- This is my STEM-ReMaster of Kaleidoscope from Meshuggah's Immutable. I remastered this release for my own purpose.
Meshuggah is one of the biggest influences throughout my musical journey. Especially my guitar playing was strongly shaped by them, and my passion for heavier music grew immensely over the years. That's why I dedicate this channel mainly to this fantastic band that has fascinated and inspired me all this time.

I enjoy your masterings, I like them better than the original)
Thank you so much! I hope you're doing alright!
Drums sound more clear, this album is amazing but I have to say the drums sound clunky. I was used to always hearing such cracking snares and crisp tones from Tomas all these years. This albums drum tones sound so much more “generic modern metal “ to me. Oh well, can’t please everyone right. Meshuggah are still pioneers of the modern metal sound.
I would love to know their reasoning behind the production and mix. Meshuggah is my favorite band, but I don't like their latest album as much as I've hoped for. Let's see what they're cooking with their next one, I hope Fredrik will contribute a lot more than he did for Immutable.
Stem remastered?
STEMS as in stereo mixes of sub groups like drums, guitars etc
@@Haekki Ohhh, so you were able to pretty much remaster these songs down to the actual instruments themselves (than just the song as a whole)? That's great
Yes, although with real STEMS (as in they were exported from the mixing session one by one) you can do much more than I was able to do. Real STEMS sound clean, so if you would remove the vocal STEMS, you would get an instrumental version that only misses the vocals. In my case, all the STEMS sound really strange with lots of audible artifacts, when played in solo. Only when they get summed, these artefacts "cancel" each other out (or add up) to something sounding (almost) like the original mix. I have to keep the overall phase coherence in mind all the time, and drastic changes can lead to bad results quickly. EDIT: I wouldn't be able to remove Jens' vocals without the rest sounding bad, so no Meshuggah instrumentals for now :(
