to his amp, to the front of house with added impulse responses, and to his in-ears. I'm just a fan of the band like everyone else and have listened a lot of interviews and keep up with them on social media. If you ever get the chance, catch them live.
This is my favorite Jinjer reaction video you have reacted to so far. This song is my top 5 Jinjer tracks. For an intimate Jinjer interview I was able to recently record click on my yt picture and see the interview there!
Jinjer reliably put in show-stopping sets every couple weeks. They are always good, but they are so extraordinary so often. They never seem to quit or slow down re: their music and fundamentals supporting it.
Cloud Factory Official LIVE....make sure it is the live, so much better. Home Back. Retrospection. No Hoard of Value. And for some Old Skool Jinjer...Scissors. Keep it going man. Love your reactions.
Great reaction! This might be my favorite Jinjer song. But then they don't have a bad one. What makes them so cool is nobody in the band plays with ego. Everything is done in service to the song. And the groove! Metal has been my music since 1971 and they have revitalized it for me. You might enjoy some of their earlier stuff when they were a 5 piece, such as "Cloud Factory"' "Outlander", or "Sit, Stay, Rollover" to see where they started.
Captain Chaos! You are a ranking officer in the Jinjer army! Own your credentials! Hahaha jk of course but you’re wonderful. So happy I found your channel. I really enjoy your reactions. Keep it up and don’t bother w the haters.
My feeling is that Vlad is a *musician* ,who happens to be playing drums in a pretty extreme band at the mo.... & even his silences behind that kit are convincing *musical* choices. When he goes sparse in a song (where other more conventionally-informed drummers would not), it's generally to draw attention to a particular melody or vocal they want you paying attention to, or as driver of the overall shape of a given song. Honestly, having someone with Vlad's depth of musicality, & drawing not just from metal but from all over place, has put Jinjer up into the heights of truly interesting composition in modern music imho. ....but then, I'm biased- they're my favourite current band! LOL :)
12:37 song Outlander is pretty much about how she feels like she's not from Earth :( Also the "28 year long expedition" in "I Speak Astronomy" (written when Tatiana was 28) may kinda be interpreted as an expedition to Earth.
People may fight you for the title of “World’s Biggest Jinjer Fan”, but great reaction and insight as is the norm for your Jinjer reactions thus far. As far as this song being bone shaking during a live performance, I saw them in Nov2021 and all i can reply with is…YES! On the Top live in Kiev (same show as this video) is also a banger worth giving a listen to. More Jinjer please and thank you. 🤘🍻
Home Back official music video is a must - read those lyrics and get inside Tatianas head as to how life growing up in a war-torn region is for the people. Also, Who is going to be The One - live video is essential...
Also - yeah, Vlad it seems does everything he can to stay away from the "bread and butter" 4/4 timing. His sense of rhythm is different and it plays to the different "uneasy" sound that this band has mastered - it is what gives them a "sound" - you know it when you hear it - I equate it to Rush - you know them when you hear them.
In an interview, Vlad said that due to time constraints some songs aren't fine tuned for the album but during concerts there can be slight changes that they've made along the way.
I was lucky enough to see them in Chicago when they came by I hadn't really heard of them before but damn if I'm not a superfan now. Her energy is insane the entire band is incredible live. Can't wait to see them live every time they come around now.
I have noticed them layering both for their signature harmonies, but also very specific intensity progression. Going from a single layer of clean vocals into growls is one dimension in terms of intensity ... as contrast. They seem to balance the intensity in all instruments and vocals in more than that one (Pisces - shock value) dimension. That's how I hear it. Very deliberately composed and arranged.
I’m no musician, but I so appreciate what you were talking about with picking out those subtle layers of each instrument. Great reaction, I’m digging your channel!
I used to hate that Jinjer used a "backing track" live for harmony vocals, and a guitar track from older songs when they were a 5 piece band. I always felt it wasn't necessary and didn't represent a true live sound. This last 2021 USA tour they dialed it back some, and it sounded great! They only played one older song so there wasn't backing guitar tracks for any other songs. While the harmony vocals were there, they were definitely dialed back in the mix, at least at the show I was at. Tati sounded great and the whole band just blew me away! An experience I will never forget! You've only done songs from the last couple albums after Vlad joined. Eventually you'll have to dive into something from earlier. You'll definitely see how different they were and how much they have grown since then.
3:48 - I'd say that the right word would be "effortless". That's how Tatiana's screams come across and it's not only to me, many people have said the same. 🙂 Vlad is a master at using intervals and spacing as part of the music without breaking the groove, Roman is a master at not playing what you'd expect from a Metal guitarist (although he's much, much better than he shows) and Eugene is a master at playing bass but also at filling up the space of a second guitarist. Add to that what you already know that Tatiana can do vocally and lyrically and there's no doubt that no matter what direction they take their sound in the future, they'll always be an amazing band. Greetings from a portuguese fellow multi-instrument musician who plays in an Industrial Metal band. 😀
Great analysis. First time I saw them live I was standing next to a stack of speakers and her low growls literally shook my bones. I love how the graphics on the screens echo the visuals in the OMV. I wonder if the clean harmonies were added in post. There is quite a good bootleg uploaded by George M in 2019 but my ears aren'tgood enough to pick out stufflike that. I'll add a link in a reply cuz YT tends to send my link to spam haha.
They will often tidy things up in post for live video releases so anything's possible. It does seem like it was live production in this case though. At least to my ears.
Tatiana is unique to my ears.. I'm not really into screams / growls.. She just has a tone and a character to her voice that takes it too another level.. Jinjer are an incredible band.. My best music discovery in absolutely years!!
The way you analyze and react to these Jinjer songs is what makes me continuously search for Jinjer reactions! There are plenty of people who do a nice job reacting to this band, but not everyone understands and appreciates music at a higher level like you do. And it's even better that you really like what you're hearing. Jinjer is not everyone's cup of tea, even if some are able to appreciate their talent. They're a special band. So many fans such as myself that are "older" (50-60+) have been grabbed by this band, not only for the ridiculous talent that is Tatiana, but by musicianship of Roman (gtr), Eugene (bass) & Vlad (drummer that doesn't play like a drummer!). It's been many years since a band has moved me like this, and what you're doing here adds so much to the whole cool experience. I know it's pretty time-consuming to do these videos, but just know they're truly appreciated by many!
@@PrymalChaos Hopefully you will look forward to new Jinjer songs the way we look forward to new reactions. Don't let this become a burden, take your time navigating this rich rabbit hole. We will all be here, mutually knowing it will be worth the wait!
Very nice reaction! 😁👍 Somebody recommended "Teacher, Teacher" and that`s really nice, but, yet, not the live version from Melborne. That one is fantastic, don`t get me wrong but in that version there is a beautiful breakdown which leaves you suspended in thin air. It would be a shame to miss that feeling! You get it in the studio version, though, which is kind of a live experience as well. "I speak Astronomy" is of course another great choice! And of course there is the second great recording from Kiev: "On the Top". Musically it is almost like the studio version which has a great video, too. Well, there you may make your choise yourself (which you`ll do anyway, yeah, yeah...) For something very early on, "Exposed as a Liar" is one of the first of their songs and even there you already have all these little surprises! 😊🤘
I love both versions, but I feel like someone who listens to the live one first misses out a little on that particular song. There are so many subtleties and additional layers they add in the studio that aren't there in the live version. I think both versions are essential, but the studio one is a better first impression.
Great reaction! Regarding the vocal backing track: I don't know the choices they made obviously, but I would be very suprised if they would make choices to satisfy "trolls" or whatever. That's not their style. So I would assume it's purely artistic choices there. There is something about this concert in general. It was supposed to be released as a live album/video but they disliked the lighting I think, so that never happened. But the energy, how they sound. Tatiana is not a machine, there will be differences in how she sounds on a particular day, but this must have been an exceptionally good show for sure. Her growls here give me chills every time.
Dude. It's so good. The whole this is superb. That thing about the backings only popped into my head because I've seen so many 'fans' get personally offended when someone suggests that a growl (live or otherwise) has any kind of studio manipulation on it. It's like if they embellish the sound for effect it means that the singer can't cut it or something. It's a bit silly. You're right I would never suspect that Jinjer would give a shit. I was just processing out loud. 😂😆
@@PrymalChaos The vibe I got from the bootlegs of this show was "returning home in triumph." It was maybe a couple of weeks after returning home from their first headlining tour of the U.S. and Canada that had been 42 mostly sold out shows in 60 days, and kicking of by far their largest headlining European tour which was also mostly sold out, with substantially upgraded stage production gear in the form of those 3 screens (there's a smaller version for smaller venues - and they recently got another set of the smaller ones for North American shows), and after being single and lonely for years Tati had just started dating her now husband Alex Lopez of Suicide Silence. So, yeah, great energy. :D
Another great review. Keep em coming! One reason for Jinjer's great live sound is Aleksandr Antoshin. He's been their sound engineer for years, travels on the tour bus with them and is considered an integral member of the band with equal rights. Totally agree with your comments about keeping the growls free from effects. I think most people don't have issues with a band adding depth using backing track work as long as its set back in the mix to just add some extra atmosphere. Jinjer are one of those bands who, in my opinion actually sound better live than recorded. Whilst their album productions don't tend to be overproduced, they still lose some of that important dynamic energy that only a live gig can generate. As you're a keen guitarist and were picking up on Roman's licks you may want to check out some of his playthrough vids in your own time. Love his Zen like approach as he channels all that focus and energy into his fingers! Here's his 'Pit of Consciousness' playthrough: ua-cam.com/video/xrNW6qKSeBo/v-deo.html
I'm not sure, but I believe the mixing was done by Max Morton (since he did mixing for other Jinjer live shows and he's based in Kiev himself lol) with whom they've also worked on the albums.
@@ZachComa indeed, I forgot he did the Alive in Melbourne, though the Hellfest 2021 credited Max, couldn't find the mixing credits for the Kiev show :( Anyway, most likely it's Morton studio :)
No bands I Listen to (besides Jinjer of cause) has a style that's near him, very unique in my opinion. Just love it, Vlad is by far my favorite Jinjer Drummer. (last time I was fascinated by a Drummer, was Dave Lombardo Slayer, when I heard them in the 90's) I mostly listen to the Vlad era Jinjer😂🤘
I'm gonna give you one that No One else will. It is a short one, so it won't take much time. "Beggars Dance". I guarantee you will go back and make sure it is a Jinjer song you are listening to. No official video, just audio. Trust Me!!!!!!
maybe you can do from the same concert "On The Top (Live in Kiev)", another great song, also live!!!!!!!!!!! and one more time > many thanx for your competent reactions................
..another cool reaction...love the percussionist comment...nailed that...and if not mistaken tatiana is using some sort of harmonizer...sounds to me like the harmonies are her voice....keep em coming cuzz...thanks...peace...
Check out some early Jinjer. Best Ukrainian Metal Act 2014 🔥 Outlander (failure .color) m.ua-cam.com/video/XtOYjCkHJak/v-deo.html This specific performance is still one of their best. Here they are a 5 piece band with an additional guitarist and a different drummer. Tatiana also has dreadlocks.
I’m not sure if they got criticized for it, but I just saw them in Boston and there was far less backing tracks. I actually preferred it, less saturated and her voice is amazing!
Cool! Sometimes backings are necessary. Eg Nightwish can't always play with an orchestra, but in Jinjer's case it's not all that necessary. Some backing harmonies now and then. That's it really.
Most people start with Jinjer Pisces. love it but my favorite is teacher teacher as it's so well written and Tatiana and the band flow so well together. A fun one is Judgement and punishment Tatiana one take vocal performance as it shows more of her personality and other musical influences. Totally worth it
For this type of growling, while it's not yelling and it looks almost effortless when Tatiana does it she's just very good at it - it requires a lot of correct and rather intense breathing, it's very easy to get dizzy doing this and stuff and requires strength keeping constant correct pressure. I guess when they say that one shouldn't do it with a lot of effort they mean throat and vocal cords. As Tatiana said in one of the interviews, coming from an industrial region with terrible ecology (chemical plants, coal mines, enormous waste heaps instead of mountains) she had some serious lung problems in the past, so it's both kinda impressive how she mastered this technique but also makes sense because its breathing part is rather healthy exercise for lungs. But there's another type of extreme vocals, more "black metal" like - that one is VEERY easy to do and breathing hard there will only make it worse, you literally just chill while "holding" the throat correctly but it sounds like you're screaming very emotionally lol, very lazy stuff.
Once you've reacted to Mediator, you should follow up by checking out a live drum cam version of the song from a show they did in Austria. It is just so awesome to watch Vlad at work.
You probably have been told this already but Jinjer used to be a 5 piece. I think Eugene takes on some of a lead guitar quality a lot in these songs since they became a 4 piece. I love the usage of bass in their songs since its way more prominent than most bands.
Infected Rain is another female fronted band. They supported Jinjer very early on and toured with them. Tatiana and their vocalist Lena became good friends. IR just released a new video for their song The Realm of Chaos a few weeks ago. EDIT: You mention the layering and backtracking on her vocals. They've always done this. Keep in mind, they come from a part of the world where there is no corporate support at all - no label support, no sponsorship, nothing. Plus, in Ukraine, pop music is seen culturally as something only the young and irresponsible listen to and perform. There is no underground music scene in Ukraine. So when they decided to try to take their act on the road outside Ukraine the only thing they had in the way of promotion was their live performance. This was how they were going to have to build their audience, through their live sound. This is why you can find tons and tons of live bootlegs of them on UA-cam. They were from the first day one of those rare bands who could do live everything they did on the record, and even better live than in studio. Korn was like this in the beginning. People were blown away by the energy of their live performances.
Yeah! I should mention that pointing out backings is in no way an attempt to diminish the skill of the band. They are pretty much universally used in professional live production. I'm sure Jinjer would sound incredible in a high-school gym with borrowed gear!
Great reactions and breakdowns Prymal as far as the live mix I have heard the person who does the mixing (forgot his name) jinjer considers him the 5th member of jinjer...
Just to add to your already growing list....lol, heres a few more with a little meaning behind them. "Sit Stay Rollover"- was the song that caught the attention of Napalm and ultimately got them signed. "Home Back"- very personal song about the war torn life they grew up living in Ukraine "Retrospection"- a homage to their parents who sacrificed so much for them "Ape"- Just the fact that it slaps, and it's also the bass player Eugene's favorite song to play. Congrats on the huge growth btw, well deserved.
Great reactions brother. I agree, this band bridges so many gaps for me musically. It's like I get everything I want from each track. They're soooo good. 🤘😎 check out Divisionary by Erra. Another great proggy band that just checks all the boxes for me. Cheers brother
11:40 I don’t get why you think the drums are that much weird. Tell me how would you have played that part? It’s actually pretty basic and fits perfectly fine with both guitar and bass.
Thanks for your reaction on this epic one. I really like the way how you analyze the music. Another great live performance is "Who is going to be the one" (ua-cam.com/video/U6rv5qi8-8s/v-deo.html)
I just don't think you can go wrong with Jinjer, is there even a bad Jinjer song? You may just hit 1k in a month, it seemed like a stretch when I first said it but with about 3 days left, you might just make it. Congrats and enjoy the ride.
I feel like I may hit 1k tomorrow! And it's absolutely insane... I had originally hoped that I'd start to see a little traction on a video or two by about now. But honestly I can't even believe it. The feedback has been alarmingly encouraging and positive.. truly it's a testament to how much love there is for this amazing music the world over. Thanks mate!
You wanted to know if Vlad's drumming sounds a bit odd to someone who plays drums and the answer, at least in my case, is yes. It might have to do with the fact that he really doesn't like to hit the snare on the one in a bar, and on top of that the time signatures in their songs are quite often not that straight forward, so if you put those things together it's quite natural that it sounds a bit odd. At least he catches me off guard quite a few times, before I have listened to their songs enough times to keep up with what he's doing. Love that, of course, Vlad is an amazing drummer. Another thing is that you can see a huge difference between how Vlad plays songs that were created when he was not the drummer. Even if he's changed the drum part of them to suit his play style, there is for sure a very noticeable difference. I wouldn't call any of Jinjer's songs straight forward, but compared to the songs where he's been in the band when the song was created, their earlier stuff is at least a bit more straight forward.
i've already commented here and there but in case you didn't noticed my very italian name and surname, well, you can add italy to your list of "reached" countries :D As a huge fan of Jinjer i would like to say that if you don't want to do 20 reactions of jinjer songs is totally fine and understandable BUT...i would like to suggest one more you should check since you've mentioned you like to have variety on your channel: you've checked 3 music videos (vortex, mediator and wallflower) and 2 live videos (perennial and pit of consciousness), you know what is missing here? a one take vocal performance! search for "jinjer judgment and punishment one take" and you will find one. Of course there's more amazing jinjer songs for you to discover (teacher teacher, i speak astronomy and the live performance of who is gonna be the one, for example) but again, if you don't want to do too much jinjer songs it's obviously fine, do whatever you feel like could be interesting for you and not what could bring you more views (since doing jinjer is basically a free "i'll do a lot of views" card). I would suggest things i didn't usually saw on other reactions channels, but i don't know what you already listened "privately": Bad Omens (a band which i like to referr to as "linkin park + bring me the horizon but better than both"): - "careful what you what you win for" (very linkin park like) - "the worst in me" (very bring me the horizon like) - "kingdom of cards" (very...epic metal like, in a way) "Contraband" (there's Courtney from Spiritbox here, you can't go wrong with this) by Make Them Suffer "Eternally Apart" by Phinehas (not my favorite metal band of all time but definetely good, and i should say that i'm suggesting them since they are definetely "unique" in their own style) "Doomsday" by Architects (you already know them, you already know it's gonna be good)
Concerning Vlads drumming (note that i`m a hobby drummer far from being a pro): - He´s playing open-handed (hands parallel) instead of cross-handed. There are others doing that, but overall you see more cross-handed playing drummers. - His setup is very flat, some of the cymbals even being tilted away from him, he also has his rack-tom to his right instead of the more "mainstream" placement over the bassdrum to help with the flatness. The open-handed playing and the "unusual" setup enable him to often fit syncopated tom-hits between his double-bass parts that for example i couldn`t do with my setup, cross-handed playing and - lets be real - because of the difference in skill + practice. If you`re interested in observing his playing more, they (Jinjer) have some one-take-performances of the individual members playing some of their songs, which are nice to watch as well. ;-)
Dude I really like your reactions. Nice mix of a funny person and some music knowledge :D Would love to see you react to Polyphia - G.O.A.T. if you haven't seen it already. Greetings from germany =)
I'll pass on this band, they are not in the same league as Nightwish with Floor for entertainment value (For me anyway). Nightwish will take a big hit with Marco gone when they go back to touring. Basically, Nightwish 2013-2019 are unbeatable.
Tati is one of the few women who can reach those lows. But she isn't the only one. For a contrasting style check out Yu from MergingMoon. She hits all those lows and hits the ear piercing highs. For a great example. Check out the song. "Greyen" ua-cam.com/video/sIL-vgHNOu0/v-deo.html Taken from their channel.
One of the things I love about this song is how it's structured. First there's a drop down in key, then the tempo slows. It feels almost as if the music is falling into a pit.
It's fascinating!
For a self professed introvert, Tati has an absolutely incredible stage presence. She's a "riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma."
Haha.
That might be the most interesting description of Tati that i've ever heard.
"Retrospection" (official video) is another great, beautiful, chaotic and intense song by Jinjer.
The stage can be a powerful experience.
Dude I was there too!! She was SO GOOD. I was right up front and at one point got a good scream in when it was quiet and I made her smile. Fucking AMAZING show. Got myself two picks and almost had Vlads drumstick. 😩😭
@@katiebee939 Awesome! I didn't make it up front, but I was close. Such an amazing time. Look forward to the next one.
You often hear about a band, that has a really good singer or guitarist etc.
But in the case of Jinjer, everyone in the band is just on another level.
I'm just greatful that they doesn't have the massive ego, that often follows. They're allways giving each other space to shine. 🙌
It's one of the many facets of their excellence!

You've GOT to do their song 'On the Top" live in Kiev, same show. Such a good song, especially live. Going you also make it to their song "Home Back". You've said on other videos that you like the jazziness they insert into their music, you'll really like that song!

I'll check it out!
@@PrymalChaos Wise man indeed.Who is gonna be the one live Napalm records pretty good too
Another great reaction Prymal. 😊🤘🤘🤘🤘🎶🎶🎶🎶
On the Top has been hugely requested. I'll get to that one too!
Thanks Raul. I'll check it out!
Jinjer reliably put in show-stopping sets every couple weeks. They are always good, but they are so extraordinary so often. They never seem to quit or slow down re: their music and fundamentals supporting it.
Great reaction! Great song! " On the top" from this show is another awesome performance! Cheers!!
Thank you!
Cloud Factory Official LIVE....make sure it is the live, so much better. Home Back. Retrospection. No Hoard of Value. And for some Old Skool Jinjer...Scissors. Keep it going man. Love your reactions.
Home back is coming soon. So many requests.
This is the one and that makes it complete for me. Thanks
Thanks for the tips! Appreciate it!
@@PrymalChaos Infected Rain.... check them out as well. BTW they played together before....Ohhh?
@@mepps333 seen them pop up. I'll take a look.
Captain Chaos! You are a ranking officer in the Jinjer army! Own your credentials! Hahaha jk of course but you’re wonderful. So happy I found your channel. I really enjoy your reactions. Keep it up and don’t bother w the haters.
I'm just happy to be a grunt at this point! You guys have taught me so much! I knew this channel was a great idea.
LOL :)
He is unusual but also exceptional.
12:37 song Outlander is pretty much about how she feels like she's not from Earth :(
Also the "28 year long expedition" in "I Speak Astronomy" (written when Tatiana was 28) may kinda be interpreted as an expedition to Earth.
Thanks! More is coming!
Thank you!
Thnx for great reaction man !! I love your focus on comenting all the details 😍🤘 This is my favorite band ☺️
Yeah I can see that.
I’m no musician, but I so appreciate what you were talking about with picking out those subtle layers of each instrument. Great reaction, I’m digging your channel!
Thank you! I try to keep it interesting for everyone while still adding some value. Otherwise what's the point?! 🤘
I'll get there. I'm just scratching the surface.
I prefer this live rather than the audio version
How does anyone NOT Love this Band???
Seeing them in December. Can't wait!
3:48 - I'd say that the right word would be "effortless". That's how Tatiana's screams come across and it's not only to me, many people have said the same. 🙂
Vlad is a master at using intervals and spacing as part of the music without breaking the groove, Roman is a master at not playing what you'd expect from a Metal guitarist (although he's much, much better than he shows) and Eugene is a master at playing bass but also at filling up the space of a second guitarist. Add to that what you already know that Tatiana can do vocally and lyrically and there's no doubt that no matter what direction they take their sound in the future, they'll always be an amazing band.
Greetings from a portuguese fellow multi-instrument musician who plays in an Industrial Metal band. 😀
Thank you for checking in!
The OMV for this song is very enjoyable indeed.
I may do that too.
I'll add a link in a reply cuz YT tends to send my link to spam haha.
ua-cam.com/video/DldQKNqGe-8/v-deo.html
They will often tidy things up in post for live video releases so anything's possible. It does seem like it was live production in this case though. At least to my ears.
Vlad is the final piece of the puzzle that made Jinjer a world class band. The right drummer can turn a good band into an amazing band.
And what a puzzle!
Tatiana is unique to my ears.. I'm not really into screams / growls.. She just has a tone and a character to her voice that takes it too another level.. Jinjer are an incredible band.. My best music discovery in absolutely years!!
13.20 yeah Roman has some very Unique riffs. prob the most invisible Jinjer member, But his sounds and riffs are such a big part of the Jinjer DNA
Jeez Robert! That's kind of you to say! More than anything it's worth it for comments like these!
@@PrymalChaos Hopefully you will look forward to new Jinjer songs the way we look forward to new reactions. Don't let this become a burden, take your time navigating this rich rabbit hole. We will all be here, mutually knowing it will be worth the wait!
Very nice reaction! 😁👍
Somebody recommended "Teacher, Teacher" and that`s really nice, but, yet, not the live version from Melborne.
Well, there you may make your choise yourself (which you`ll do anyway, yeah, yeah...)
For something very early on, "Exposed as a Liar" is one of the first of their songs and even there you already have all these little surprises! 😊🤘
I love both versions, but I feel like someone who listens to the live one first misses out a little on that particular song. There are so many subtleties and additional layers they add in the studio that aren't there in the live version. I think both versions are essential, but the studio one is a better first impression.
I disagree, please don't do the live version 1st! Can always go back and do live later! More content right? 😋
Vlad is a musician percussion is simply how he chooses to Express himself 🙂
So many band's sound great in the studio, but their real energy is in their live performances. I need to see Jinjer live.
Vlad was a pianist, then guitarist and finally a drummer before joining Jinjer. He didn't have drum lessons.
I'm not sure, but I believe the mixing was done by Max Morton (since he did mixing for other Jinjer live shows and he's based in Kiev himself lol) with whom they've also worked on the albums.
Thanks it's a nice live mix!
Kim does their live stuff...working in Max's studio.
@@ZachComa indeed, I forgot he did the Alive in Melbourne, though the Hellfest 2021 credited Max, couldn't find the mixing credits for the Kiev show :(
Anyway, most likely it's Morton studio :)
Next up shld be Teacher Teacher (live in Melbourne)
I'm gonna give you one that No One else will. It is a short one, so it won't take much time. "Beggars Dance". I guarantee you will go back and make sure it is a Jinjer song you are listening to. No official video, just audio. Trust Me!!!!!!

This specific performance is still one of their best. Here they are a 5 piece band with an additional guitarist and a different drummer. Tatiana also has dreadlocks.
I second that recommendation, that one is an epic performance as well. Also nice to see them evolving to their present live performances.
Thank you for that.
Very different, veryy Proggy. He gives a glimpses of normalcy in parts of certain songs
Most people start with Jinjer Pisces. love it but my favorite is
teacher teacher as it's so well written and Tatiana and the band flow so well together. A fun one is Judgement and punishment Tatiana one take vocal performance as it shows more of her personality and other musical influences.
Totally worth it
I will be doing Teacher Teacher soon.
Thanks for the info! Like I keep saying I'm not a vocal coach so info like this is helpful!
You know the rhythm of the song at the beginning gave me My Hero from Foo Fighters vibes
T is the Queen,
Never apologize for going down the Jinjer rabbit hole.
😆😆🤘
It sounds awesome!
Roman and Eugene and even Vlad have a lot of play through tracks without vocals on there official channel Jinjer-metal band
Just to add to your already growing list....lol, heres a few more with a little meaning behind them.
"Sit Stay Rollover"- was the song that caught the attention of Napalm and ultimately got them signed.
"Home Back"- very personal song about the war torn life they grew up living in
Ukraine
"Retrospection"- a homage to their parents who sacrificed so much for them
"Ape"- Just the fact that it slaps, and it's also the bass player Eugene's favorite song to play.
Congrats on the huge growth btw, well deserved.
Home Back comes up ALL the time. I'll have to do that one next.
I prefer 'On The Top' for the song AND the live video. The song is subjective, but the video is definitively of higher quality.
Cool. I'll check it out.
Just to throw a recommendation out there, one of my favourite bands Loathe have just released a new song, would be cool to hear your take on it!
Loathe. I'll check it out when I can!

Never know where they are going to go.
A good drum playthrough would be Under the Dome
you should listen to their song judge and punishment(live by Tatiana) and partially in russian language - retrospection.
100% Agree👍
Thank you!
When time permits, Vlad also plays for another band, Zlam.
On the top from the same show
You wanted to know if Vlad's drumming sounds a bit odd to someone who plays drums and the answer, at least in my case, is yes.
Yeah! That's what I'm talking about! Thanks for the insight!
Top of the mountain, simply Jinjer lol
i've already commented here and there but in case you didn't noticed my very italian name and surname, well, you can add italy to your list of "reached" countries :D
As a huge fan of Jinjer i would like to say that if you don't want to do 20 reactions of jinjer songs is totally fine and understandable BUT...i would like to suggest one more you should check since you've mentioned you like to have variety on your channel: you've checked 3 music videos (vortex, mediator and wallflower) and 2 live videos (perennial and pit of consciousness), you know what is missing here? a one take vocal performance! search for "jinjer judgment and punishment one take" and you will find one.
I would suggest things i didn't usually saw on other reactions channels, but i don't know what you already listened "privately":
Bad Omens (a band which i like to referr to as "linkin park + bring me the horizon but better than both"):
- "careful what you what you win for" (very linkin park like)
- "the worst in me" (very bring me the horizon like)
- "kingdom of cards" (very...epic metal like, in a way)
"Contraband" (there's Courtney from Spiritbox here, you can't go wrong with this) by Make Them Suffer
"Eternally Apart" by Phinehas (not my favorite metal band of all time but definetely good, and i should say that i'm suggesting them since they are definetely "unique" in their own style)
"Doomsday" by Architects (you already know them, you already know it's gonna be good)
PrymalChaos welcomes the delegate from Italy! 🤘🤘

Oh perfect. I added it to watch later.
Concerning Vlads drumming (note that i`m a hobby drummer far from being a pro):
- He´s playing open-handed (hands parallel) instead of cross-handed.
If you`re interested in observing his playing more, they (Jinjer) have some one-take-performances of the individual members playing some of their songs, which are nice to watch as well. ;-)
Thanks! That insight is really useful. It all makes sense now.
