Good job team Chevy, team McLaren & Pato O’Ward!!!
O'Ward has done it! He beat Palou to win at Mid Ohio of the hybrid era!
@@BFDIFinalistsfan2763 Really?! If Palou hadn't dozed off during that pit stop, Pato would never have taken the lead.
@@billmartin1010 “dozed off” 😂🤡😂 sore LOSER! O’Ward drove a great race and kept Palou behind him when it counted to beat the brakes off Palou!!!
McLaren nearly won the british grand prix today
Even though it was pretty much a two horse race from start-to-finish, it was enjoyable watching them battle it out.
Well done Pato! 🎉
So glad for Pato making things really interesting at the end there!
Let's be fair. Pato didn't make things interesting. Palou's poor pit work made things interesting. If not for Palou's error, the race would never have hinted at on-track overtaking. As it was, it was only a hint. This "race" was not up to the standards of IndyCar.
Wtf ... ?
@@billmartin1010 yeah, this would have been a snooze fest if Palou had a proper pit stop and then the other Ganassi driver hadn’t slowed down to push Pato back into Palou
Gran carrera Pato!!!. Felicidades!!!!😊
You can't not love a Pato O'Ward WIN!!!!
That battle was fun to watch live.
It really was. At mid O when a Ganassi car gets 5 seconds ahead of second place it's usually a done deal. Today was different, good race to be at live. I was in the esses
could this be pato's year? he's good on the remaining ovals
The next one was the site of his last win before yesterday...
Dixon & Newgarden really struggled, while O'ward & Palou puts up the battle of the season in my rejection, unbelievable how the Mexico beat the reigning champ to the line ⚡🤩🏆🍾🎉
Que corrida meus amigos!
Letsgooo patoo 🇲🇽

Good race, only one caution.
Was sitting on the exit of 13 seeing the finish. Great job Pato.
How did the cars sound compared to before?
Excellent race from Pato 🦆
This race was a thriller especially the last 20 laps!
Good race pato keep it up
Thrilled to bits for O'Ward - nice one man! 👍
excelente patito!!

Television does not do this track any justice. Seeing any race here in person is highly recommended by me.
I'm surprised you didn't add a commercial or two into the highlights.
Pato saved the race from being boring
chip gave Armstrong such a bad strategy
6 INDYCAR CAREER WINS FOR PAT O'WARD
6 INDYCAR CAREER WINS FOR PAT O'WARD
Race was scheduled for 1:00pm (Central time) but when I turned it on, the race was already 6 laps in. WTF IndyCar, this wasn't the first time I missed the start of a race because IndyCar started the race earlier then the scheduled start time.
Same. I was watching the MotoGP race (I DVRed it because of F1) and timed it out so that I would done BEFORE the IndyCar race start. Nope. Like you, I turn it on and it's like 4 laps in. NBC doesn't care and IndyCar just bend over for them every time. Probably wanted to hurry things up so they can get to the regional stock car racing series.
Same was totally confused came in like 5min before 2 saw Dixon wrecked was like how you wreck before the race even starts ??
@@fiarandompenaltygeneratorm5044 It's so frustrating that IndyCar is run by a bunch of amateurs.
The race/event on Eastern time where I'm at started at 1:30 so someone lied to you.
So the broadcast would've started at 12:30 for those in central time
Good to see decent crowds and racing on an epic race circuit. So much better racing than F1 and evidence that lap time means little when it comes to racing. I don't care that these cars are many seconds slower, they produce better racing.
I'm just glad that a Penske or Ganassi car didn't win.
Welp, Will Power is 2nd in points, 48 points back after finishing 11th while Alex Palou finished 2nd….
Great, Power’s a long shot for the title while dealing with the Ganassi #10 again just like old times, but with a different driver.
I don’t feel too confident about Power’s chances at the moment, but hopefully the Iowa doubleheader helps…
It should. I don't think that chipmunk Palou is that good on ovals, so it's gonna shake up the points more, especially if he crashes.
Palou is the best driver on the grid, so this tracks
The Penske cars are strong on the ovals, so your man Power should score some big points and close that gap.
@@izzdin6228 that’s my realistic expectation at this point, if you ask me
The question has been answered . . . "How do you eliminate all on-track overtaking from a series famous for on-track overtaking?" Mid-Ohio had very strong F1 overtones. That's not a good thing. Single file. Long intervals between cars. Every series that has gone hybrid has seen competitiveness decline. Let's hope something changes very soon for the better.
I fell asleep. I think I only actually watched about 10 laps (including the end), but yeah, today's F1 race was 1000x more interesting than this.
Reality...The first and ONLY race in the new hybrid era of IndyCar, took place yesterday...
You..."The question has been answered"...
Not much for waiting around for measurable data, huh?

Where is Leigh Diffy on commentary?
🏁🦆🦆
At least one McLaren didn't choke today. I think this win puts Pato into either 3rd or 4th place.
I know its easier said than done but these other drivers, and yes I cannot stand Palou, need to stop letting him win pole and need to stop letting him run away in front cause when he is, its a boring freaking race and he gets to chill and act like hes supposed to be in front. Im so glad that chipmunk did not win.
@@Wily_Ambition6819 me too! You should be at one of the races when they introduce him or he comes around in the parade cars before the race… the boos towards Palou are loud and clear!
Thank God for Pato... Otherwise Indycar would be a snooze fest with Ganassi and Penske taking turns are winning races...
Pato fans are weird.
Pato was lucky Palou screwed up in the pits, If he didn't he would've came back on track right before Pato
@@ptl2007Pato was fast enough to ashorten the distance between him ans Palou from 5 seconds to .5 seconds, hadn't Pato gone quicker he wouldn't have got ahead of Palou.
NGL, coming from F1. This race was kind of boring outside of the last few laps. Single line and no overtaking. I hope going hybrid is not going to be a disaster
hybrid is not even the problem bro. mid ohio is always a hard place to overtake. plus, the back half of the field was faster than the middle half of the field if you listen to some of the commentary on the extended highlights soon
I hope this was an issue of drivers not being accustomed to the powertrain. But I have never seen a USAC, CART, IRL, or IndyCar race with less actual racing. It's as if they outlawed on-track overtaking. Very F1-ish . . . well, except for the slow cornering speeds.
I sold myself on the idea that Indycar was far more exciting than F1 because all of the cars are essentially the same. I was wrong, Indycar is just as boring most of the time as F1 is most of the time.
So go watch a crash fest NASCAR race an stop trolling Indy post .....buy ...😊
@@phillippugh2161 Salty much?
One question is Leigh Diffey no longer there?
He'll be back the next race. He's been the anchor for the Olympics lately
They sent him to rehab to learn how to pronounce "Gallagher" with an "r" at the end. No, Leigh, it's not the video game Gallaga! It's "Gallagherrrrrrrrrrr!"
Congrats to Pato for a great race, EVERYTHING ELSE TECH WISAE SUCKED. Dixon got screwed over. The stupid green and red Xmas light data display meant nothing and was a distraction. I'd rather see tire compound info next to the driver names. The power boost was not enough to make a difference.
Anyone, anybody but a Penske.
Palou lost this race
That's what happens when you text and drive.
Mid Ohio really was mid. I enjoy clean races but I don’t enjoy seeing the leaders unable to pass a car saving fuel at the end of the lead lap. The finish wasn’t nearly as exciting as people made it to be. If Pato can’t get past a backmarker there was no way Palou was making a pass. Looking back almost all passing was done on pit lane.
I don't know for sure but I kind of wonder if Pato intentionally stayed behind Simpson to get a draft off of him down the straights. It did chew up his tires a bit which allowed Palou to close the gap in the middle part of the course but was able to maintain a large enough gap down the straights as to where Palou wasn't close enough.
These cars generate to much dirty air for such a narrow, high-speed track
Boring race that only got interesting in the end because of Palou´s delay exiting pits. Also, Grosgean is a madman.
Grosjean either has a perfect race or a very poor race
Had its moments but over all boring race
FIRST 😅
It appears Palou was texting or using his phone to post on social media during that stop. But then, if he hadn't, nobody would be pretending there was a "race" today.
As the lone imsa fan, what do you guys think of the hybrids?
I like it. They seem a little zippier coming out of the turns.
Can’t tell after one race. I’d say Dixon isn’t impressed. It’s hard to tell anything because it was also the first race since a full repave. I don’t necessarily fault the hybrid for zero passing, but overall the race was a huge letdown.
Zero passing in a series previously known for lots of passing. It was the least competitive USAC, AAA, CART, IRL, or IndyCar race I can remember. Also . . . on-car showed that some drivers got full recharge after a couple turns, others never did. There seem to be lots of bugs to be worked out.
@@billmartin1010 Bugs to work out? Up above, you said "the question had been answered" concerning the hybrid era of IndyCar. Now there's room for improvement??
@@codymoe4986 You clearly didn't read my whole comment above. I ended it with hopes that things would improve. Or were you just frustrated and wanting to troll somebody.
Even though I'm glad Sir Lewis won his home GP, this was a great race. Formula needs to take notes.
Has nothing to do with F1
Ummm...the F1 race was 10,000x more interesting than this race from Mid-Ohio. This was a snooze fest except for the last couple of laps.
@fiarandompenaltygeneratorm5044
The last few laps weren’t even exciting. If Pato couldn’t pass a fuel saving back marker, there’s no way Palou was passing Pato. The race was over after the last pit stops.
