    I don’t have a lawn care business but I do have the 5005 gen 2. I have made a small business out of sharpening lawnmower blades and I have had nobody say anything bad about a blade I have sharpen. Everybody has there own way of doing thing but for me it was worth every dollar I paid for it.

      I do have an extra mount and I use a Milwaukee m18 cordless grinder that works great. With the extra mount I made a work station to keep in the bed of my truck to mount my 5005 gen 2 when I’m at work everybody brings me there lawnmower blades to sharpen. Maybe something you would like to keep in your trailer for emergency.

    "When I need to get it in, I can"!!! And.. I rewound the video to make sure I quoted you correctly!! Fantastic quote Bud!! I know a bunch of the guys got the RBG # sumptin or odder... & it's a killer sharpener. I'm still sharpening my blades bye hand. Most likely getting the All American Sharpener this Season as I should of gotten it last year. It's plenty for what my needs are. Hoping all is well Bud, Dirty Jersey out!!

    The vendor did a video on determining the proper angle. They recommended using a sharpie on the edge and scraping across the blade with the power off to see where the wheel is touching. Still too cold outside to do a maintenance on my new Deere X350. Looking forward to using the new tools.

    In addition to only sharpening uphill. Every two or three passes, put your fingers on the back of the blade. If it's too hot to touch let it cool before continuing or you will be changing the temper of the blade. Flip the blade and do the other side whilst that side cools.

      @@PlemonsLawnCare doesn't explain why you should only sharpen uphill, I'd imagine in part to keep from having the blade point grab and destroy the disc? Also what happens to the setup for the other blade that is reverse rotation and has the cutting edge on the other side of the blade, and why doesn't the shorter arm gen1 sharpener work on Walker blades does it just run out of reach?

    Seen these a few times and they def do an awesome job. I still do by hand with the angle grinder and disc, put it in a vice to hold it, and then I found a blade balance checker at Lowe's. I check the balance and may take a little more off one side depending on how well it is balanced. I used to use a bench grinder and man...What was i thinking!! LOL. I noticed you have the "elbow" of the fixture to the front of the grinder. It will work OK but you would be throwing sparks and debris from your grinding onto the pivoting parts of the fixture. Re-position the elbow behind the grinder and keep the pivot (wear parts) cleaner. Watch the All American web site videos. Thanks for making the video.

    You did exactly like I did; got the standard one first, then a new mower with half of its blades reversed. I donated my standard model to a pal. My shop is older and crowded too. I was fearing that the shower of sparks might catch something on fire. I had an old B&D Workmate clamping table and I set it up outside the door for sharpening.

    I'm trying to decide between the All American and the Oregon 1/3hp which do yall think would be the best choice for a small engine shop? I got my chainsaw chain sharpening down to a science running 2 tecomec super jolly with hydro clamp on both and diamond wheels from diamond wheel company (will never run another wheel) 1 setup up for 3/8-404 other .325-3/8LP 3rd grinder flat wheel for the rakers. I know they'll be some haters on my setup and probably for even asking this question but we all have our own ways. Thanks ahead for any input given negative or positive!

    Interesting tool. I'll need to look into it. Just used my angle grinder to sharpen my blades, by hand. It worked, but likely not as uniformly as this tool.
    On other, technical notes regarding your video, 1.) Turn off the auto-focus on the camera. Very distracting as it searches for the focus point. 2.) Get all of your tools ready on the set. Don't want to see people walking around their shop, looking for a tool while nothing is happening with the subject. 3.) Speeding up boring, time consuming tasks is fantastic. We don't need to see every stroke of the ratchet. Good job. 4.) Your lighting was very good. Soft, diffuse light that fills in where deep shadows could form allows us to see all the features. 5.) Last, tripod mount the camera to keep it steady.

    Wow. I’ve been in this business for 17 years it takes me 2 minutes to remove and sharpen the blade on my T25 and t23. I can’t see why I would want one of these. Seems like a hassle and process with no real payoff.

    • @PlemonsLawnCare
      @PlemonsLawnCare  4 роки тому +6

      Where is the hassle. The video is on initial assembly of the jig. What method are you using to sharpen your blades correctly in two minutes? The jig is small enough to be removed if you would like and put way in a draw or shelf and not take up the large space most blade sharpeners do. You have the ability to get the correct angle of any blade you put on it. I know the old way of hand grinding is not accurate or proper way to have a correct angle or balanced blade.

    • @PlemonsLawnCare
      @PlemonsLawnCare  4 роки тому +2

      Chuck Taylor so I’m guessing your way is the only way to skin a cat right. You keep filing while I’m out mowing lawns chuck. This tool makes life easier not that it’s the only way. I have a small shop I like to conserve space but still be efficient. Time is money and if I’m hand filing and spending hours as opposed to minutes takes time from my work and family. You do your way I’ll do it mine but to say there is no value already explains to me you can’t be reasoned with anyway.

    • @robertrlkatz6890
      @robertrlkatz6890 3 роки тому +1

      The RGB712 cannot possibly make as perfect of a Grind as this tool. This tool if set properly will always do a perfect grind, with the RGB712 when pulling the Blade across the stone the angle changes as you pull unless you are able to put the Blade in a Jig that could be made where the pull is the exact same you can't possibly do the perfect grind of the All American Jig. No way Jose! When the All American Jig is set properly it takes but a few moments in putting in a blade and sharpening it to perfection only if you put too aggressive of a wheel into the grinder can you cause some real problems, use a grit of 40 and you can do no better than that. Also Richey Plemons you have not watched The "All American" UA-cam Channel or else you would know that you mounted the Jig upside down and you would make the elbow so it points toward you, not away from you as you do the grind. Look I am sorry for the negatives but it bugs me when things are not done correctly but Thank you for at least doing a fun job of this UA-cam. Thank you.
