I'm a Seven and something that's really important for me that seems to be a bit counterintuitive is, make plans and follow through on them! I think the "spontaneous" aspect of type Seven tends to get a bit inflated because it fits with that childlike, adventurous, manic pixie dream type image, but my experience of being a Seven actually involves a TON of planning (although for what it's worth I do have a pretty strong Six wing). Plans with room for spontaneity are great, but I'd much rather have at least some hand in planning my birthday party than have a total surprise party, because then I can also enjoy the time leading up to it when I can get excited about it, too! Sharing that pre-fun fun by planning together is something that makes me feel really loved and understood.
Agree 100% I'm a 7 but plan in advance for my vacation and trips. If I don't have a plan it usually causes me more anxiety and I spin into my unhealthy wing.
My best friend is a 7 and one of the things I love about her is how deliberate she is with her time. When we are out she puts her phone down and treats me like I’m the only person that matters. It means a lot to me and I don’t think she realizes how special that quality is.
It’s important for any relationship, but highly effective for a 7 to have a partner who can listen without judgment to their negative emotions or struggles. as a male type 7 I need someone who can sit with patience while I word vomit my emotions. Often I already know the solutions and don’t need that. I just need someone who I know I can confide in and not judge me while I verbally process my emotions. It’s super helpful and something I didn’t realize I wasn’t getting in my relationships until I finally did :) If I can do this with you, my emotional bonds grow strong very quickly
OMG, I’m a 7 and this is SPOT ON! I’m thinking I should send it to my husband! It’s hard as a 7 to go deep in my feelings, especially around others, because I’m expected to be the one who’s always happy and outgoing.
I feel the same way. I'm the guy who makes others happy and cracks jokes. I feel I'm not allowed to feel sad because no one else will make the mood better if I don't.
One of my best friend's a 7. And, even though we may be kind of opposites (I'm a 4), I just think she is a perfect match to my personalities. I'm an introverted and she is an extroverted. When I'm happy, I'm very happy, and she is able to follow my enthusiasm. And, when I'm low, she respects me and tries to cheer me up and doesn't judge me. But, don't try to constantly talk to them by text. They are not good at it. But, when we are in person, it's amazing. And, even though she gets lost in her many thoughts and ideas, I think it is very fun. I appreciate her creativity and honesty.
I have a few 7s in my life and I absolutely adore them! As a 5, I really admire their spontaneity, and upbeatness. My life would be quite dull without them!
My best friend is a 7 and I am a 4. It is rocky sometimes, but mostly it is awesome. My 7 has promised never to leave me when I become sad or upset. He has also said that he will be enthusiastic no matter what. I have promised him that I will never block my joy and awe completely out. Even when I feel intensely upset, I know that I have many things to be grateful for and happy about. We are wonderful catalysts for each other’s growth!
I know at least that it’s true for me as a seven, that when I’m feeling angry, sometimes it’s best for other people to just “ignore it”. Especially if I know someone well enough, I’ll be able to tell if they’re silently acknowledging it. It’ll usually fade in 20-30 min. If it doesn’t go away, then I might need to talk about it. But making sure I know that I can talk to you about something is so important to me! If it’s big enough, I won’t be able to keep it in... Fellow sevens, do you find it hard to not display all of your emotions in your face? If I’m mad, sad, or annoyed, you can for sure tell. I’m a seven wing six, so I’m a little bit “softer” of a seven and anxiety can be a big thing for me.

Omg girl, i get so much grief from my boyfriend about that! When we are having a disagreement he tries to call me out on my facial expressions...im like "Dude!, im trying to control my temper and the words that are coming out of my mouth! Don't even expect me to control what my face is doing!!!" I'm also a 7w6 and anxiety is a problem for me too, so i can totally relate to you!
When I get upset, it’s impossible for me to not show it...I hardly ever get upset though and when I do it’s over quickly. My rule is to wait at least three days to bring up something that I’m upset about to my husband, because I’m usually completely over it by then.
Im a black male.. number 7 and exactly how u describe yourself.. if angry sometimes u have to ignore me but hear me out if that makes sense.. if issue is big enough ill have to push it.. Prettymuch all that u describe with yourself, i relate to. When i first discovered I and my 22yr old twin sons r 7's.. that information i found said that 7's are loners and pretty independant. This is all so true! As a 7 I definitely find myself trying to cover negative feelings with menial tasks or even by making ALL the plans! Speaking of you should do a "how different types deal with sadness(or other negative emotion)" video!
Im a serious seven, which is a bit of an oxymoron! One hour Im all fun and games and the next I am like, lets gitter dun! But another great way to love a seven is to take her a long on a shopping spree and let her help you pick out new pillows for the your couch or a new oufit with matching accessories. Or anything she can engage her creativity. That's our jam!
My gf and I are both 7s and we couldn't be happier! We've been in our relationship for almost 2 years after having known each other for 7 (totally coincidental) years and every day is more exciting and blissful. Spot on with not wanting to feel anything sad or negative. Especially being 7w8. My sister is a 4 and is the total opposite and in one video you did a role play part with a therapist and a 7 and it made us laugh because she’s a 4 and a therapist😂

@@jessicaharris3881 hahaha honestly i don’t even know😂 don’t really have any tips unfortunately although i would say maybe have them each read the other’s enneagram type in depth so they can understand more about why they are the way they are! i think that’s helped us as adults but could have benefitted us at that teen age. good luck!
3:16 that's how conversations with my dad go lol. I'm a 4 so it's sometimes difficult because I'm always ready to open up, talk about my feelings and stuff xD now seeing the enneagram types, it all makes sense!
I think the one big commonality with 7's and 4's is both of us are free spirits and don't like routines. This may not always show up in the same way, though as us 4's don't conform to peer pressure and go our own way from societal norms or trends and being a free spirit for us more often means meditating and reading weird books lol and no matter how many times I've tried I've never been able to live my life by a strict routine or any at all sometimes; but I think that when you have a 4 and a 7 together you have the non routine/free spirit thing in common but can balance the two ways that can look together. Also of course us 4's know how to feel our feelings so we can help the 7's that way as well,
7 is one of the type most hard to understand if you don't know ennaegram. They are easily get hurt but he wouldn't say it. Also their inner emotions is completely opposite to their outer persona. They might look super happy but the more happy they look, the more sad and scared inside. When he suddenly becomes silent, actually he is the most happiest.
As a Devout 7, I think it is just essential for them to be secure, like a kite they need a rock to allow them to fly!! But, Hold on because THEY will want you to fly off with them too!! Enjoy the ride and trust they know what they are doing!! (Sometimes!!)
My 7 wing type likes to be treated with a night on the town, a road trip, a makeover, or a shopping spree. That is how I receive love either by taking me out for a night of fun and excitement, or by buying me expensive gifts, or treating me to a makeover.

I also have twin sons.. not identicle but they look identicle lol.. theyre 22yrs old and also life number 7. I think my biggest issue (externally) is not finding any true loyalty. I think I’m a 7 and yes, my love language is quality time. Haha wild. But I don’t think I avoid difficult things- it just sorta annoys me that others sometimes “sweat the small stuff”. I feel like I find the good in things but it doesn’t feel like it’s in an avoidant way. I feel a LOT and I’m pretty honest about it. But lots of things that bother other people don’t feel like a big deal to me. I really feel like things will be okay and every cloud DOES have a silver lining. Yknow? I dunno, I’m just confused because I feel like I’m in touch with my emotions but just legit not easily phased or scared of change etc. am I just not a 7 after all?
You know, I am a 9, so a peacemaker, and I feel like I'm finally getting on the right growth track with the help of God and my family and really close friends, which is so exciting for me! =D Anyway, I don't limit myself as much anymore and am trying to use the information I gain about people (I didn't even know I could do that before), and talking to them to try and see them gain inner peace and rid themselves of pain, cause it is so sad to see others go through pain to me. So the other day I found this person was a seven because we took a test, and I talked to them about their inner fears and they totally opened up to me, and I was so surprised!! :O I was super happy though and hope they feel a lot better and try to take the time to process their problems and know that it's okay to have pain and painful situations, but to not let them build up until it's detrimental to your emotional state D: I've dealt with the same things before so it was easy to tell them about my fears of being hurt and the way I also try to stuff down my feelings, etc., but also listening to them and sympathizing with them and showing that I was (hopefully) a safe place...
I’m a 7w8 and love your content, is there coaching you provide for helping with being a better partner, I do a lot of work to be a better person just seems I haven’t found my other Half yet... just want to my best version of me. I think any Enneagram number can make it work with any other Enneagram number. All that matters is levels of health.
