This virtual walk walking tour through the village of Bakewell takes us right through the heart of the town showing the pubs, restaurants, shops and places to buy fish and chips as well as a look down at the river flowing gently through this beautiful place in the Peak District of the UK.

Bakewell Pudding is what brought most fame to this village but there's more to this place than that as you can see. The town is lovely and a perfect place to spend the day lazing by the river, watching the ducks go by the padlock bridge, or walking round the farmers market, or just buying fish and chips and sitting eating them whilst the birds and ducks come begging for a bit!
As we wander through the town of Bakewell Derbyshire you can see that it's a really popular place to come as people from all over the UK head for a day out here.
As well as being famous for Bakewell Pudding you can also get Bakewell Tart here in the original pudding shop and people from all over the world enjoy buying their puddings from here. They also do mail order and post puddings out all over the world!
If you're in the Peak District or even if you're anywhere in the UK it's well worth driving into Bakewell Derbyshire and spending the day here relaxing and enjoying the warm and friendly atmosphere you can find in the town.
And don't forget to buy your pudding (or tart if you prefer that!) and of course good old english Fish and Chips!

We stopped off for a break whilst on a coach holiday so never got to see much of Bakewell so enjoyed this with the proper sounds instead of music very good

Neil I just love your channel it lets me get out and about! I love your European videos in particular. Since we had a nasty experience with Monarch airlines (Now defunct thank god!) we have stopped flying. So for me, it's great that you take the time to film these places.

@@GimbalWalkTV We used to go to Tenerife and unfortunately Monarch seemed to have a monopoly on flights, Evey time we flew with them we had problems. One year the air con was faulty and it blew an ice-cold Gail for 4 hours all the way there.! I had to have 4 brandies!! the final straw was an engine catching fire on our return to Birmingham.I've never been so scared in my life when the plane lands on the runway with fire engines and ambulances chasing it. I tell you mate some of them fake pants would have come in handy!!

I have only seen videos of it when it’s quite seeing how busy it gets has put me off going I hate crowds and I live in Hertfordshire we have beautiful villages and countryside here I have only been up north twice I hate long drives think I will stay in the south have you done any videos in Kent ? 🏴

Nice town , I had no idea it was such a tourist trap.
It is in the summer months mostly - as soon as the sun comes out everyone flocks there for an ice cream and fish and chips!

The Rutland Arms [formerly the White Horse Inn] is where the Bakewell Pudding originates from, this was in fact an accident. The cook was asked to make a strawberry tart for some important guests, by mistake she put the jam between the pastry and the egg mixture. The pudding was voted an instant hit by the distinguished guests and became a regular item on the menu by popular demand.
These puddings are now sent all over the world. Whatever you do don't ask for a Bakewell Tart, as you will be told quite curtly that 'Mr. Kipling makes Bakewell Tarts', 'we make Bakewell Puddings!)
