I beat him with fists martial arts, its fun as a concept but second phase is pain in the ass, too much running away from his 156-hit combos and damage sucks ass coz you can hit him once or twice before he starts another combo

The epic way is to also fight Godfrey with a great axe and switch to the martial arts in his second phase
I used to do things like that, use an axe or Beastman cleaver in the first phase then switch to caestus in the second
