    --------
In the latest clip, Jose Canseco talked about the assault charges he and his brother faced after a physical altercation between themselves, bouncers, and a group of men at a Miami nightclub. He also explained his reason for retiring in 2002 and spending four months in jail after his probation was revoked. Later, Canseco revealed that he was living out of a garage with only $20 after bad investments and divorces caused him to blow through the $55 million he made during his professional baseball career.

Grew up with him, we worked out, hung out, had high school classes with him as well! Nothing bad to say here.
Always got along, that being said. He would hit Home Runs in High School over the single family homes across the street, over the fence, before the juice days. Some of these home runs would have been considered long major league home runs. The real deal, a natural for sure. Of course, he speaks honest, and is straight up, just like most people that grew up in the 80"s YEP

When the crowds have stopped cheering, when the fast girls and fast cars are gone, when you are alone with yourself and the money and mansions have gone, that's when you find out who your real friends are and who was just a user along for the ride. Best of luck Jose.

There are no friends per se only people you enjoy good times with. They can't help you. They did not force you to spend your money on hookers or fast cars or cocaine or other drugs. They were just there because he brought them for the ride. I am sure some of them told him to stop wasting his money and didn't pay attention. What can they do for him? Loan him another $50 million. He would waste them again and again. He is a better person now that he learned his purpose in life. To live a simple life.

Canseco is a known bullshitter, he's lied in court, he's lied on cheating, he lied in his book, his story about "handling" 5 bouncers is a lie. IDGAF how juiced he was, 3 bouncers working any "massive" nightclub will wrap you up and take you down even if they each weigh a buck 50 wet. I like listening to him bullshit though, he's like a funny story teller. Great person to have around a camp fire. But in the end it's a low point in Vlad TV, this is like putting Tim Donaghy on. He was probably a dick to his wife, cheated on her, etc., that makes her bitter, more inclined to try to roast him in court and he's arrogant, he wants to fight everything, so he ends up spending ten times the amount of money a normal person would and the lawyers aren't complaining. Meanwhile, he makes dumbass investments, looks for big returns, tries to constantly beat the market, doubles down on losses because he KNOWS he gonna win and then loses $11 million because he didn't do boring, he didn't balance his portfolio, he could easily and safely earn $500K/year on a $10 million balance, but no...and it all goes down the drain. All of it.
I don't know...everyone knows that if you drive your car at 100 mph everyday all day and never change the oil, the engine's gonna blow. So, figure 40% in taxes of 55M and he's down to 33M - 11M is down to 22M. That's more than enough money for ten lifetimes, but go figure you gotta pay agent fees which are through the roof, lawyers and retainer fees, fines/restitution, his house was probably 5M'ish with taxes, cars (ferarri's and lambo's) and like he said, friends family (uncles and shit he probably never knew he had) and anything else. I can see it if they’re married like 10+ years and the woman gave up a career or schooling to raise his kids... An agreed upon amount with an expiration date for certain situations makes some sense. However, I see guys pay like half of their salary to alimony and child support after like 2 years of marriage and it being given until the kid is like 18!! Wtf is that!? That shit is what keeps people in miserable marriages. That’s probably also why men have a higher suicide rate and die younger than women. K I’m done ranting lol

If you’re playing professionally baseball full time, you don’t have the time to learn and manage your money. You can’t just put it into a savings account. Back then there was no internet so it was way harder to learn things or read about ex broke pro players. A lot players never talked about money or admitted they mishandled their money so you were basically on your own. There was no smart phones so it wasn’t like you could clearly and quickly see your money situation. Also, back then there was a lot of horrendous shitty financial advisors and you wouldn’t know they hosed you until it was too late.
