Even though I'm Italian-American. I never was much into my culture. Yeah as a boy going to the stores was okay enough to show interest for my family and relatives. But never went back to Arthur Ave ever since.
Always Ramono for your pasta. Romano is sheep’s milk, very salty and IMO way better than Parmesan! Try it sometime. The black cured olives my grandpa used to cure along with his dried sausage in the basement. They’re my favorite and have some in the fridge at all times! I love little Italy in the Bronx. Used to spend every other summer there with my cousins for 2 weeks. This reminds me of that. Thanks Sava and Joel❤️
Love romano- my dad always used to buy it so I do too! Thats so cool that your grandpa used to cure olives! wow! Anyways, thanks aunt brig!! Miss you 💕
There are actually 2 Little Italys- one in the Bronx and one in downtown Manhattan. We New Yorkers love good food and Little Italy definitely has some great stuff!
There hardly any Italians left there, only places that seem to be italian owned are the butcher shop, seafood store, other than that I would not recommend visiting don't waste your time, trust me! Very disappointed
Agreed! It's so good but unfortunately, last time we went we realized Calandra's Cheese shut down! Any suggestions on other great cheese shops around there?
@@SavaSnacks That is so sad. Great shop. The only other cheese shop I frequent, is Casa Della Mozzarella. Excellent, but not the variety Calandra's had.
Sad to hear about Colandreas I remember my nonna used to send me there for mozzarella and ricotta back in the 70’s what a great neighborhood to grow up in boy I wish I could go back
She is so easy to watch. And interesting to listen to.
Thank you! Going to dig into the place you recommend.
We were just there on NYE and let me tell you- still as good as ever! Thanks for watching 😊
Mmmm this made me so hungry! Can’t wait to try your recommendations. Excellent video!
hehehe thanks, x! 💕

The Tara Massu look so light and creamy
This area in the Bronx reminds me of the Ironbound District in Newark, NJ
I’ve never been! Will have to check it out someday. Thanks for the info 😊
Eat at Dominick's. Buy bread at Terranova.
I grew up on Arthur avenue Dominics is my favorite
My grandpa used to live on top of that place
@@adrianothegoat very nice
Ye
Are there any people in Arthur’s Avenue that can speak Italian or no one speaks Italian in Arthur’s Avenue anymore?
No there are definitely still Italians around but it is also a diverse area!
There are more italian speakers in Bronx's little Italy than the manhattan's little Italy.

Arthur Ave in THE ONLY Little Italy
Arthur Avenue is the true Little Italy. You can't buy all these delicious foods and groceries downtown.
