The blacklist is definitely his best work...nobody else could pull it off like him that role was made for him...great actor and he makes it look naturally easy
Am interesting fact about the show, is that, James Spader wasn't even chosen at first to be in The Blacklist, so the show wasn't made for him. But James Spader defined The Blacklist and it seemed to be that the show was made for him. 👍🏻
He just spent 7 minutes stretching out a story and he held the audience in the palm of his hand the entire time. I could watch an entire episode of this show dedicated to interviewing this man.
I don't really know or care who James Spader is but the story about the gifts they give to each other in Hollywood is emblematic of the greed and ignorance and wasteful spending in a fcked up society. Rich people giving other rich people fancy gifts is just ridiculous and obscene. Srsly who wants to listen to this idiot blather on about his dumbass gifts from dumbass Hollywood producers?
He talks the same way in Blacklist episodes the way he talks in real life. I am amazed the way he sets his speech to express anything at all that is asked to him. Love you James Spader. You're true Pinky.
The best actors play themselves in different demeanours. Raymond Reddington was James Spader pretending to be a light hearted criminal mastermind with a modest amount of sociopathy mixed in. I would venture to guess that James Spader in real life is a very light hearted free spirit guy, and probably very much a go where the wind takes him sort of fella.
Met James on the set of White Palace and talked to him about Jack's Back 1988, one of my favorite movies, he was so nice and cool and down to earth. He talked to us for like 30-45 minutes and did an autograph and picture. Salt of the earth, amazing actor and such an amazing voice!
I think he should do a one man show where he just comes out and talks about whatever. He's such a natural storyteller and is always engaging with the audience. Give him two hours and just let him go. I would gladly pay to watch that.
james spader has become my favourite actor after watching the blacklist! a phenomenal story teller, i could listen to him all day! thanks for not interrupting and letting him talk!
Blacklist is one of my fav shows ever, I'm currently rewatching it from season 1 right through to season 10 for the second time, it never gets old, James Spader just makes the show great he really does.
@@themanman4391 There's probably others that could have played the role but not in the way that Spader does it. He made the role his, rather than just playing the character. Which is a big part of it's appeal to many, myself included.
Oh my God! This guy, James Spader is an enigma! His portrayal of Raymond 'Red' Reddington is so incredibly fantastic, i just couldn't get enough of him. From his days in Boston Legal, i grew to love this guy. I wish him long life , good health and great happiness. Thanks for the unrivaled entertainment you give us.

Such great actor and a great person. When Raymond Reddington in rage but totally calm just gives me goosebumps. The look he get in his eyes... Incredible!! The Blacklist is one of the best shows on television.
@susanrea5445 He does have an amazing voice and his delivery is impeccable! It's funny, as a little side note, I can only ever hear Ultron from the Avengers movie when he speaks, haha. I had never seen anything with him in it until after watching Avengers Age of Ultron (and for proper context I'm early 30's so I didn't watch many 80's/90's movies growing up as a kid). So I mostly watched more family friendly films from early periods and of course cartoons. But...I loved his voice after that film, looked him up, and the rest is history. One of my favorite 80's actors to date! I'd almost describe him as "American Posh" lol as he is very British in his tonality and how proper he speaks. I've also noticed he has an almost imperceptible lisp when he says certain words, and it's kind of fun waiting for it as he tells a story. The best part is when he uses his indignant tone and delivers his punch lines. Masterful crowd work indeed!
Just one of my all-time favorite guests, doing his completely typical, meandering storytelling, full of asides and pregnant pauses, and being utterly charming. I'm *so* glad you always just let him do his thing, Seth. BTW, the McShane interview was also terrific. Really great show, all around.
Just love the personality and the way he conversates overall. What a great man. Sad to see Blacklist go, by far my favorite tv shows ever watched. Thank you James.
I have been a fan of James since "Sex, Lies and Videotape", and really fell in love with him in "The Practice". I was so glad to see his character reappear in "Boston Legal"...he's wonderful! Please have him back as often as possible for yet another singular story! 😍❤
