Additional note: I am using a hair dryer to slowly heat up certain parts of the figure and not a heat gun! Please do not use a heat gun for figures because they operate at higher temperatures and might deform, scorch, or even melt plastic.
Alter shows once again why they're one of the superior manufacturers. 🤩 The box alone is such a great design and dare I have to say that the chair looks realistic af. Some other parts do too ho ho ho ~ I'm not that big of a Perseus fan, still the figure is truly beautiful, I especially love all the pink tones. 💗 Great unboxing as always. 🧐
Thank you very much 🎩👌Hopefully you never have to fix a new figure right out of the box but knowing how to fix something minor like a deformed hair strand might come in handy :3
I advise using a hair dryer (like I did in the video) instead of a heat gun. Heat guns operate at much higher temperatures than a normal hair dryer and might deform, scorch or even melt plastic very easily if you are not careful.
I just received mine today. I don't mind the hair as I know gravity will take over in a few months to drop down on its own I'd imagine, as it's a soft plastic. My only complaint is the lack of glasses. Her initial pose in the chair with her hand toward her head is supposed to be pushing a pair of red glasses up. Without them, it just feels she's just gesturing with her hand lol
True, the lack of the glasses (or the option) is kind of sad. At least they changed the left-hand gesture a bit (moving it forward instead of having it closer to the face), so it does not look like she is trying to push "invisible" glasses. Maybe next time ALTER will nail it like they did with their other Azur Lane figures.
@@SakegeistCollects You said it perfectly with her hand not too close to the face so it's not entirely noticeable, I've already gotten used to it aha great figure overall though! Perseus is my favorite shipgirl, 3X valentines MVP and permanent secretary spot. This figure only shows my enjoyment of her more.
I've heard about the hair dryer trick, but I've never actually done it. (In the case of a leaning figure) how long should I heat up the figure, before trying to straighten them back?
That usually depends on the thickness and flexibility of the part you want to fix. In general, you want to heat it up until it is less stiff and can be moved or affixed into position. Letting it cool down in the desired position reforms the plastic part. Warning! This is my personal take on how I would straighten up a figure and is not professional advice. I take no responsibility for damages. To straighten up a figure I would do the following: I would heat up the desired spot, like the ankle, until it can be bent or moved a bit. Let it cool down while holding it in position until it is stiff again. Then I would repeat the process until it is straightened up again if necessary and possible. You want to only heat it up slightly, mostly warm to the touch, or until it is less stiff or slightly movable. It is a slow process and might take a while.
Hair looks "very plastic" up-close and under a strong light but that is the downside with flexible PVC. My gripes with this figure are the one hair strand over the back of the chair, which I had to fix because it was deformed, and the chair is a bit wobbly when you move it but that was only an issue for me while recording the showcase part. Still, this figure looks good amidst all the other ALTER Azur Lane figures with its pose and bright colors. If you can get it cheaper than MSRP, then add her to your collection, hehehehe~!
Is it just me or does her eyes seem less than ideal? They look a bit weird IMO. Is it too much pink iris & not enough white? Is it the reflective nature of the eyes?
The eyes/iris are light pink with a slight white gradient and are almost identical to the original illustration. Under certain light conditions and distances, the semi-gloss eyes can appear totally white or pink. Best enjoyed in a lightly dimmed case with a dark background.

Her box has a really awesome design.
No need for display case when box is already this good
Love how her id badge is tucked away

Thank you very much 🎩👌The pink and white colors are really standing out amidst all the Azur Lane figures. Truly a nice eye-catcher :3
Nice quick DIY hair fix! Thankfully I've never had to do this myself but good to know for the future!

Omg, I'm always so scared to heat gun anything. Watching you do it gave me courage though. I'll reference this video if I ever encounter it

Good luck with the fix! Hope it will work out just fine 🧐👌
does the hair look cheap in person? Because I might consider if the price goes down. What are your gripes with this figure?
