On the east-west road at the north end of my town, there is a convenience store at the northeast corner. If you see a car with his turn signal on to turn north, you don't know if he is going to turn on Main Avenue or after Main Avenue into the convenience store. Always wait until it is clear what they are going to do. I don't necessarily wait for them to start their turn, though, if they slow down enough to make it clear that they are turning. But be aware if it is someone wanting an insurance payout from your insurance company, they might be trying to entice you into pulling out in front of them.
This almost happened to me today; i was waiting for someone to make a right turn (they had their right turn signal on) and the person behind me, blew his horn (i guess he was impatient), but i did not go anywhere until i was sure that the person was going to turn! Good instructional videos!
When someone honks at me when I don't have the right of way I purposefully reset. If I'm turning on red, I look away from the side roads for a moment, collect myself, and then start looking again. I will not be pressured into going when I'm uncomfortable.
There's a lot of conflicting information here. Although there is only one stop sign, the intersection markings indicate that it's a controlled intersection, and without a stop or caution light, that means it's a 4-way stop. Since we arrived first, we have the right of way regardless of what the red car is doing. Secondly, the approaching car is indicating a right turn. That means he should not be crossing our course of travel, so there should be no reason not to proceed. The fact that he should be stopping at the corner (or at least yielding) before proceeding because, as noted, the lane markings indicate a controlled intersection, reinforces our right to proceed. That said, although we are in the RIGHT to proceed, the uncertainty of the intersection labeling means taking the cautious approach, C, is the safest. We should at least wait for the red car to slow down.
@@geriroush8004 I thought the solid line is called a "Limit Line" behind which vehicles are supposed to stop before proceeding. The solid white lines are called stop lines in my area and should be tried like a stop sign. So option 2 is the right answer. Failure to signal or sending false signals to bait someone into causing an accident should be illegal. Number 3, however the blue car has the legal right of way.
Red is at fault for signaling turning when they weren't, but blue may be at fault for not coming to a complete stop.
Well wtf? What's the point in having turn signals in cars if we shouldn't trust them? The whole point of having turn signals, or so I thought, was to keep drivers moving efficiently instead of waiting to figure out where they other drivers are headed.
They are an ‘indicator’ not a command. While it is true that turn signals or ‘indicator’s’ should be used correctly it is still incumbent upon other road users to allow for errors
